>if a little is good a lot must be great
No. You don't slather the knife with oil like a rack of ribs. Enough to adequately coat and a few more drops beyond that plus what's already on your stone. Then you wipe off the excess.

>Jow Forums is too autistic to infer data from a metaphor and needs their hand held the whole way while explaining every last detail
Sounds about right honestly, this is no longer a forum it's a fucking search engine.

Fallkniven DC4. No oil or water. Does a nice job.

>metaphor
> like oil on ribs

I could write a thesis paper on how many levels of retarded your post is

I have some japanese waterstones but I'm paranoid of rust after using it. Would some remoil or ballistol applied liberally after be a good rust preventative? Stick in a bag of rice?

>I use scholarly words to make others think I'm smart
Cool, I'll take a medium cup of coffee there english major.

>knowing what a metaphor or thesis paper is requires a college level education

user, I'm honestly impressed you remember to breath

>Scholarly - Related to college and college only
You might want to ask for a refund on your diploma bud.

Perpetually bootyblasted, the damage control is real. Just admit you find these concepts intimidating and we'll let you get back to your shift.

Quality deflection.

No one here knife sharpens

Anyone who thinks waterstones will cause your knife to rust while sharpening has never actually used waterstones to sharpen a knife.

Oilstones aren't that messy if you don't use way too much oil. You just need enough light mineral oil to create a very thin coat on the stone.

>not sharpening knives under the sink while it's running
