Glock 19 because it is pretty concealable and shoots well. Gives it good versatility and if I was limited to only one handgun for whatever reason that would be it.
If concealability isn't an issue the 92 shoots smooth as hell and is always just pleasant. When introducing new shooters I almost always just skip past .22 and go to the Beretta.

I heard Glocks are pretty reliable and durable, what do you think about the glock 34 how does it stack up against the 19?

I've never shot a glock bigger than a 17 but extrapolating from that you get more sight radius but in a too-big-to-conceal size.
If you are considering a glock try them out before you get one; they are a love it or hate it kind of thing.
The ergos a chunky and inelegant. They feel like powertools. They are great as a functional gun that you won't feel bad beating the hell out of but they aren't as sleek as nearly any other option for a fullsize handgun would be.

92FS for range as they are durable, reliability and tend to be accurate AF. Military M9s ruin it's reputation since the .mil only allowed the FS revision.

Gen3 Glock 17 for all day carry and stupid easy maintenance and durable AF.

t. 9mmfag that has owned nearly all service 9mms except Brazilshit, 9mm 1911s, and 80s HK & Walther.

Glock 19 all day.
Conceals well, shoots well, stupid reliable, easy to operate, easy to clean, reasonably priced, infinitely customizable.

And as a plus, if shit hits the fan in this country, the Glock 19 is the most purchased pistol in North America, so parts, mags, and ammo will be easier to find.

Not the sexy choice, but it is used by almost every Tier 1 unit on earth for a reason.

If it cant hold its shit together under the clock, after rapidly banging out a fuck ton of rounds down the tube, with carbon caking every surface, and be able to maintain accuracy; thats an indicator its not the bee’s knees.

Its the difference between some gay home gamer lowes electric chainsaw, and a quality pro series stihl. Both cut wood, but one lets you larp as someone who does work...

Do you prefer the 92 to the CZ75?
If so, is it because of the 92's weight and recoil?

I bought the 19 because I like the aesthetics.

Glock 19. You can really depend on it for any need, you can upgrade/do maintenance yourself with no special tools for reasoable prices. Also a nice aftermarket. The only downside is the grip is a little blocky feeling compared to most modern striker fired pistols. It's also the sort of AK of pistols, it's used all over the place, especially the middle east so It's definitely been time tested a bit

>thinks that not actually using a firearm repeatedly and pushing it, is a true indicator of its reliability.
Guns arent monks; just because its reserved for special occasions doesnt mean its any fucking good at all when it comes time to put it to strenuous use.

Instead of wasting time and money on faggot games for middle-aged dorks maybe you should take some defensive handgun courses and let us know how your antique works then.

CZ75

Only 9mm I've ever owned is a S&W MP9 full size which I love but I'd have to agree that the Glock 19 probably is best all-around. If only they weren't so expensive right now.

>guns are only for cc or shtf

kys retard you're the reason why they'll all be banned before the end of the century

Sig P228

It's the Glock 19 specifically because I don't like it.

I never liked how Glocks look or feel. They're everywhere too, so I get pretty tired looking at em. Especially people who fanboy over the things as if they're something special when they're basically the Toyota Corollas of guns.

So from the age of 21 I set out to buy a handgun, any handgun that's not a Glock and convince myself that it's better. I've owned dozens of different pistols. Ruger P89, Ruger P95, Sig SP2022, Taurus PT92AF, H&K USP 45, etc. Some were good, some were shit, but today my main go-to home-defense and general SHTF pistol is a Glock 23. I went out of my way to avoid Glocks and ended up with one anyway.

Why? It just fell into my lap at a stupid low price and I had to buy it. I figured I'd hate the thing, especially since it was in .40, but over time other guns have come and gone but the little 23 that could remained. I treat it like absolute shit too, but it just won't quit. It has proven to be completely reliable, but more that that I just shoot well with it. I shoot well every time I get any Glock in my hands, even the little 26. Buying a shitty, cheap, clapped-out .40 Short & Weak Glock made in 2001 and rode hard/put away wet every day since proved me wrong about them. They really do deserve the praise they get, even if they are too mainstream to get gun-hipster approval.

>trigger pull on par with hi point

I mean, you can certainly go get some snowflake gun that is more like a Mitsubishi 3000GT or Audi B5 and have fun trusting it with your life.

I'll stick with the Civic or Corolla bub. While the more fun guns are in the safe, not nightstand

That's basically where I ended up.

Some of the guns I owned were plenty reliable though, like the Ruger P series in particular were absolute beasts. I'd trust one in the dead of night for sure, if I run out of ammo I can reliably bludgeon the enemy.

But on the other hand I can't stick one under my jacket, buy magazines in any store any time I want or enjoy a trigger that isn't complete ass.

CZ 75
BECAUSE

I've never seen a "reliable" 92 and I have see a lot of 92s

the Walther PPQ is in my opinion the best 9mm I have ever shot barring some of the $2k+ customs

M&P Shield. 9mm is great for a CCW, and the M&P Shield is my favorite CCW choice, it's thin enough to slip into a pocket without creating more of a bulge than my wallet without being too tiny for a man's hands, it's reasonably accurate, and mine has been a reliable workhorse since I got it.

I don't like glocks, I'd never own a glock, but I respect the G19 for what it does and that it does it well.

/thread

You mean because Glock sells to military and LEOS at a massive discount to get that "service gun" label as part of their marketing. Glocks are "good enough", not great, and the military and law enforcement get them at about the same cost as a hi-point individually.

this
cheaper, in fact
local PD gets them at about $120 and High Points go for about $280

It's brilliant because people actually believe that cops and soldiers, since they use guns as the tools of their job, would pick the best guns, not the cheapest ones.

>pocket carrying a Shield

fucking how

excellent marketing for sure
>hur dur, cops are all pistol snipers
most SWAT teams don't use Glocks
regular beat cops do
it's not unusual for service guns to be rusted up inside and all the cartridges corroded
in the mid 80s there was a big push to change from revolvers to semi auto
initially the idea was to auction them all off
after some of the first lots got to the distributors the bid prices crashed because so many of them were rusted shut or the cases had swelled and couldn't be removed manually

>High Points go for about $280
Wat.

Gen 5 Glock 19.
No nonsense. Easy to use and maintain. Easy to hit shit with.

and yet people still buy them

I can understand LE pricing on Glocks. LE pricing on everything is cheaper. It's not $120 though, that's a number that gets thrown around for unit cost to manufacture. Blue label prices (what cops/first responders pay) are something in the $300-400 range. It might be cheaper with a large bulk purchase from an agency, but I know it's nowhere near $120.

But still.
>Hi-Point
>$280
What crackhead agency is buying Hi-Points, let alone paying more than MSRP and retail for them?

>What crackhead agency is buying Hi-Points, let alone paying more than MSRP and retail for them?
no agency I know of but that's what I see the sticker on at the LGS
they move too so...
>It might be cheaper with a large bulk purchase from an agency, but I know it's nowhere near $120.
I know that the local PDs get together and buy them by the crate
A couple of good size cities, several towns, and three counties all go in on the same purchase order
I'm pretty sure I remember the per unit cost at about $120 but I might be wrong
oddly, the LGS price for a 19 is about $460

Got mine with factory night sights for $460 (Blue Label)

Please stop lying, Sig got the p320 contract because Glock was only willing to sell for about $300 and they went in the 200 neighborhood, not to mention you can go to the store and buy a Hi-point for 150 right now, stop being retarded user.

You can pocket carry a shield in basketball shorts, for fuck's sake, how fat are you? When I wear jeans, I just slap a pocket holster into my right pocket and the Shield just vanishes.

>what is bulk purchasing, the post

Well that's a bit different then. Massive retail markup vs. LE bulk pricing, the people buying Hi-Points don't have the option to buy Glocks for the same price.

That's still a crazy price on the Hi-Points. I reckon the store has it priced as the cheapest pistol they have, but only by a razor thin margin. It's probably only $20 more to get a much better gun, but cheapskates who know absolutely nothing will get the Hi-Point. That way the store gets a consistently stupid high profit margin on that type of customer and they don't feel bad because that type is retarded anyway.

>thinking keeping a gun in your nightstand is an indicator of a guns viability for CC or SHTF

The rampant fucking faggotry by noguns niggers is astounding.

Attached: AC43A7A5-BAE7-455D-A437-93DC394DB844.jpg (613x531, 139K)

the pricing for firearms in my area is all kinds of weird
I get most Ruger products for about 20% below MSRP
it's cheaper for me to go in locally and buy magazines for my Mini-14 than it is to order them from the Ruger website
Ri go for higher than MSRP, Remington for lower making their respective 1911s the same price

How accurate is a Glock 19 compared to a 19th century smoothbore?

look at the bait on this one

Attached: pepewtf.png (510x332, 66K)

H&K USP dual recoil springs, double tap

Attached: 1215171239~2.jpg (4656x3492, 2.58M)

Not bait, just a peculiar question.

Not him, but I'm fairly thin, and even an lcp 2 makes a noticeable bulge in my pocket. Any idea for a better holster?

all modern firearms have rifling
rifling makes it more accurate
smooth bore guns shooting ball were shot at close range or as a group volley
by the 1700s most quality guns were getting rifling and by the 1800s it was common in all but the cheapest guns
it was fairly common to got to rifle matches in the 1700s and see 5" groups at 400yd
no smooth bore could do that

So pretty much everyone says glock 19 is best handgun. But I'm a bit weird and also am from leafistan. Recommend a 9mm or 10mm pistol that's not common place. I'm not spending more than 1k loonies. That's 760 real monies.

>rifles
>by 1700s
Doubt.

>5" groups at 400yd
>in the 1700s
Even more doubt.

P99s are good out of the box. Glocks are as good if you put another couple hundred bucks into it.

so go look it up, fag
the match records are around for a lot of competitions shot here in the US and all over Europe
Ever here the term "Kentucky Long Rifle"?
they weren't called rifles until they had rifling
rifled barrels take time to make but were common enough that they were used by both side in the Revolutionary War

>t. has held 4 Berettas at a gunshow before

t. has shot many of them to qualify for sidearms in the military
t. has fixed them in a gunsmith shop
t. has seen several fail on the line at ranges
stay butthurt fag

By 1700s in the previous post implies that were already rifles before the 18th century.

And 5" groups at 400yd is simply not realistic.
That's hard even with a more modern bolt-action like a Mosin Nagant, let alone even more archaic sights of the Civil War.

Love my m&p 2.0, best stock pistol for the price. 100% reliable

Rifling in barrels is started in the mid 1600s it was already a thing that they knew would work but it was a technical challenge cutting them
bench rest shooting has been a thing for a long time and lead with black powder is proven to be as accurate as modern cartridges
we had snipers in the revolutionary war that were capable of modern level accuracy with muzzle loaders

>all around
what did you mean by this, op?

Steyr M9, it is more robustly built than Glocks, it does basically everything well and it's stock sights and trigger are both excellent. Draw backs are a lack of aftermarket accessories but that isn't really a critique of the gun as much as it is a ramification of low sales and shitty marketing by Steyr.

The FN Herstal FNX-9 Pistol was designed to be lightweight and perform for a long period of time, and anyone who is a dedicated hand gunner will have all the features they need. The ergonomic frame of this pistol is made of rugged polymer, while control is improved and felt recoil is reduced due to the low frame’s bore axis. Every shot fire is pinpoint accurate because of its 4-inch barrel made from hammer-forged stainless steel.

i came here to post g19 just to piss people off and here you are posting it constructively. fuck.
fpbp though, you're right on.

I've heard really good things about Walther but I haven't shot one. What do you like about it?

The CZ 75 SP-01 is without a doubt the best 9mm pistol because of its decent recoil, lengthy sight radius and the fact that its magazine can hold thrice the number of rounds compared to a traditional revolver. This pistol is not only aesthetical but is also ergonomic as well. It has a low riding slide within its frame, which allows for outstanding rail engagement.

user your over thinking it. That buldge is smaller than any smart phone. No one is noticing it.

>It has a low riding slide within its frame

I get that this is an improvement, but the smaller slide is more difficult to manipulate. I'm not sure the slight increase in accuracy is worth that tradeoff. Notice how the CZ P10C doesn't have this rail system, they use a traditional slide/rail interface.

Not him, but I love my Walther. It feels like it fits your hand perfectly, and I have never had any malfunctions with it or any issues.

it's an over all excellent balance
it had one of the best out-of-the-box triggers
it had just the right weight to recoil ratio to be a lot of fun
the grip ergonomically fits me so well I don't have to think about or adjusting
I didn't have any issues with FTF/FTE with a variety of ammo
the magazine seemed perfect

shooting a handgun well is a special skill
the vast majority of people with handgun don't use them well
get a person to teach you the basics and then practice
expect to take about 7000 rounds to get to be a good shooter

Is there a deliberate reason they made it so fucking ugly?

Simple, reliable, respectable. Like a Toyota Corolla. You may pay a little more for it versus the competition, also just like a Toyota Corolla.

Any advice for a first time gun buyer looking to pick up a beretta? It will travel between the range and my nightstand. I like the 92A1 version for attaching a light and playing with different sights, but I'm willing to consider other members of the family. I can afford to buy new, but if there's a great way to get a piece in good condition for less money, do share.

Beretta Guy here:

The 92A1 is better for a HD gun, but I would suggest a m9a1 or m9a3 if you plan on carrying or being mobile.

Umm no. I'm saying that when presented with virutally any .40 to choose from, including custom built 1911s to deploy with, the most elite spec ops team on earth took the glocks.

M9. Super reliable, low cost, sexy as hell

Never liked Walther. They look too chunky.

Sort of, it's kind of a consequence of the design parameters and material. It's a straight blow back, so the slide has to be heavy. They use Zamak 3 for the ease of construction and cheapness of the materials in an effort to keep the price down, but Zamak is light than some other materials and the slide has to be larger as a result of the materials and the fixed barrel, straight blowback design. Hence the chunky appearance.
