I know it's a meme at this point but isn't flecktarn a viable camo for equipping a militia or similar force?

Thoughts?

It won't be as common or economical in the future, considering that Germany has decided to stop selling off Bundeswehr surplus. They're now burning it, supposedly. God knows why.

What do you think the alternative would be for economical standardized BDU's? Czech eastern block shit like pic related?

Isn't M81 Woodland more common

Commercial Multicam from companies like Tru-Spec and Helikon-Tex, I would say. The Czech stuff is going to get pricier in the next five or so years.
It used to be, but not so much anymore. Most of the common camouflage surplus has mostly run out or is going to mostly run out. Things are going to become less economical the harder to find they get, especially in sizes Medium through X-Large.
>M81 Woodland
Legit USGI stuff hasn't been made in years and is significantly less common than it used to be. You don't see it as often at "surplus" stores (most now stock primarily airsofter cammies) and you rarely see it in government surplus auctions.
>6-color desert/"chocolate chip"
Seems the government gave most of this away to Arabs, which is why it's been harder to find than other contemporary US patterns that saw large-scale production.
>3-color desert/DCU
These are still around but are getting more expensive on the secondhand market because the government gave so much away to Arabs and the stocks of it in American warehouses that get marked for surplus auctions are starting to dry up.
>East German strichtarn
They've been selling off the East German stockpiles for like thirty years now. It's all much more expensive that it used to be (anyone remember $2 jackets and 75 cent AK pouches?).
>flecktarn
It's going to go away soon because the German government has decided to start burning it instead of selling it off as surplus. We've already seen price increases from surplus retailers and price increases on secondhand sites like Ebay.

works fine for the worse-Ukrainians.

>God knows why.
Its because all the nazi battalions in the Ukraine were using it and that pretty bad publicity for Germany

Get those boys some helmets

really? source?

Noice. I’m going to start stocking up on flecktarn

I wish I could buy higher quality t shirts in flecktarn instead of Rothco cotton ones or some surplus stuff

Don't believe everything Ivan tells you.

>Legit USGI stuff hasn't been made in years
Aren't truspec and propper decent?

Polish wz 93 camo or polish wz 2010

>Aren't truspec and propper decent?
Yes, they are just fine. I’ve owned and beaten the shit out of many BDU pants from both companies, they hold up well.

This, though I prefer truspec just because their pants are baggier.

THATS NOT HOW THE TARP SHOULD BE CARRIED!

zero proof of this.

Just look at the vebeg site or ask german retailers...

Pretty sure that was sponsored.

Varusteleka confirmed it also

>Pretty sure that was sponsored.
Nah, they were even irritated, at least that's what I heard when I was in the german army.

Just bought 10 for 3$/p.
I love Flecktarn !

Really hope this isn't true, I still need to get my hands on some desert flecktarn.

Just shop ASMC.

German prices for Flecktarn (tropen, desert or 5-Fraben) is 3-4$ for a Jacket.

Whats the price in the US ?

That's not very good though. Not enough pockets. Now water proof. Warm with the liner but also itchy. Hood is tiny.

I dont think this is entirely true but it sure has gone up in price maybe due to scarcity varusteleka had field shirts for $5 now has them listed for $10

Azov started out with Flecktarn, now they use multicam.

Woodlands can be had from most good surp shops for $5-$10 still, Fleck is getting more expensive but still a good option. You can get UCP uniforms for next to nothing and dye them more green or tan too

Like $10-$15 at most retailers now

I have 6 now and 1 gets cutted down for a Guile-Mix. Cheap but they work in my german forest ;)

First off, Flecktarn sucks

Second, they are destroying it because, too much of it was ending up in Ukraine

Someone tried your little idea already

>First off, Flecktarn sucks
t.without a grandpa

>VEBEG doesn't sell Flecktarn atm
>They must be burnin it boyyys

As the LHBw went bankrupt they weren't allowed to sell shit anymore, through years of mismanagement they kept buying overstock, while selling brand new stock by the tons trying to keep the books balanced.
Since they were refurbished into the BwBM they can't easily sell stuff anymore so it became quite rare that Flecktarn is sold on VEBEG auctions, but you'll still see them, just as you see Flecktarn clothing from Bundeswehr stock being sold.

Flecktarn being burned is a shitty telltale made up by surplus traders to justify their stupid prices. Stop believing every stupid shit you read on the internet.

utter bullshit.

I’ve recently pondered the effectiveness of 6-color desert/chocolate chip. In my area it’s decent in dry cornfields or dry grass, but I’m thinking about picking up a spare set of it to dye a more green color. Thinking it might end up like a less busy flecktarn. Would be great to get rid of the black spots and replace with dark brown or green.
Is there a more green chocolate chip pattern out there already?

>>most economical out there
lol no
>>effective in a wide array of environments
lol no
>>no confusion as most people are unlikely to ever engage the bundeswehr
do you know how many countries have thought this and were wrong?

It's pretty cheap here.

Tempered climates, forests and jungles say yes. Fuck off sandnigger.

Doesn't really matter.
