Carryover from previous thread: I think those other 1 inch straps were possibly added to later models. I do not think mine ever had those. If mine had them then they are gone now. They may be part of integration for a chest rig. If I were bothering with fully pouching a PC then I would go with the OCPC.

Can we talk stab proof armor?

The only products I can find that are both bullet & stab proof within price range are from a brand called Safeguard. Are they legit?

Also what if I get a vest from a known reputable company and make it stab proof myself? From what I hear you can use modern chain mails or laminate materials to do it. What if I get said laminates, stab test them, then cut them to the shape of the vest and stick them in the carrier in front of the bulletproof panels? Anybody know of any such materials that would work for that?

fucking thank you. I was just so confused.
like am I missing a piece?
and you cant find any info about the old STRIKE gen 4 system.

Definitely not replacing my plates every 5> years, what's a more realistic lifespan, with rain/snow but not high heat?

decade?

Hopefully that other larping faggot host killed himself.

chainmail is good, just make sure you get the real kind, the kind knights actually used

or treated kevlar

level III or IV?

Ceramic is kinda stab proof. Like not around the the carrier, but still.

ceramic plate + 3A plate would be pretty stab proof, but personally I'd worry more about my neck/throat

Safeguard uses mail with very small chain links so it's not heavy and allows for some flexibility, but I think even if I got ahold of some of that it'd be difficult to cut to shape and have it stay in place. I want to find out more about the laminate stab proof materials some companies use.

I'm not gonna wear ceramic plates all day and I want full torso coverage.

I'm not that user but I'm also looking for ceramics in size S level IV, ideally multicurve and not 6 gorillion shekels.

I am still looking for info on UHMWPE degradation. KIM that UHMWPE is only a secondary component in a ceramic plate and that the ceramic degradation is very minimal. Other than degradation of the UHMWPE, my next concern would be the adhesives. In my experience in mfg, the super lightweight adhesives always gave us more trouble. In this respect, a less expensive, heavier plate would, in my mind, probably have better adhesive life because they have no need to compromise against weight. Regardless of all of this, the Highcom 4S17 is rated for ten years:

I have no opinion on that particular vest, but KIM that the MOPC looks great in pictures but is a POS IRL.

That user, lvl 4
Same man

Did you guys look at the Highcom 4S17 yet? This one is multicurve. If you surf their site, they have a single curve 4S17 for a little less:

What is a good starter plate carrier and plates? Trying to keep it under ~$750

You have a realistic budget. A pair of Highcom 4S17Ms in a Shellback Banshee is a decent rig. Depending on the size plates you need, this should fit your budget.

TY. Looks like single curve 8x10 is $170, I can emotionally handle that. Are they good to go as a manufacturer?

Good manufacturer yes.

try this code, might work

>Are they good to go as a manufacturer?
Fucking absolutely - and the 4S17 in particular is a good plate. The standards for the secondary ratings are not public but the assumption is that they are significant or else everyone would submit for them if a standard NIJ rated plate would pass.

It's right up there with really good plates like the VS-P34 and the latest Protech IVs. Seconded.
