Hey so I want to get the pietta 1860 snub and then get a cylinder conversion for cartridge's when I don't feel like fucking around with ball and cap to shoot it. But if I convert the cylinder do I got to worry about any FFL bullshit?
Hey so I want to get the pietta 1860 snub and then get a cylinder conversion for cartridge's when I don't feel like...
no
Really? I figured not cause you'd still have to take down the gun to load but it still seems too convenient to have the set up
The frame is the firearm. Black powder frame is still not a firearm even with cartridges.
Oh sweet! Hey has anyone had any experience with the pietta? I really love the entire look and have seen a lot of good reviews but I can't help but wonder if there's anything better unless it's better to just make your own belly gun.
This 51 colt navy seems pretty baller but I'd imagine chopping down the gun yourself is dumb and probably more time than its worth
Quit being gay. Go buy a gun. The fatass behind the counter making $10/hr should be scared of YOU.
It's more that I simply don't want to respect bureaucracy. So out of principle I really try to weasel around regulations. So 80% lowers and the like is really my thing.
t. atf
t. felon
So which felony did you commit OP?
>it's still not a firearm
"No"
Putting a cartridge firing cylinder would qualify as manufacturing a firearm.
This still wouldn't require contacting an FFL in any state that I know of though. Some shitholes (like MA/NY) require you to have a license just to posses a handgun though.
Good man. Look into 80% Glock lowers while you're at it. You should also consider private sales if your state isn't gay.
Fuck off, cunts. The 4473 is a registration scheme.
>Fuck off, cunts. The 4473 is a registration scheme.
Then he would get an 80% or buy a real handgun in a private transaction. The only reason to try and finagle real cartridges into something that's legally a non-firearm is if you're legally barred from owning firearms.
Private sales are not a thing in many states. If you want a revolver and private sales are not an option, then you have few choices.
Cuckifornians and Coasties in general shouldn't own guns anyway, they're a weak bloodline that's polluting the gene pool.
Shit you could make your own handgun, a glock or sig for instance
>coastal state
>hardly any state gun laws
Lick my taint
I'd rather not, I might catch something from your borderline-yuropeon ass. Like AIDS, or smugness.
I'm not a felon I just really really hate that the state has to put its hands all over what ever I own and tell me what I can and can't do with my money so if my guns are as undocumented as possible as legally as possible but still sneaky enough to keep their nose out my shit everyone wins.
How's your diabeetus, Cletus?
>The only reason to try and finagle real cartridges into something that's legally a non-firearm is if you're legally barred from owning firearms.
>The only reason
What about spite? I want to get a black powder gun converted to modern cartridges just to spite you now faggot.
This guy gets it. Yeah it's really just to say fuck you to silly rules that compels me to venture into this build. That and the fact that BP snub nose revolvers are pretty choice in aesthetics, I simply don't want to dick around with the cap and ball process every time I want to use it. Plus If I ever did want to cc a fucken model 1860 it would be marginaly more feasible and absolutely fun as fuck larping as a old West saloon gambler.
Sexy. The more I look the more I'm thinking plated and ivory grips would look gorgeous.
So you got $450 for the conversion but won't buy a regular gun, your a felon, and a stupid one at that
not a felon just hate rules and want something silly to throw money at. sorry you're such a straight laced boring stickler
if you are doing for yourself and it isn't an NFA item, knock yourself out
converting it to take cartridges makes it a firearm from an ATF point of view
as a private citizen, not otherwise barred from ownership, you may make or modify for yourself as long as it's not an NFA item
if you can legally own a firearm, you can do this FROM A FEDERAL STANDPOINT
You sound gay
No, you don't have to deal with any FFL bullshit when you get a conversion cylinder. However, you do have to deal with conversion cylinder bullshit. They are all aftermarket, made completely independently of Pietta with no hard guarantee they will work out of the box, and none of their makers offer refunds. It may not work, you may have to do a fair amount of amateur gunsmithing to make it work, and the gun+conversion cylinder together *will* cost more than getting a cartridge based snub-nosed revolver.
Is avoiding filling out a 4473 really worth the hassle you're signing up for? In retrospect, my experience has left me with the opinion that it is not.
It's really not that much seeing that the cost is somewhere in the range of $300-$400 at the very most. yea it's easier to fill out a 4473 but fuck the ATF. Why do I need permission from a bunch of cocksuckers to wait and see if I can buy something I want? But on the topic of the cylinders though, I heard that some may not be very tight in tolerance but is it really that hard to tweak? I mean Im familiar with tools although I may not be machinist level. At what potential difficulty could it really be to have it fitting well?
