How would you feel if Glock was able to produce a Glock brand, striker-fired, AR? Would something even be marketable? Even if they did bother to overcome the engineering challenges, it would be a drastically different direction for the company, and risky, considering they failed to jump on the modular AR bandwagon. If they could make one that had a lightweight polymer lower, and under $600, I think I'd buy one for the novelty of it.

i would buy it so hard. i buy everything that glock makes

No thanks. I'd rather see Glock come up with their own carbine design, preferably something that's not derivative of the AR-15 or AR-18.

is this bait

>under $600,
>implying their AR wouldn't be as overpriced as their handguns
It's be $900+ minimum.

They'd definitely be overpriced. I think if the average AR is going for 400, they'd slap a 800 sticker, and call it a day. Then again, a high price for an AR that has almost no overlap in aftermarket parts with literally almost every other AR would make it a huge turnoff. They'd have to swallow their pride, and drop the price if they ever wanted it to be competitive. AR variant or not. At least until Glockbois sustain the market themselves with their loyalty long enough for the aftermarket to catch up

I bet glock could make an AR right now and it would sell. Or even just lowers.

Why would anybody want a striker fired rifle? Who would choose a long sloppy trigger pull over a smooth crisp single action in a rifle?

This. I'm surprised they haven't already done lowers

You realize nearly all bolt actions are striker fired, yes?

>Why would anybody want a striker fired rifle?
Because reasons

which is why they're so inaccurate

Just get used to the trigger pull

>Glock brand AR
Glock needs to make a Glock 1911 and a Glock Tacticool revolver

would unironically buy Glock revolver for that sci-fi aesthetic

Why would they? Every dollar they invest into handgun production yields better returns than if it were to go into rifle production.

People and agencies are buying Glocks up like hot cakes. As long as that's happening, I don't really see Glock bothering with the rifle market.

The last thing the market needs is more ARs.

Smart man

You know, technically all ARs are striker fired.

They should make a 26" overall length striker fire bullpup with top full length rail and glock brand glock polymer frame + m-lok cut outs.
Keep it under 1k and you'd have the most reliable utilitarian rifle out there.

No thank you

>striker-fired, AR?
Why?

Striker fired as in glock style where the trigger pull is cocking the striker spring back. This requires the trigger pull to be long in order to give the leverage to compress the spring.

I'm assuming OP meant an AR with trigger like all glocks have.

They can't live off selling one handgun forever, despite the current market
