That is not fuddlore?

>the gun is always loaded

It's either the deadliest bullet in the universe and will murder the fuck out of you if it so much as grazes you fingertip or else it's a poodle-shooter that's never killed anything. There are no other options.

SOF the world over do routinely carry suppressed .22lr firearms though. It's somewhat fallen out of favor in Western nations but still regularly happens everywhere else.

>the deadliest bullet in the universe and will murder the fuck out of you if it so much as grazes you fingertip
You're thinking of the 5.45 Soviet

>The .45 fired by Thompsons was SO devastating on targets the the germans accused the americans of using explosive rounds in WW2
>Just rack your shotgun to scare intruders off
>You need to meticulously clean all of your guns after firing them no matter the quality of ammo
>The M14 is more accurate and more reliable than the AR-15 and should have never been replaced

And the grandaddy of all fuddlore
>The sound of a Garand's clip ejecting got thousands of GIs killed until they started throwing empty clips against against rocks to fool the enemy into breaking from cover

>citation

none of this is fuddlore. thats basic firearms safety.

Yes we know the Israelis regularly shoot unarmed protestors with .22. Citation still needed

that's not fuddlore retard, except maybe the second one. there's nothing wrong with finger fucking guns as long as you're not a retard and cleared it first.

>HURR SOF NEVER EVER USES SUPPRESSED .22S
>NUH UH THAT DOESNT COUNT
fuck you nigger

>Same thing.

No but really back in the 70's and 80's the line was that .223/5.56 could kill via hydrostatic shock regardless of where it hit you.

Nice
Theses are some of the things I got to hear workin at a gun store.
>don't carry a full mag or hollow points in your CHL gun because the prosecutor will say you premeditated
>20 gauge with #9 bird shot is perfect for home defense
>a .308 is way too much gun for my 15 year old son to deer hunt with
>I'm going on a Yukon moose hunt and need a rifle in .270. I'm looking for a 1000 yard shot
(No I didn't sell him the gun)
>high points are perfect for self defense cause the one I own hasn't failed ever (he had put about 10 rounds through the gun in 5 years but carried it daily)
>all military surplus rifles are extremely inaccurate
>I would never shoot Tula, Russians use bullets that are all steel and they destroy your barrel.

I nearly had to challenge a man to a duel over fuddy five this week. Thankfully I could've dodged it.

Look I hate Israel as much as anyone but you really can't get mad at 'em for shooting their neighbors.

>>I'm going on a Yukon moose hunt and need a rifle in .270. I'm looking for a 1000 yard shot
DESU, the 270 will indeed do 1000 yards as it stays super sonic from a 26'' barrel well beyond a mile however I doubt a 270 would be adequate for a moose which is why so many people choose 30-06, 300 winmag and 338 lapua

If .22 will bounce off a squirrel/small game skull it will bounce inside your skull at least once. Any hunter knows its possible to shoot a squirrel in the head with box .22 ammo and have the round come out its ass. Consult any forensic forensic ballistic expert and ask them how many instances of a .22 bouncing they have heard about. The only way this will end is for me to record a phone conversation with one and have him describe the dozens of instances of 22 lr exiting the same side of the body that it entered. Like it or not .22 is definitively the "bounciest caliber" and bullets can under certain circumstances ricochet off the human body. Regardless of fuddlore that the bounces are reliable or more deadly. Take a bone out of a roast, go into your back yard and fucking shoot it with .22 and watch it bounce.

The 50 bmg thing is actually true there’s a video on YouTube of a man missing a dear and still killing it

>you're not a retard and cleared it first.
That’s the point.

Tbh, the rule should be written as “Treat every gun as if it’s loaded unless verified otherwise” if only to remove a strawman

5.56/.223 fired out of an ar-15 is simutaneously underpowered for hunting purposes, yet is inhumane because it will blow the deer in half

classic

You can thank the history channel for that last one.

7.62Nato DOES have lower pressures than 308

Wet boxers

50 bmg will kill you even if it doesn't hit you, the shockwave is so powerful!

That video was bullshit. He shot it through one eye and out the other. Just lucky enough of a shot to "confirm" his fuddlore. Demo ranch shot a .50 through a house of cards and didn't faze it.

Daily reminder the "suppressor" is a fairly new term that is being pushed by idiots that think playing word games will get silencers deregulated.

Attached: maxim silencer ad.jpg (541x360, 67K)

No, I don’t think it will change anything legally.
I’m just a pedant

>if you shoot a 5.56 out of a .223 barrel ar it will explode
>.45 ACP 1911s can shoot 9mm
>it's illegal to hunt with a semi auto rifle
>it's illegal to hunt with a semi auto shotgun
>it's illegal to hunt with a handgun in Texas
>it's illegal to hunt without a scope on your rifle
>the japs used to cut through machine gun barrels with their samurai swords in WWII
>"black powder and smokeless powder is basically the same thing" said a guy who wanted to buy loose smokeless to use in his muzzle loader because he didn't want the big smoke cloud.
>".357 sig will chamber in a .357 mag revolver" a guy who had never seen .357 sig ammo before, he was back an hour later trying to return the 4 boxes he bought.
>"10mm doesn't exist, it's 9mm" 21 year old zoomer who couldn't read the box 6 inches to his left.
>glocks are all plastic and can go through metal detectors
>3d printed guns are basically nukes
>ball ammo is perfectly round
>don't dry fire cause it'll snap the pin

Do you often whine about people calling peanuts "nuts" as well?

My uncle shaved the pin so it's automatic

Daily reminder that "silencer" is about as technical a term as "easy off" and repeated today by idiots and their masters who wish to keep our right to them undermined by portraying/referring to them as they were marketed originally (the patent belongs to a radio operator FFS)

People want things deregulated? What a bunch of assholes! Someone stop the hearing protection act!

>dont dry fire because itll snap the pin
To be fair this is actually true on a lot of older firearms or firearms that are known to have this issue.

There's nothing wrong with pushing for deregulation. You are a huge faggot if you try to go around changing terminology so you can trick people into supporting it though.

Strawberries aren't berries. Go down to the grocery store and demand that they change their fraudulent labeling.

The purchase of Strawberries nor berries are subject to Fingerprinting, passports, addresses on file, or an arbitrary tax and 3-9 month wait

You're a moron. It's a suppressor because it doesn't silence.

The original patent days silencer dipstick

I believe it initially was something alonh the lines of
>treat every firearm as loaded until you have personally verified it isnt

And smokeless powder isn't fucking smokeless. Big fucking deal.

The armorer of my department keeps spouting that a quick double-tap from 5.56 to the chest, regardless of where, will "rip the top of the aorta off" and instantly kill.

He's former FBI HRT so I wouldn't qualify him as a fudd, but it sounds dubious.

I dont have to clean my guns everytime, but i love the smell of gun oil so i do

>doesn't know about 556 anti-aorta rounds

>if you try to go around changing terminology
The image you posted is misleading you due to your fuddism. Silencers are a specific family of suppressors, the ones produced by Maxim until the 30's. Silencers are suppressors, the rest are not silencers but they are suppressors.

Attached: Listen here n00b.jpg (600x429, 50K)

The original patent for tissue paper says Kleenex, dipwad

They are all silencers because that's what Maxim called them and that's what they were called by the earliest relevant laws. It is not a "family of suppressors" they are all legally defined as "silencers" and there isn't shit you can do about it.

Yeah, I get where it comes from but this was a modern ar
Here's a few more
>pulling a trigger too fast is illegal if it makes you gun cycle as fast as a full auto
>silencers make your bullets subsonic
>.45 ACP hits hard enough to rupture the blood vessels in your lungs through body armor
>cops carry .40s&w because it's illegal for them to carry 9mm because gangbangers use 9mm and they don't want to get their shots mixed up

You misspelled Kleenex dipweed

I mean two 5.56 to the chest will fuck someone up something fierce, so he's not entirely wrong

Kleenex calls them "tissues", and they never held a patent on them.

You could have simply said you don't understand shit.

Attached: autistic downie.jpg (220x236, 7K)

I mean to be fair, there wouldn't be much of a heart in the first place due to 5.56's usual frangibility

You could have simply said that you never looked at the fucking patent.

"H. P. MAXIM SILENCER FOR GUNS Filed Feb. 21, 1921 Patented Feb. 5, 1924.

HIE/AM PERCY MAXIM, OF HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT.

SILENCER FOR GUNS.

Application filed February 21, 1921. Serial No. 446,822.

T 0 all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, HIRAM PERCY MAXIM, a citizen of the United States and a. resident of Hartford, county of Hartford, State of" Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in a Silencer for Guns,

of which the following is a specification.

The present invention relates to a device for silencing the noise of a gun report, and has as its object to provide a device of this sort which is of increased effectiveness in checking the powder gases and causing them to discharge gradually into the atmosphere *without noise, which is of simplified construction, and wherein the parts may be readily assembled and dissembled. A further object of-the invention is to provide an improved. tool and method for use. in assembling and dissembling the parts. In the drawings- Fig. 1 is a longitudinal sectional view through my improved silencer. I "

>Our position is that if you invented the Band Aid, we’re gunna call it a Band Aid. We sell what Hiram Percy Maxim patented in 1909 and he called it a silencer.

I wouldn't say Hipoints are perfect but they're definitely reliable compared to other cheap shit for the price

>And AAC's opinion on the matter is that you're a fag.
Oh, be still my heart! Someone who doesen't even know me "thinks I'm a fag"! I'd better tell my boyfriend!

What other gun cost $140?
a Phoenix arms ?
Just as shit not better or worse

Fudd of fudds who hunts deer with 50 bmg a fudd

Yes

> Patented Feb. 5, 1924
Patent is expired, and the name now only refers to Maxim's own design. Deal with it, champ.

Attached: Diogenes.jpg (600x450, 27K)

keyholing is a thing i guess

>>.45 ACP hits hard enough to rupture the blood vessels in your lungs through body armor
i mean, if you take a shot to a plate, you will probably get a bruise even if the plates are rated to take a higher power round

>[caliber] is too weak for whitetail, anything less than [severely overpowered caliber] is inhumane
>5.56 is a schrodinger's cat of somehow being designed to wound, yet capable of annihilation of a 200+lbs animal
>concealed carrying is a sign of mental illness/paranoia

tactical-life.com/firearms/israeli-mossad-22-lrs/

No, no it doesn't. Retards just looked up the Wikipedia page on both .308Win and 7.62NATO and saw that the pressures were 10,000 PSI apart. Instead of wondering why two calibers that are vertically identical in every way somehow has such wildly different pressures, they took it at face value. The pressure listed for 7.62NATO was an older one measured with the older crushed copper disk method, while .308's was one that was measured with the modern pieso-electric sensor.

The Wikipedia page has been corrected for years, but retards still spout this bullshit.

Saved but enjoy your 1994 AWB.

But seriously what's with boomers and F150s

What was it?

it makes them feel big and strong despite being tiny and miserable

Tits.

It will also ruin the meat

user, haven't you heard?
>If you eat an animal you shoot you get lead poisoning.

according to wikipedia
its deadly due to a combination of tumbling, fragmentation, and creation of a very large temporary wound cavity from its energy

Like 99% of NDs are because someone thought the gun was unloaded when there was one in the chamber. Why do you think pistols have warnings on the slide nowadays?

That's where soccer mom and fudd meet.

>The 556 is designed to wound not kill

Had countless Vietnam vets spew this shit to me.

>The purchase of Strawberries nor berries are subject to Fingerprinting, passports, addresses on file, or an arbitrary tax and 3-9 month wait
Except in Venezuela, of course.

I go by "verify if it's loaded every time it enters your hands"

Even if someone does a chamber check, dry fires it, then hands it to me, I'll still check check chamber and magwell before I touch the trigger.

It's not like it costs me anything to do.

>idf
>special forces
are you that dense?

Not that user but one example doesn't make it accepted.... also
>SOF
Fucking please.

>yep the russkies coated their bullits in poison back in Afghanistan that's why they were so deadly!

But that still doesn’t tell me whether or not I can shoot .308 through my metric Imbel FAL

Had some old guy at work tell me about his "Desert Eagle brand 1911". It was a "5 inch commander" and the recoil wasn't that bad because of the "gas system".

both 7.62X39 and 5.56 are FAR more deadly out past 100ish yards when they start to tumble. If you're hit in close range by a few shots of either, you'll likely survive it assuming it didn't hit something vital. At long range it's gonna shred it's way through rather than puncture.

The IDF is pretty badass especially the upper echelons... They will rip your sandnigger loving balls off(If you havn't had them removed to be a "pretty girl" yet) and crush your throat!

> car bean

This is for fucking safety. You fag

>NY Laws Penal Law Part 3 Title P Article 265.00 Definitions
>2. "Firearm silencer" means any instrument, attachment, weapon or appliance for causing the firing of any gun, revolver, pistol or other firearms to be silent, or intended to lessen or muffle the noise of the firing of any gun, revolver, pistol or other firearms.

I exclusively refer to them as suppressors as well, but he's right that laws usually refer to them as silencers.

>Citation still needed

half a dozen citations shown in minutes

you are a very lazy person

Not that user but spanish/brazilian 7.62nato was under powered and the rifles were built accordingly. It's not the same 7.62nato that has been around for the last 50 years.

And now when body armor is becoming prevalent 5.56 is becoming obsolete faster than "muh 7.62 stopping powah".
I admit both of them have their advantages.
