Pic related. Those are just the rifle restrictions. AR's, AK's and other guns are banned by name, so only military or LEO can buy new "assault weapons", otherwise you need to buy one that was registered with the state by April 1, 2014.
Currently some shops are selling AR others, but who knows how long that will last.

Poor form. You put down all that cash to avoid 4% (I hope) interest when anyone who knows the first thing about financial markets could beat 4% easily. If you invest 400k in a house in 30 years you have a house. It may have increased in value but it is only a house, a thing that you need. If you invest 400k in ETFs and wait 30 years you would have easily 5 million.

Beating 4% investing sounds great until you get hit with a 30%+ loss due to a market correction every 10 years or so which makes it much harder to average a better than 4% return over the course of a few decades as well as the fact that you are assuming the market can only go up for the next 30 years ( go look up Japan's stock market since the 1990s and glance at a possible future for reference )
