Would it be possible to make a weapon system that fed from p90 mags through the side like a old Sten and type 100 smgs?

Why wouldn't it be

empties the left mag, then the top mag, then the right mag

Does seman cause rust if you don't clean it up immediately?

Well considering the mag aligns the rounds lengthwise in relation to the mag, youd have to put in a system to rotate them another 90 degrees in line with the bore, which is kinda retarded, youd be better off making your own polymer mag.

this deserves its own thread

Should I lube up my magazines for easy insertion/ejection?

no, not worth it

Into the gun? No.
Into yourself? Depends on your preferences.

What's the least expensive yet reliable scope and red dot for a shtf AR?

Vortex.

Would this be worth it for 600? Just really want a carbine but not too hot about the folding stock

Forgot the pic. Sorry guys

why do pistols have such a slow twist rate compared to rifles? especially considering they often shoot heavier bullets

but you don't, the mags already do that.
this

hahaha oops
this

$200 is a bit much for me

i think its the fact that most modern rifle cartridges are spitzer shaped, for example the Five-seven has a 1:9 twist witch is pretty standard among rifles. So maybe the round ammo doesn't really benefit from a higher twist?

length of the projectile

If it's something you plan on betting your life on, vortex is the bare minimum.
But if you REEEALLY cant afford it, get some magpul MBUS iron sights.
If you NEES a red dot, the Bushnell trs25 is alright

who NEEDS a red dot?

Why are no crossbows vertical like pic related?

gets in the way of the sight picture i suppose

Anyone have any experience with CBC industries? Was planning on ordering an upper from them

Is the armasight spark core a decent night vision monocular? I'm not looking for any comparison to a pvs14 because its just not practical right now for me to spend that much. I'll most likely pair it with a t-20 ir light so it doesn't really need to rely on no ir source. Or should I just go digital at this price point? Mostly using for checking property close up, a little shooting under 100yds, camping.

Any Wisconsin fags here? Where the fuck do you guys go to shoot steel?
>Inb4 buy land
I am going to buy land eventually, but in the meantime I have been trying to find a place that will let me shoot steel targets. Every. Fucking. Range. Public or private is paper only. What is this horseshit.

is there any oil or wax I should be using on my stock? or do I literally just wipe it down with a damp rag and that's it?

Attached: winchester 94.png (943x707, 1.21M)

I got one for about two fiddy. 16” carbine length, black nitride barrel with a full length dickmod Hera rail. One of the rail screws fell out after going to the range but they sent me a baggy of screws no problem. After tightening everything myself its been fine

Then stick to irons

If near Appleton, twin city rod and gun.

Should already have a varnish on it, damp rag and maybe some pine sol or hardwood floor wax might make it purtier.
Sexy levergat btw

Why such Jow Forums hatred for 16" carbine AR15s?
Does every 5.56 have to be a 20" HB?
AR15s are mostly for the range & hd, so what's the problem?
Why is a 14.5" barrel w/ carbine length gas "better" than 16"?

Does anyone know where to find cheapish buckshot and slugs? I'd like to stock up with a couple hundred shells.

When's Cali's SB1100 coming into effect?

With the current high prices, is the CMP still the best place to pick up an m1? How is the general quality of their luck of the draw bullshit?

1. Ur a retard 2. Sight picture 3. It’s unweildy 4. Can’t prone w/ it

thanks mang, got it a week or so ago and it's my first fun. i've been autistically researching how to care and maintain for a rifle before I even touch the thing.

Did I do good Jow Forums? Original 1953 sks never fired and not refurbished came with the original import box, gun oil case, sling, and stripper clips. Had the gut feeling it was a good deal for 800$

I don't think you understand what ops asking

Eh
>4 years ago you've been laughed off this board

If the law says one shot per trigger pull, is there anything preventing you from building a two trigger system for simulated two shot burst in an automatic?

Don't put any oils at all on the wood. At most, put a wax on the exterior parts and the inner cuts of the thing to protect it there.

A little oil once in a while won't be awful but oiling your stock often is both pointless and detrimental to the wood long-term. Even my favorite oil, ballistol, isn't good for this kind of thing.

Walmart is an alright source for buckshot, not for slugs.

Not at all, and many guns already do something similar. Making it exactly how you want, however, would be tricky for various mechanical reasons.

Roger that, I'll grab some ren wax or johnsons paste wax and give it a light coat just to help seal it off from the elements, and I'll definitely get the unfinished parts of the stock underneath. I'm guessing I shouldn't fuck with waxing the metal since it's engraved, right?

You are correct.
It's me, again.
Congrats on the fun, man, and I'm glad you're trying to take care of it, but dont sperg out at the first ding or scratch. A light coat of a protecting oil on the metal might help but I wouldn't bother with it unless you're storing it for a while, or live in a humid area. The moment that steel gets hot any oils you put on it are going to evaporate.

Also check out the shiocton range if near appleton

just make one, it's not that complicated

How does everyone find places to go innawoods? It's hard for me to find places.

Can any of you guys recommend good shooting ranges near Chicago? I'm willing to drive an hour or two out of the city if that's what it takes. Is shooting on public land a thing in Illinois?

Anyone know about the yugoslav crests that you usually find of Zastava M57 Toks?
I recently got one and the crest on the slide wasn't on it. I'm wondering what that means for the pistol's history

Attached: IMG_20180908_170331.jpg (3024x4032, 2.94M)

>many guns already do something similar
Which?

I bought a Remington model 11 with a mirror bore and about 85 percent bluing on it but the stock has a chip at the wrist. $200 OTD how did I do?

Is this a good optic for PRS shooting?

$700

South side Chicago

What holster should I get for my CZ Rami

Grew up in Batavia. Public land is not a thing anywhere in the northern half of IL. As far as I know your outdoor options are a public range up in Bristol that is slow fire single shot only, a private range around crystal lake that's 100 yard max, or driving out to Waterman for an expensive private range that has everything you want.

No idea on Indiana ranges.

Can anyone help me identify this rifle stock? Found it at goodwill for 10 bucks.

Cool, thanks.

What are some of the most inventive ways to mitigate, disperse, cancel, or otherwise redirect the recoil of a .50 Cal? Does anyone think we'll see something invented that will allow for .50 Cal infantry rifles in the next 50 years?

The problem isn't recoil its ammo weight. Figure out an exoskeleton and you'll get bigger boolits.

I've been stashing away around 80 dollars/month for random bullshit. Problem is I don't know what to buy. I kind of want to just save up and get a Silencer but I really don't know anything about them. They're legal in my state - is there a way to get started? I'm not even sure how they attach exactly. Also what are some decent brands? I've been looking at Silencerco.

Also follow up question:

Say you're shooting a 5.56 with a 16 inch barrel and you put a silencer on it. Do you get an increase in velocity as if you were shooting from a longer barrel?

Attached: dank.jpg (640x541, 52K)

Measure the distance between screw holes for the action and I might be able to help you.
I dont own a suppressor but I'm gonna say no, as they dont hold the bullet in with pressure behind it. Hell they may even slow it down just a tiny bit on the way out.

>Say you're shooting a 5.56 with a 16 inch barrel and you put a silencer on it. Do you get an increase in velocity as if you were shooting from a longer barrel?
in general yes you get a minor increase in velocity

I'm not sure if by ammo weight your refering to the grain or the total weight of the cartridge.

Total weight. .50 weighs 4oz a round. Ow.

Also rifle weight. Same problem, same solution.

I want a good 12 gauge, side-by-side shotgun for quail hunting.

What's something good, trusty, and won't savagely rape my wallet?

Attached: wm_1987281.jpg (1627x1200, 192K)

It’s about 5 and 1/8th inches from the center of the holes.

Is there anything similar to the chiappa little badger but in 9mm or maybe 357 magnum?

Can anyone identify this vehicle or what its built on? Its featured really prominently in Fear The Walking Dead this season but I have yet to find any articles at all that explain what it is. It looks kind of like an MRAP.

Could you build a gun with a solenoid attached to the firing pin instead of a hammer/striker?

Bought this for 150 below retail from friend
28"barrel tho
Its a Mossberg 590 Flex (not useful feature but also never been shot and price of a regular 590)
Wherr the fuck can i find barrels?
None of my parts sites have them
Mossberg doesnt carry them on their site (they cardy 870barrels but not these?)
Its not crosscompatible with 500 barrels supposedly
Anyone got suggestions? Nowhere i saw had them except ebay

Attached: 20180908_210636-3024x2268.jpg (3024x2268, 1.02M)

A lot of waxes are also abrasives, and I wouldn't trust them at all on metal finishes, and certainly not inside the gun. For the latter reason especially I wouldn't get any on or even close to any moving parts.

Bump

how often should i switch up my carry ammo? recently found a bullet that wasnt seated properly in one of my carry gun that caused my mag to lock up and not feed and it shook me

What's the best lube to use on your guns?

My theory is simple, i buy a box of carry ammo every week or 2
At that time, i use up the loaded mag, then reload with fresh ammo
Alternatively, if youre like most gun owners and barely shoot, just once a week or so, unload and reload the mag

Any of them
Use it tho
Most people barely clean their guns
If you arent ultra high end it makes no difference

By switch up do you mean the individual rounds of ammunition, or that model of ammunition? If the former, I'd say once a month, if the latter, I'd say only if you found out that ammo was shit.

Ballistol if you touch your guns often in your home. Most oils are carcinegenic, though that's fine if you're only touching your gun once every few weeks, and never really around your house.

What's the practical purpose of having a long handguard (i.e. 15inch) on a 16 inch ar

Whenever it starts to show signs of deformation, but that will depend on how often you re-chamber your ammo. Rack it like once a month just to see how its doing? Itll last a year. Unload and reload it once a week at range day? About 3 months

British BAE Caiman MRAP. Lots and lots were used in iRaq and got selled by DOD to lots of small police department as SWAT vehicle to re-coup the cost. That's including Hollywood props company. Here's an example owned by NASA.

Can mount more shit (rarely used), can grip further forward if you're into that, can mount your front sight really far forward so you have a rifle length sight radius and finally it prevents you from burning your pants if you have it on a sling after firing.

Attached: IMG_20180804_113240921.jpg (2560x1440, 416K)

Its a made for movie MRAP Freemantor from my research
Varies by state, personally i have family near the woods, and am friendly with their neighbors
Legally no, mechanically perhaps
16" isnt so short its an advantage, nor so long its an advantage
Same reason gun mags loading from the top are uncommon
Yes, but either youre suggesting the same style as a sten in which case theres no advantage, or suggesting still not potruding but on side not top, in which case, why bother

Is there a such thing as a scope you can fit to a camera?
Dumb idea I know, I'm jw if anyone else thought of it before me and tried to sell them or something.

It is good as a training tool to learn how to use NV. It is not good as an actual tool.

There are adapter lenses that replace the eyepiece on many spotting scopes.

Is it stupid to save all my ammo boxes for anything that was expensive? I have no real reason to I just feel like I shouldn't throw them away.

Part of me feels like I'm just wasting space though.

Whats a good IWB holster for a Glock 19? Ive always carried a Sig before. Just got a Glock 19 and looking for a good IWB holster but theres just so fucking many I cant sift through them all. Is the Haley Strategic one any good?

A gunshot kind of sounds like fireworks going off, but what does a round fired from a carbine-size barrel without subsonic ammo sound like? I've only seen a few people at my range with supressors and they're usually several lanes away and masked by all the other shots going off at the same time. But does the crack get mostly eliminated and just sound like a loud bang or what?

Anyone have an opinion on ATI's top folding stock for my new Mossberg 590?

I was going to go to a dispersed shooting area today but I don't have any of my own stands for mounting paper targets. Where can I get them the cheapest or make something quickly?

Got bored with a few of my guns. Should I sell them?

Yes.

What is the viability of using an M1 Carbine for home defense?

Whats this?

No you just need to operate with them more in outdoor settings. I can guarantee you that you'll have more fun by leaving a designating shooting range and going way the fuck out there to shoot off some simulation tactics.

so something just occured to me right
plastic bottles are threaded, and supressors are made to thread on to things
so is it possible to screw a supressor on to a plastic bottle? if so, can anyone with a supressor provide me with a picture of that? im really curious to see such thing done
