So Jow Forums I’m debating getting a handgun for concealed carry. My limit is $500 and I don’t know weather or not to get a trigger saftey. What pistol do you think I should get? Pic unrelated just an image I saved

Glock 19 if you can carry a double stack, glock 43 if you want a single stack. Yes, its cool to have nice aesthetic guns but leave that shit for the range, when lives are on the line you want a tool, not a conversation piece. Just get a glock
Glocks are just reliable, accurate, light, low maintenance, customizable, easy to get parts, easy to conceal, come in a variety of calibers, and are high capacity. Combine that with a long track record in police and military around the world, it's hard to beat. For a new shooter it's a great choice. If you're female or a small guy be aware that limp wristing is a possibility though.
if you really don't want a glock, the m&p line and Walther pp series are also excellent. For ccw, go glock, m&p, or walther, and get the size and fit you want. Just my 0.02.
If you want a revolver the ruger LCR is great but it's hard to shoot for beginners and low capacity, but it can't be limpwristed or pushed out of battery.
Glock 19, 26 or 43 depending on what feels best.
G26
Like he said, get something basic and pure utility for your first gun. My recommendations would be Glock 19, Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0, Sig P320, Springfield XD, and I'm sure there are other great starters but those are 4 off the top of my head. I would advise against an all steel gun or for your first carry. It's nice to have a lightweight basic striker fired gun without a manual safety or hammer to start with and develop your own tastes and preferences to compare to based off of that.
Most important to start off with is a great quality holster. I was a Jew when I started carrying and picked up a cheap holster off Amazon for $20. I hated it, and on hot days at work I wouldn't carry. You need to carry at all times so get a holster that's comfortable and secure so the thought of taking it off won't be on your mind.

You'll hear a lot of people in this thread telling you to get a Glock, and it's going to be very tempting to listen to them. The Glock has a lot of things going for it, from durability to simplicity. But that's not why people buy a Glock. People buy a Glock because people are told to buy a Glock. Most of these folks telling others to buy a Glock aren't firearms enthusiasts. They want a gun in case they need to defend themselves, or they keep it in the nightstand or their cars "just in case", but they rarely use it. If you think you need a gun for these purely utilitarian reasons, go right ahead. It is absolutely perfect for it. Everyone should have a gun to protect their lives and their livelihoods and the lives of those they love. But if you love guns, and you're one of those who want to shoot your gun every weekend at the range, and you want to get to know your gun, to cherish it, and to keep it in good condition as an heirloom, then don't waste your time with a Glock. You're going to find out very quickly that the Glock is lacking in many departments. The trigger is mushy with a break like a baby carrot, the frame feels light and weirdly clammy, and the fit and finish is only adequate. The Glock is a working man's gun, but it's not the gun of a firearms enthusiast, and it isn't the gun for Jow Forums. For the very reason they say to get a Glock, don't. There's a reason the aftermarket is so vast for those things. Millions of regretful Glock owners trying to make that tool into something it will never be. You don't hang a hammer above the mantel, friend. But if you need a hammer to get the job done, by all means.
Sig 365
Micro Compact at 10+1
great grips, no external parts
surprisingly smooth trigger pull
>t, Ron Cohen
Are you trying to get someone killed? Quit joking.
not understanding the memes
I own one and it is my favorite CC so far
how does a 365 get someone killed?
They're just trying to be funny. Obviously they aren't, but they can't help but center their lives around memes.
Ron shouldn't you be on the phones with your street shitter suppliers, not misleading people on Jow Forums?
Never buy a Sig gun early into it's life cycle. Maybe you got lucky and got a good one like Nutnfancy did, but they're generally plagued by design issues that sometimes get sussed out and fixed in later generations and Sig QC in general has been shit lately. If you want a P226 for the range, fine, but I wouldn't count on their newer guns for CC.
>nutn always says he is just a sample size of one
>makes blanket statements dismissing others problems making his video sound like a SIG commercial
god damn is he irritating
The 365s came out with a defect that caused them to go off if they were struck or dropped.
That's not even the fucking meme, you retard! The P365s couldn't fire upside down, and it was the P320s that fired when dropped. How many layers of fucking bullshit are you even on? For fucks sake I'm asking anyone who will respond to this does anyone actually believe this drivel?! Who the fuck are these shitposters and where do they come from?
that was the 320
365 is striker/firing pin/trigger spring breakages
>REEE STOP INSULTING MY DEFECTIVE GUN!
Should bought a P226, poorfag.
The P365 can ONLY fire upside down if one of the internal springs breaks.
You made some good points, but he's asking for a ccw weapon. Ccw weapons aren't chosen based on aesthetics they're based on reliability, weight, compactness, capacity, and accuracy for which a glock is perfect. If he was asking for a pistol in general yeah I see where you're coming from. But a ccw isn't for showing off and cherishing, it's for protecting your life. Now, a range gun, or something you want as a heirloom? I agree with you 100%, a nice hi power, revolver, or 1911 would be sweet for those purposes. But I wouldn't want to daily carry any of those over a glock. And a new shooter would definitely be better off with a glock (or m&p, walther, whatever). Can the 1911/hi power/revolver work as ccw weapons? Of course. But not as well as a glock. And a glock could work as a show piece/heirloom but not as well as those other pieces. Just my opinion.
I also love taking the glock to the range I think it's very fun to practice with. Not as fun to fondle as some pistols but I like shooting it.
Get your shit straight, faggot. I don't even own either of those guns. And I just bought a P226. It's on the way to my FFL this week. I want to know why the fuck you spew bullshit like some gay little cherryboi after a rimjob on taco night about shit you know nothing about.

Hey, I won't disagree. If he wants a Glock as a carry gun he should go ahead and do it, by all means. But that's if he wants a Glock. It seems like the easy choice but in the end that's all it is. Easy. A "no-brainer". Put a little work into your decision and you'll find that Glock has fallen behind. It's just not the best option anymore when you can have your cake and eat it too. SIG has your P320 and your P365, and despite all the memes they are very solid choices. I myself carry a P938. The M&P 2.0 is now every bit as good as your stock Glock and it's $100 cheaper. Walther offers the P99 and HK has compact versions of both the VP9 and the P30. It's not as simple as just going Glock and getting the best of the best. Not anymore. Not by a long shot. Glock needs to step up their game and everyone who buys a new Glock with all this considered is just enabling them to remain mediocre. But go ahead and go with the Glock if that is what you want. The best choice for your gun is always going to be the one that's best for you.
FNS-9 (compact model available)
Glock whatever
Sig SP2022
Beretta APX (compact model available)
Walther PPQ (subcompact model available)
HK VP9/P30 (SK models available)
SW M&P
There are a shit ton of options out there. Go to a gun store and find what you think fits great in your hand.
Get an HK mk23. Anyone who says anything else is just trolling.
92fs for maximum aesthetic
Glocks are just a phase in the firearms scene. Irregardless of how popular they are now or will become, they will fade away like the next big thing whenever it comes around and replaces Glocks and honestly the whole "striker-fired" meme. It's this obsession with disposability that causes this whole trend. Cheap, mass produced pistols for everyone. Be ahead of the curve and realize that some guns stick around for a reason. It's always a safe bet to go with whatever the military is using. (Even if their most recent choice was a big mistake, they'll replace it within a couple of years.) That's why the 1911 or the Beretta are good, safe choices. CZ is also a good choice. If you must go with a tupperware gun, at least get one with a hammer because strikers are known to fail or even go off unexpectedly. And while it seems like you need something small and compact for carry, it's not really true. You can easily conceal a full sized weapon and a spare mag or two under the hem of your shirt. Even if someone catches a glimpse of it peeking out it's not a big deal. What are they going to do, anyway? Lol. Just my two cents.
>irregardless
I’m sorry I stopped reading there
One of the least educated posts ive ever seen. Im about to expose you.
You're saying to go with what the military uses right? You realize that the Navy seals, marine recon, and other US special forces use the glock? Austria, england, and more use the glock as standard issue pistols in their militaries. The majority of police departments in the US also use glock. Your argument doesn't make any sense.
Striker mechanism isn't a "meme" it's used in every modern rifle, and naturally expanded to pistols. Striker mechanisms do not just "go off" you're an idiot, in the glock the striker isnt even resting fully cocked so even if it did it wouldn't set off a round, the trigger has to be pulled to fully cock the striker, and there's a firing pin block. The only way a glock can go off is if the trigger is pulled it's mechanical fact it will not "just go off" on its own. If, by your logic, strikers are known to fail (which is hilariously false) then the striker mechanisms in ar15''s, ak''s, and more would too.
You're telling a new carrier to carry a full size metal pistol? And saying that printing is ok? You're a fool.
For all of the reasons above, you're a moron. Educate yourself before posting again.
Let me correct myself, the AR and ak aren't striker fired, but all bolt actions are.
Had about 5 people bring back their p365 with broken firing pins. Each gun had less than 500 before it happened. The gun is still early to be used for CC. I love the concept but the execution wasn't pulled off well
500 rounds* sorry about that. Once that gets resolved it'll be a fantastic weapon
Please, tell us your expert analysis of what we're looking at here.
Be specific about what is good and what is bad.
I already fucking told you that the reason Glocks are so popular is because they're cheap and the company sells them at a discount to government institutions in order to market their pistols to the public. It doesn't make the pistols good or even safe. Negligent discharges went up exponentially in these organizations who chose the Glock and you have the audacity to call me a fool? And don't try to tell me that special forces use the Glock that's fucking false. They are at a high enough echelon that they are given a choice of weapons depending on personal ability and skillset. If you think they would choose a basic bitch Glock you're a big enough schmuck to buy one yourself. And to address your "argument" relating pistols to rifles, first of fucking all, the AR15 has a HAMMER. And any rifle that does use a striker system has a large enough receiver that the system can be designed to be robust and proper safety systems can be implemented. You didn't expose me, you queer. Don't even bother responding.
How about an actual argument next time, bitch? I know that irregardless isn't a word I was being IRONIC.
Save up $800, buy pic related and don’t look back.
>Warning: Fires without magazine
Hard pass.
Are you blind perhaps?
Those are new guns from a gunshop.
I'm constantly amazed at how stupid people are when handling firearms. It's not rocket surgery.
Let me guess, you're the kind of guy that gets barked at by the RO at least once every time you're at the range.
Can you tell me the first rule without looking it up?
That looks an awful lot like a glock ND.
The amount of butt hurt is amazing.
What the fuck are you talking about? Are you seriously defending that retarded warning on the side of an otherwise AESTHETIC gun? Do you need all these "rules" of gun "safety" printed on all your guns? Are you by chance underage?
Don't talk about Fight Club
Tristar P-120 (CZ SP-01 clone), if you are okay with no rail they have non railed models as well.
Don't buy CZ, clones are just as good now, and take the same parts and mags (EAA, Tristar, Sarsilmaz, IWI, Tangfoglio, etc)
It has a fucking safety, you can't honestly tell me you like magazine disconnects -there aren't many guns made with them.
>complains about lack of a useless safety feature
>posts picture of an ND
>"WHY THE FUCK DO YOU THINK IM TALKING ABOUT NDs I JUST THINK THE WRITING IS UGLY!"
Negligent discharges with a glock are caused by user error. Special forces do use the glock. Volt actions use striker actions. Glocks do have the proper safety systems and cannot go off on their own it's physically impossible. You're a low iq faggot now go walk around printing with your fullsize so a soccer mom calls the cops on you.
i never payed attention to czs before.
the cz75 has a decocker?
Why are you lumping me in with that guy?
Get a 3” revolver

he's a big guy up in the sky now
As soon as there is a pistol with as good of a bore axis and grip angle I will gladly trade. I have old Hi Powers and Lugers for heirlooms, but when it comes to actual fighting handguns, glocks are the best.
It's not a crime to carry a gun, faggot.
It was an accident! I was trying to post that image in a different thread.
Well how the fuck else are you supposed to get the magazine out, asshole?!
That was meant for a different thread
Fucking hell, I just realised something. Neu-sigs are such trash that people get confused as to which horrific flaw goes with each gun. I mean, sigs have always been poorly designed and overly expensive, but it has gotten bad.
>sigs have always been poorly designed
They are too heavy, ugly, and have bad bore axis compared to their competition.
>too heavy
No
>ugly
No
>muh bore axes
doesn't even matter
>weight does not matter
Why have something that holds the same amount of rounds in the same caliber that weighs less
>bore axis doesn't matter
You never took physics, did you? A pistol with a higher bore axis will inherently have more muzzle climb than one with a lower bore axis, all other things equal. Sure, 9mm doesn't recoil all that much, but why make it more than it has to? Why be slower than what is possible, especially when you are spending more and accepting a heavier pistol?
>Well how the fuck else are you supposed to get the magazine out, asshole?!
You don't know what a magazine disconnect is? I'll give you a hint... it's different than a magazine release.
This is some next level autism right here
>recommending CZ's

M&P shield or if you can muster it a Glock 19 M&PC 2.0, PX4C something along those lines.
