What you're looking at is a firearm with a 14" barrel. That's 4" less than what a shotgun can legally be without being registered as a SBS.
The advantage to this is essentially having a short barreled shotgun without having to register it at a federal level.

Technically, you can also put a """brace""" on one of these too since that is not a stock, like an SB Tactical brace, and you can shoulder it per the ATF. It's like the AR pistol of the shotgun world.

There are no pistol grips that I'm aware of that meet the required 26 1/2" with a 14" barrel. Only the birds-head grip is long enough. Now you can do like this user and brace it, which is also legal.
