how would you rate the officer's handling of the situation? It looked pretty messy to me.
details: >New video shows a bird's eye view of a chase that ended in a deadly shootout between a suspect and a DPS trooper in east Bexar County. The Texas Department of Public Safety released the video in a commissioner’s meeting on Friday. It shows several incidents, including the deadly shootout, that illustrate how beneficial DPS helicopters are. In this case, not only did the helicopter help locate the suspect, but it also transported the injured trooper to the hospital. It was on Sunday, February 18 that a trooper tried to pull over 33-year-old Ernest Montelongo for an unspecified traffic stop. Montelongo allegedly gave a false name, then fled. The trooper briefly lost sight of the fleeing suspect, but a DPS helicopter assisted with finding him. The suspect crossed a highway and went the wrong way on I-10. The suspect was stopped by two troopers. Gunfire was exchanged between the suspect and a DPS trooper. The suspect and a trooper were taken to local area hospitals. The suspect died the next day in the hospital. The trooper, who has still not been identified, survived. DPS says that no additional information on the case can be released at this time.
Video edits out the time between the suspect and trooper stopping and the trooper leaving the cover of his vehicle. Also, can't see what else was in the vicinity that might have hindered the trooper from staying behind the cover of his vehicle.
Alexander Stewart
do people really bleed that fucking much from once getting shot?
Joshua Perez
What the hell do you think happens when the thing holding your blood in gets a hole in it?
Blake Morales
Cops are lucky these guys don't kill them more often.
Oliver Allen
Yeah I'd really like to know what happened in that cut time because based on this my question is why the fuck the officer left cover and approached the suspect when the suspect was using his car as cover and was obviously concealing a weapon. Why wouldn't the cops remain behind cover and order the guy to come out in the open or wait for a swat team to take him down?
Daniel Bennett
no i get that, that fucking much though that fast? im thinking twice about getting shot now
Jack Powell
>what is blood pressure
Chase Brooks
Well that's good, you should probably do a lot of thinking before getting shot.
Michael Brooks
yeah, i never thought about that.
Charles King
Yes, that much that fast. You can exsanguinate in literal seconds from a hit to a major vessel.
Tyler Moore
>tfw i look like a mexican
i have to be careful when im doing stupid shit
Jaxson Rogers
Well yeah. You ever heard someone say "just shoot them in the leg?" You got arteries and stuff there, one of the major blood transportation things for your body. It functions off blood circulating through the entire thing.. Everywhere on you mostly has a spot where bloods just going to start coming out a fucking ton, you can bleed out in seconds and die in some circumstances.
David King
there are five liters of blood in the average adult male body. lose 2 and you'll start feeling it. lose 3 and you're likely to die, 4 and you're dead.
hit an artery and its going to get leaky frend
Brandon Lee
in other videos when i see niggers get lit up they dont really bleed as fast. maybe there shirts soaking it idk. I didn't think it was that fast. i was under the assumption the body wasn't as fragile as that. I'm going to be way more cautious now doing anything stupid
Josiah Baker
It's different for everyone. Some people can still function after the point they're mortally wounded. There is also internal bleeding, the blood doesn't all come out but it fills up in spots it's not suppose to. Humans are a really weird mix of fragile and resilient. It's rather a bit of a crap shoot. Some people die once from getting hit in the head with a single punch, tons of people die from falling over and knocking their head, some people die laying in an inch of water and drown. People that put themselves at risk a lot of the time tend to get considered brave because it can be really easy for that sort of stuff to happen. It's kinda pathetic when people get it twisted and think doing it over stupid shit like a traffic stop is brave.
Liam Anderson
Fast thinking with that cop to get the fuck out of the way as soon as he was wounded
Jacob Hughes
Not that I know anything about why the guy ran a traffic stop. Getting killed over it looks pretty stupid though. Punishment for whatever else probably wouldn't have come anywhere close to matching a death sentence.
Hudson Brooks
yeah that nigger was stupid. Even seeing life in jail is better than death. hell he could have written a best selling novel with all that time
Wyatt Butler
prisoners arent allowed books anymore besides the bible so I doubt he would be allowed to work on and publish a book
Camden Lopez
That's absolute nonsense
Noah Jackson
It's only bad if you don't build up an immunity to it. If you're not used to getting shot, even a 9mm is gonna suck.
Asher Torres
Dude prisoners are allowed Nintendo DSs and all sorts of nice shit. In a state prison near me there was a big stink because the prisoners found out how to hack the things to get an internet connection which they're not supposed to have and were talking to their families and shit. Not to mention most prisons have entire libraries including law libraries. Not sure what kind of prisons you're talking about.
Chase Rodriguez
The chest cavity is hollow and (until perforated) at a lower pressure than outside the body. It also has a fluid capacity of around 3 liters. Thoracic hits tend to not bleed outwardly until the dude falls over because there's this nice big empty cavity for it to pool in.
Gut shots and arterial hits to the limb are much more spectacular in their bleeding.
Joseph Young
That's a artery hit, It's under pressure from the heart as opposed to a vein i.e. blood returning to the heat.
Caleb Hughes
>. Even seeing life in jail is better than death. I don't think I can agree with that. I believe in the death penalty. For the longest time I've had a theory and wanted to collect statistics on states with the death penalty vs. ones without them; that essentially a lot of criminal prosecutions will turn violent if they think they haven't got a chance at getting out of their circumstance through the legal system, or that if that doesn't work they don't have an out like the death penalty. Most successful campaigns for fights usually left an out where they're not forced to fight to a man without an out. Death penalty is sort of an out for when people want to martyr themselves and claim the legal system isn't very good.
Lincoln Wood
>Montelongo gotta love all the spics that flooded the US. the future sure is bright.
Josiah Robinson
> That fucking white tail hop and kick at 1:42 when he gets tagged with .223 > That commando roll after I assume he gets hit again, probably several times > That hand-on-head-I'm-so-fucked moment when he realizes he just took multiple rifle rounds in his A-zone > Added ignominy of dying with the back of your pants well below your damn ass crack I do wish the video had shown why the officer with the pistol left cover, especially if he already had the suspect in a crossfire from backup with a patrol rifle.
Also, the officer with the rifle was fucking Johnny-on-the-spot. Shoots the suspect, handcuffs him, drops the rifle somewhere, runs over to tourniquet his co-worker, and then runs back over to tend to the suspect. Get that man a donut. Fuck it, get him a cake donut and a glass of milk to dunk it in.
He probably got hit in his radial artery. 2 minutes untreated and you'll bleed out.
Dominic Morris
Even thought it's supposed to be informative and educational for LE and defense purposes, I'm surprised PoliceActivity hasn't been given a lot of shit by Youtube because of the bloody nature of a good deal of their videos.
Carter Young
>why the fuck the officer left cover "Highly trained professional." Also note how they used the hell to transport the lightly injured officer instead of the severely injured suspect. Negligent homicide IMO.
Luke Anderson
I can't tell if this is bait
Nicholas Foster
It's not. These cops should be executed for endangering the public with a high speed chase over running a stop sign. Assemble a firing squad of fellow officers and machine gun the firing squad if they refuse to do the job.
Xavier Brooks
I'm scared that if we talk about it, youtube will wake up and realize that they have something fun on their platform, and then remove it.
John Myers
swap commando for Last stand pro

Kind of like how he ran into bullet fire for doing his job?

it seems its always people of color that do this shit. when I get pulled over I have my license registration and dome light on and my hands on the steering wheel, whats so difficult about that?
Uninjured trooper was the real MVP. No idea why injured handgun trooper approached the suspect when the helicopter had repeatedly fed him info the suspect probably had a gun.
Having had to teach classes to cops, and as a result getting to know a lot of them personally, a whole lot of them are woefully undertrained for shootouts. You’re lucky if they are good shots on a static shooting range. It makes sense, since 99% of policing doesn’t involve getting in high tempo shootouts and training every single officer on it would be a resource drain for edge case situations, but god damn if a lot of these guys react about as well as any average citizen during a shootout. Again, props to rifle cop in the video. Dude not only shot up the suspect but fixed the other cop’s tourniquet.
Austin Nelson
Because niggers are monkeys and so are most non-whites. White trash? I live in a gated neighborhood and will probably make more in a year than your disabled monkey ass will make in 10. Stay mad faggot.
Eh, I think the Cop should have stayed behind the cover of his vehicle engine with gun draw, ordered the suspect to slowly walk forward with his hands in the air, and order the suspect to get on the ground with his hands on his head, and then make the arrest.
Approaching the suspect like that feels like a mistake.
Colton Perez
Not a cop or even a bootlicker, just not a schizophrenic disabled kid that thinks he doesn't have to follow laws. Continue on my severely mentally challenged sovereign citizen friend.
William Hughes
>he was a good boi >he DINDU NUFFIN I'm sure he was FORCED to break the law by those cops, lmao.
Kevin Lee
Well, the first officer should've actually had his gun up. Looked like he was just talking to the dude, and that looks like what got him shot.
Adrian Watson
Well there is also time edited out from this video. He'd probably been bleeding for a while.
Jace Adams
the chest cavity can absorb a lot of blood internally, so if you aren't hit directly in the heart or aorta there may be little blood showing.
the brachial artery otoh (the leaky officer) has nowhere to go but outside the skin.
Ryder Jones
oh fuck where do I get a quality tourniquet

wait they didnt transport the guy who ended up dieng by helicopter, just the guy with the weak am wound?
arent professionals trained how to triage o is this just classic police brutality
Michael Harris
It says they were transported to different hospitals
IE: tyrone waited for an uber to wait in the ER and whitecop got flown to surgery
Jackson Morgan
>> Added ignominy of dying with the back of your pants well below your damn ass crack I don't know why this made me giggle. Don't most gun fighters got a belt?
Isaiah Taylor
You're joking, right? >violent negro opens fire on cops >officer who was just doing his job Yeah, definitely should have given the violent felon the priority treatment here after he tried to kill one of own... Ah fuck, i took the bait
William Campbell
lol good, faggot got what he deserved.
Carson Roberts
>gun fighters >random dumbass gang banger
Nathaniel Turner
fake and gay, he could have just run the guy over while driving at him and firing
Daniel Hill
Do we know why the fuck that cop wasn't behind any cover? It looks insane from our perspective. I'd be fucking embarrassed.
Nicholas Powell
>get shot >need help >you're brutal for getting hurt
Noah Ward
> Have suspect who tried to murder a HiPo in a shootout while committing suicide by cop > Put him with no restraints other than handcuffs in a (probably) 2-seat aircraft within arms reach of the pilot Anyone want to list all of the possible ways this scenario ends badly?
Mason Davis
same. I thought people where faggots for having that shit
Julian Moore
And how the fuck are you going to transport the guy in the helicopter? It's not a medical helicopte,r it doesn't have a stretcher. The only reason the trooper could get in is because he was able to walk. You know what is criminally negligent? Putting a bleeding suspect sitting upright in a seat without medical personnel instead of waiting for an ambulance.
Carson Allen
Buy a brand-name North American Rescue CAT, or a SOFT-T, or if you're poor or really really space starved, a RATS or SWAT-T tourniquet. The first two are better but a little bigger and more expensive, the last two will do the trick provided you know how to use them good.
Get some quality emergency medical training centered around bleeding control and airway control, and if you don't know CPR, learn it. If you cannot access actual in person training, videos are a weak but better-than-nothing substitute.
Aiden Garcia
Hit an artery and your heart will empty your body of blood in about 3-4 minutes, tops. You'll pass out in a minute or two without a tourniquet. If you're conscious when EMS shows up, good chance you survive. If you're unconscious it means you've lost more than 3L of blood and death is likely.
Because the guy with just the arm wound is going to be compliant AND he doesn't need constant care when being moved. Guy on the ground was not in stable condition, and trying to toss him in a helicopter with 2x .223 wounds in his torso is going to do more harm than good. Best thing you've got is to get an ambulance there that has the facilties to move the guy safely and take care of the guy while he's being moved. And he's possibly non-compliant and this kind of helicopter doesn't have room to pin a guy down in.
Matthew Hill
The cop with the rifle was really on-point with kicking the gun away. I would have been the retard who slipped on it on HD skycam.
On that note, I was recently in a high-stress situation due to an elderly family member's medical emergency. At the hospital doing my stint of keeping her company right now actually. But when the EMTs showed up to get her breathing again, I was shaking like terminal case of parkinsons and no amount of deep/slow breathing helped me calm down physically.
With that in mind, how do people develop the kind of willpower to stay on point in these situations? Mine obviously isn't Jow Forums related but I want to learn how people like these cops came to handle life-or-death pressure so well. I know they get training but there's got to be a good way to develop willpower and mental acuity that a civilian can draw from.
Nolan Sanders
It's pretty surreal, I don't know how to describe it. I work at a fire department and was called for my first PCP Overdose and the dude was pacing back and forth like a wild animal, screaming and smacking his face like he was psyching himself for a fight. The thing that surprised me the most was being able to walk this guy 150ft down a tight stairwell to our squad while police were behind us.
It wasn't till back at the station writing the report that I ran through how messed up that could have been and how complacent I was just thinking this dude would act like the hundreds of other patients I've treated
Dominic Rogers
Nice, I've always wanted to be a firefighter. Do they teach you anything useful for controlling panic when they trained you? Also shit dude im glad you're ok, i live in the meth capital so i know how that do
Noah Fisher
it's pretty black and white, is best how I would describe it, no inbetween with fire-rescue. Either we're prepared to handle whatever the emergency is and have the appropriate tools, or it's too dangerous, or we don't have the men or tools to do the job, in which case we stand back and wait for reinforcements.
youtube.com/watch?v=Awmq9aIrga4 I think this segment from generation kill really sums it up, it's all perspective when running into a burning building, which for us, can come off as completely safe
Cooper Scott
Simple. You'll either win or it won't be your problem anymore.
I'd be in a rush, too. I'd be afraid to even get out of my car with the way San Antonio fuckers drive.
Justin Bailey
yeah clearly the rifle cop had some better training or something. landed solid shots that put the target down from maybe 25m away, secured the suspect, and helped give immediate treatment to the shot officer.
pistol cop was a dumbass.
Austin Reyes

Irish are white and Mexicans aren't. I know it's hard to understand from your perspective but it makes all the difference in the world.
Kayden Sanchez
The Irish were literally considered non-white when they immigrated. Read a fucking book faggot.
Daniel Cox
to be fair, a rifle is easier to hit with and does a lot more damage.
Owen Turner
He should have stayed behind his cover. If dipshit wants to start popping rounds let him. The guy didn't understand cover v concealment anyway and was trying to hide behind a fiberglass door, then ran from cover and started jumping when shit actually started popping off. Unfortunately the trooper wasn't trained well or didn't follow training. He should've stayed behind his engine block and deployed a rifle at range if he had one. At the very least hunker down until more units arrive because the guy was obviously going to try something. Instinct always tells us to run up and handle the situation asap but in this case he should've taken it slow. I didn't like the approach or outcome, but at least he just got hit in a limb.
We can armchair this all we want but I think it comes down to the trooper let adrenaline get the best of him. His mistake was leaving his cover. I feel if he would've stayed behind cover and put the guy at an awkward range he could've come out of that clean. Suspects typically aren't actually very formidable with their guns at range, don't carry as much ammo as us, and don't have nearly endless well armed, well trained (within budget) backup. He should've taken advantage of those factors and kept the upper hand.
Blake Miller

I like to think maybe he wanted to put a quick end to a firearm threat surrounded by innocent people driving. Can't say for sure though, hunkering down behind the police car or advancing from the grassy incline would have certainly been safer. I certainly won't fault him for trying though.
Easton Green
>I-I was pretending to be retarded! Seriously though you ugly rapebaby mutt, the name is CLETUS. Now go mow my lawn.
