I see these Italian police trade ins going for 250-300 freedom bucks online.
Are they worth it Jow Forums? I couldn't daily carry one because I am not a big guy (for you) but it seems like a pretty good deal.

There is a reason these are being replaced. They are used and abused. Not to mention the magazine release in Eurocuckland is fucking retarded. Pass.
Good thread guy, we can mark this one as complete.
I would recommend going to a gun show where you can inspect the actual gun before you buy it.
But, yes, they are absolutely worth it. Only complaints I can think of are the tiny sights and unconventional mag release location.
The surplus handgun market is pretty swelled right now. Rifles are gone away, but we're seeing STARs under $200, Beretta 9s and 380s for less than $400, Maks and Toks between $2-300, and even P226s for $400. Personally, I'm taking advantage of it. I just ordered a STAR BM and a P226 this week, and I'm thinking about getting either a 380 CZ or Beretta next time the budget allows if they're still available. I'd jump on any cheap surplus opportunity if you can and you really want it. I can't imagine regretting it unless you buy something that clearly states it will be really beat up, so stay away from anything less than "fair" quality. Even then, go for "good"/"very good" or "excellent" if you can.
It's a cheap version of a Beretta 92 that you can play around with if you can't afford a new model, or if you just want to get a cheap gun that's a little more reliable than those 9mm Serbian Tokarevs.
The only reason I don't say definitely go for the Beretta 92s surplus is because I already have a new 92 and don't really need one. That said, it's a great gun if what I've heard holds true. You aren't wanting it for carry anyway. I'd say go for it
All the gun shows near me are a shit. You would think in Wisconsin they would be great, but nope. Same overpriced trash everytime.
its good for the price. sights are shit though
Do it
can you repeat the question?
you're not the boss of me now!
You're not the boss of me now!
Those are barely sights, wtf Italy
You're not the boss of me now, and you're not so big!
Do it definitely. They are in very nice shape. And shoot excellent. Unless your rich and have to have the mag release in a normal spot.
mine is really accurate thinking of painting the front sight orange and i love the euro mag release
if you don't buy one you will regret it when they are no longer on the market. I'm still kicking myself for not getting a police cz-75
I would rather have a new PT92, personally.
Also i went tot he local fudd store and they had a basket of 92 mags i was able to score two 92s cut mags both for 20$ used so keep your eyes out
what, p226 for $400? Ive never seen them go that low but I have seen everything else go for the price you said.
honestly, it's better to spend a few hundred more for a new fs. however, i've been happy with mine so far. she works fine, she don't shine.
better summed up on 92s surp:
>can you afford a new fs?
>yes
go with a new fs
>no
either save up a little more or get the 92s
i got mine because it was cheap and didn't want to spend too much on a pistol. however, a new fs or a fn 45 would be my next pistol. although, i don't want to get so many guns that some just gather dust...it makes me sad to them just sit
Suck that shit up m8.
>tfw got a barely used .40 USP police trade in
>200 shots
>same shop has winchester white box .40 for .22 per shot which is less than online.
don't be this guy, i was once considering this until the milsurp came
They're worth it. I have 2. Love them.
It's a very solid buy. Go for it and be happy
>if you don't buy one you will regret it when they are no longer on the market.
ALL OF THIS OP
I kick myself for not buying a P38 when they were selling for $299 all day everyday
>50% finish
>european mag release
>can't use new factory mags
>3/5ths the price of a full list new 92fs
they're solid guns but you're literally going to spend $200 in the first month on ammo so why be a poorfag?
now these guys for $150 to $200 are a different story
>police issue so never fired+holster wear
>90% finish or reblued
>neat design no longer made
>stable as fuck due to being a solid steel handgun you could pistol whip someone to death with
>normal mag release
>1911 style takedown
>mags cost $10 (while you can still get them)
>one I own and one I've played with both mechanically perfect with less slide rattle than a new colt or springfield 1911
only "bad thing"
>8+1 capacity
i gave sweaty ben the extra shekels for hand select on both that & the star bm & i was not disappointed
Shit. I almost might get one, that's cheaper than the dirt cheap .380s i was looking at getting for my first handgun.
>can't use new factory mags
i have seen comments online that the new, factory beretta 92fs magazines have the appropriate cut for the heel mag release
Fuck I'm really not sure.
I promised I'd wait a while before buying anything new, and I wanted a compact pistol for easy CC'ing.
But $200 with free shipping on this looks too good to miss out on.
it's about the size of a glock 19 so it is a compact, not a subcompact. A bit smaller than a colt commander. But it's thin. Stars allegedly have tight chambers, but with nothing but a cleaning I was able to magdump 250 rounds without a single failure to fire.
The things are fucking nice. I went through centerfire systems and the only thing wrong with it is a scratch on the slide and some tiny wear marks. The classic $160 poorfag special I saw had the slide heavily scrubbed and the whole thing was reblued, but internally was solid as a rock.
compared to a fucking taurus or keltec, it's in a different league. $700 tier handgun when made.
Life is unfair
So definitely one of these over a PF9 or the like?
I'm still too new to actually handling guns IRL to know quality in my hands and my budget's still tight. The cheap 380s felt okay to handle.
How hard would something like this be to CC?
Is that second from the right pistol a 92S? How did they put the mag release on the side?
AIM and Sportsman both have good condition for $400. Sportsman gets you two mags and free shipping, AIM guarantees night sights. Honestly Sportsman is the better deal, but I went with AIM before I knew about that. Oh well. P226 mags are cheap enough.
Where the hell are you finding $10 magazines for these?
it'd be an IWB gun and generally the rule is to not use surplus for CC but this is Jow Forums and half of these guys are rocking bulgarian makarovs with ball ammo.
the PF9 is a meh gun and is not fun to shoot. no subcompact is fun to shoot. for a pocket gun a LCPII or LC9spro is the way to go unless you intend to go gucci and get a kimber solo carry or sig 938.
for a truck box gun or IWB occasionally I'd carry a star. The things are solid fucking pistols.
And unlike a subcompact tupperware gun the thing is fucking fun to shoot and can actually hit a target past 5 yards.
*20
but sweaty ben has em at 25 now so the supply is dwindling. I've got 3 and it's enough dakka
It's used. desu I feel like the Beretta 92 is a firearm JMB would have approved of. EXCEPT for the grip, which is shit. You really need to have slightly larger hands to really get a good grip. But the recoil is almost non-existent so maybe that's reason enough to forgive the xbox grip.
Fuck.
Well, I'm going for it then.
smga.com
These guys good? Says free shipping.
Now I just need to figure out how the hell to do shipping and FFL stuff.
Beretta PX4 costs $125 more and is 100% more gun, if you want an inexpensive Beretta.
anybody know where I can find a STAR B? Maybe a Super B? Need that full size 9.
missed the boat, expect to get shekeled by a guy on armslist cuz muh nazi gun (commercial model post war) I know wut I got. 3-500 dollarydoos for a B or Super B. Just buy a new 92fs
thanks mate
What are the other sick dealz, guis?
new factory 15 round 92 fs mags have the cut for the s
yes they can use the new factory mags just the 15 round ones
>>mags cost $10 (while you can still get them)
no lol
Sending a round down one of those barrels would be like throwing a hot dog down a hallway.
While it is luck of the draw the one I got looked nearly unfired.
>LEOs
>Firing their weapons at all
Lol no one fucking goes to the range unless they have to.
upvoted.
so i'm a "qualified professional" at buds and browsing their QP stock i find a Beretta M9A1.
should i buy an M9A1? the rail is bulky, the frame is alloy (regardless of strength, i just don't like top-heavy gats or the feel of aluminum), and apparently they're hard to find holsters for. also some of the components have been switched out to synethetics like some of the controls and the guide rod of all things. seems like a boondoggle.
i could get a CZ 75 B for much less. i didn't like my service pistol but apparently grips are thinner now and a new pistol obviously won't shoot like a beat to shit pistol. what do guys. CZ looks dope.
All of those issues you listed are non issues. All the polymer parts were low stress parts that don't really need to be steel, and the alloy frame does not make the gun top heavy.
one rabbi will say yes, other rabbi will say no
thanks man, this is the cheapest ive seen a p226 go for. For sure might get one once I get payed.
coltwood grips..hnnnnngg
Even Classic selling these at $200 are not really worth it. The amount you have to spend on parts to make the double action and the risk you take to damaging the hammer strut make it not worthwhile. But if you buy it as a cheap Makarov-ish range toy then its ok I guess.
Damn these are clean, where did you guys pick yours up?
post pic
I really like my 92s, the trigger is great and once I dremeled down the grips it’s much more comfortable. Also, in terms of mags, you can always cut an appropriate mag release hole(or so I’ve heard).
The one I got is pretty nice. It was missing the hammer release lever and pin, but that was just $5 worth of parts, and a bit of time filing the pin to the right size (because I accidentally ordered the one for the 92fs). The finish is nice, although the serrations in the slide are worn, and don't offer much grip for racking the slide. You'll also probably want to replace the magazine spring, most of them seem to be pretty worn out; because of this, mine doesn't always lock open on empty. Overall, it was worth the price!
RGuns has some for $325.
Mine was in mediocre shape, looked like it had been sanded and had some pitting.
It also wasn't too reliable but accuracy was good.
I wont say you shouldn't buy one, but realize that the cheaper BMs are going to be better quality (which is to be expected, WW2 vs police issue).
How about those surplus CZ83s, tho?
To be fair most of those were actually P-1's, and there were legit some P-1's being marketed as P-38's or some other cobblefuckery, even then most of the P-38's made were post war.
Manhurin made P-1's for West German police forces (as well as P-38's and P-4s)
P-38's were made 39'-45' in Nazi Germany. The French (Manhurin) had some made 45'-46', and the Germans resumed production in 57' up until 63' before switching to the Aluminum Framed P-1.
My bubba’d grips
They didn't want to ruin the AESTHETIC of the gun
I kinda want one of these FEG .380 PPK clones, I see them for about $250-$300 on GB. Anyone have any experience?
not with the ppk copy but the quality of the other products of theirs I've encountered is excellent.
What of theirs have you owned?
>Are they worth it Jow Forums?
Ehh, I hate thumb mounted safety's. My thumb is just a little too short to engage it without having to tilt the gun. For that price I'd just take a Taurus 92/99. Anymore they're just about the same quality and they have a slide mounted safety.
Both are those are me. I got it at Dk firearms.
92fs mags have the cut but only factory 15 rounders
