Give me one good reason why the National Guard shouldn't be abolished.
National Guard
Natural disasters
we have to guard our nationals
Because it means you only have to put-up with Army bullshit on weekends instead of all the time.
natural disasters
rioting niggers

>Give me one good reason why the National Guard shouldn't be abolished.
give me one good reason why you shouldn't have been aborted.
States rights. Technically it belongs to that state.
Because ANG jets keep the skies commie-free in the case of SHTF
Not abolished. Removed from Federal Control and placed under the control of it's respective state, sure. A standing force of MILITIA whose primary purpose is to respond to disasters and problems WITHIN IT'S OWN BORDERS would be great. The state Legislature would have to vote "yes" to committing troops to any foreign venture and have the Governor sign off on it before any of it's National Guard could be sent to fight elsewhere, and then only on a volunteer basis.
So sort of what said.
A better question would be "Give me reasons why the Draft and a standing national army shouldn't be abolished"
>Natural disasters
>Riots
>Reserve soldiers for fed. gubmint
>State guards
>So sort of what (You) said.
>A better question would be "Give me reasons why the Draft and a standing national army shouldn't be abolished"
It's a component of the standing army, not a standing army. It doesn't draft. Nobody has ever wanted to abolish the standing army it needs cadre to train people for times when it's needed. It expands and contracts historically based on that need. Technology to fight wars has expanded and the cadre needed to support that has as well. The draft on the other hand, I use to think mandatory conscription was a good thing until I was in the military. A lot of people are just not suited for it. I practically think most contracts should be shorter on average so you don't get stuck with people that are going to act like conscripts for years on end. They can be made to perform but that's not the best circumstance. I really think there should be an entirely different branch altogether for conscripts, sort of what France did with their Foreign Legion.
Are you talking about the US National Guard or the individual States' National Guards?
Are you even aware that there is a difference?
because without it the US would be a 2nd rate conventional military power compared to Russia and China and even maybe turkey.
the US has tiny full time army compared to its competitors the NG already picks up a ton of slack
Isn't that what the army reserves are for?
You just gave me a headache.
Blair Mountain
West Virginia desolved their guard at the start of WW1 and never reinstated it. Therefore the Feds kept pushing responsibility off onto state police until things got so far out of control federal troops had to be called in
Because the Army Reserve doesn't have combat arms.
The Nat Guard was the original state militia but it has been turned into another Fed Army by Globalists
They make up 40% of the armys combat units
Rioters
Guardood here. We dont really do much during riots but show of force, often not even being issued ammunition. Natural disasters on the other hand, we're all about. Every year in this fine CALIREEE state we get called up for fire missions. Other states I've seen put to use soldiers for relief efforts in all other natural disasters, flood, nadoes, fire, errething.
Also we all bout that border mission! Please dont let them cut that mission, we like it, half the nation likes it, pls keep illegals out.
>Guardood here. We dont really do much during riots but show of force, often not even being issued ammunition
Fucking what
it should. It's as useless as tits on a bull.
The US got invaded and conquered by 36,000,000 illegals and these fucks didn't do shit.
Just abolish them and give the money to ICE instead. ANG are traitors and every one of them should be jailed and leadership sent to gallows.
Reserves is federally funded, Guard is state funded.
Guard reports to the governor/state adjutant general. Guard swears a different oath (including the Governor in the constitution) than Reserves and Active.
>I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the State of (STATE NAME) against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the Governor of (STATE NAME) and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to law and regulations. So help me God.

>I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.
If deployment speed isn't a critical issue, the Guard gives you 90% of the capability at about 15% of the total cost compared to active duty. The cost savings are massive. And it's how the system was designed to run.
If we had a guard centric military like the founders intended, it would actually be considerably more technologically advanced and will equipped, if the same budget levels were maintained.
Are you unaware there is currently a WV National Guard?
>ANG
ARNG is Army National Guard.
ANG is Air.
Liability, usually.
It's not just MP or infantry battalions that get called up for riot service. POGs get the notice, too.
The sad state of things is that at least 50% of your fellow Guardsmen only shoot once a year (IF EVEN THAT, DEPENDING ON GODDAMN FUNDING) during qualification. The rest of the time they barely know the difference between a mag release and a bolt hold.
Would you really want to give those types of soldiers free access to ammo stateside? Downrange it's different. There's less uproar if somebody shoots a goat fucker because he didn't follow your directions and started getting aggressive.
If some improperly trained PFC shot a civilian because they were getting in their face the ass-fucking would be intense and unavoidable.
