Does Ruger not use locktite? I saw none on the screw when I took the grip off. Seems pretty shoddy and is putting me off of ruger products

Man, I love this little thing. Now I know yall are going to tell me that there's no place for a 22 carry piece, but I've Been able to get consistent headshots at 5 yards so I'm pretty confident pocket carrying this thing.

What is the "best" cheap AF .22 revolver?

I was considering getting a Heritage Rough Rider I've seen a few on GunBroker for as little as $120, just wanted to know if anyone had other suggestions.

Buying it for my girlfriend, she really likes shooting my older .22 revolver so I thought I would get her one of own for Christmas.

P30 is going to have more modern sights and controls in terms of size relation. Both will have pretty typical spongy, but consistent HK triggers with a lot of take up and some travel to the reset.
Jet funnel USP will give you cool factor times (X) for sure
holster options are probably split for each in terms of availability - the P30 will carry "easier" (body, style and lifestyle dependent)

Either one will be well suited for practical and range use.

Anyone have experience with Browning's .380 1911s? I've been trying to get the missus into shooting and God knows there ain't no better platform than the 1911. But I'm afraid it might be a bit much for her and this pocket 1911 looked like just what she needed.
I know Rock Island makes their own .380 1911 but it just don't seem right using a 1911 not made in good old America, so I want to avoid that if I can.

Now I don't know about you but after Bill's death, Ruger clearly lost their way. I can't recommend their guns in good faith if you know what I mean.

Mine loosened up pretty quickly back when i owned a SR1911, just keep an eye on them although locktite wouldn't be a bad idea if you really worry. Ruger 1911s are pretty good bang for their buck DESU, but it's also true that for 2-300 more you can take a moderately sized step up in terms of quality.

Oh and just to be clear neither the grip screws on my ruger or dan wesson were locktited. I wouldn't really hold it against them too much

No experience but they seem well regarded.

Minor heads up: the frame is polymer and they are quite tiny. Those could be advantages or disadvantages to you.

Pistol's fine, sound a bit overpaid tho.

Just tighten it up again but don't crank it down like a gorilla because it's quite easy to crack grips or strip the escutcheons. Turn till it stops then another 1/8 turn. I wouldn't use loctite because it gets everywhere but you could I guess. imo just retighten and watch.

it's a CRDC on duty laser and nope, they haven't made them since the mid 90s
there's a slightly shorter on duty II on ebay but it's a lot more expensive than the one I got, and they're real uncommon

Not really that expensive after some mathing...the basic G43 was $450, the Hackathorn sights are $80, add in the S/H and sight tool and convenience...I think I did arright.

For the USP series you can do a match trigger, or a LEM-Match hybrid
For the P30 series there's the TLG V1 (heavier trigger return spring) and the V4.1 (shorter overall pull, more "rolling" - less staged- don't quote me on the 4.1 but I'm in the ball park)
But if you want a range gun trigger, the USP with the match parts will be an easier path than anything P30

Heritage Rough rider satisfied my wheel gun itch. 6.5" Barrel and single action trigger is hella good for a $140 gun.
