It happens.

Is the ERA moulded or different peices? Very nice comrade.

They came in separate chunks and single pieces, yes.

Nice, what company made your s tank kit?

Another older one. A modular setup with interchangeable bits. Optics, APS, machine gun, ATGM, 120mm, 155mm, dual 30mm, rotary 30mm.

Never been good at building models, but I do love those tanks.

I used to, stopped because I didn't paint for some reason
I intend to pick up the hobby once cashflow becomes regular

That's cool, but how do you get out?
I think Lee/Grant would be better as APC conversion with its side doors

Go Israeli, move the engine up front

I suppose it's a major step up from the the goofy Sherman engines

Those aren't tanks, silly

nice M10

is that 1/72??? tracks looks too chunky for a 1/35

What game is this intended for?

What did you use for antislip?

Got some fine sand/dirt from my drive way and used a screen to remove the big peices and sprinkled it on after airbrushing on a shadow coat. The particles are still too big to be the proper scale but I'm happy it it anyway.

Of course.

Games Workshop tanks count right?

Takom?

Yeah

Dats some collections.

Hows the kit? Did you use any aftermarket?

>M10
Uhhh, user...

Larger volume of sand or dirt, sifted multiple times, should yield a progressively more consistent particle size. Obviously only worth it if you intend to use it for multiple projects.

I've tossed some dried grains in a spice mill with a better degree of success for some 40k projects. Barley, I think, but I can't be sure. Gotta be creative and use your noggin.

Not knocking your work--looks great, user. Makes me want to dust off the paintbrushes.

Yeah but I can't paint for shit. I keep assembling them and then just leaving them in chunks because I don't want to ruin them. I hate it

I try, but I’m so incredibly, unbelievably shit I just can’t bring myself to do it anymore. I have a M51 from Tamiya on my work table, haven’t touched it in months.

As gay as it sounds but just do it. It's just a bunch of plastic. You'll never improve if you don't. I had the same problem

Post pics. I'd love to build an M51 sometine or some other piece of IDF armor. There's something I love about single color vehicles and contrast between the details like red grab handles and such

I want to start, but I’ve never gotten around to it. I’ve been eyeing a certain kit for a while though that I’m tempted to buy. About how big is 1/35 for a modern MBT?

Thanks for the tip, you sound like you know what your doing old like to see some of your stuff.

That used to scare me too,I bought a cheap china airbrush off ebay for $15 it really helps with getting an even brush stroke free finish.

Dont give up!

There’s the model. It’s a Tamiya as I mentioned, I can send a box pic if you want too. As you can see, I’ve only just started the detailing and just payed down the base coat, but I don’t want to risk going beyond that for fear of fucking it up.

I have no fucking clue why it’s upside down, sorry about that. Why is Jow Forums’s photo system so odd?

Australia everyone

>I have no fucking clue why it’s upside down
Because you're left handed. And there's nothing strange about Jow Forums's photo system, it displays the photo like it is. It's your camera that keeps flipping shit around to try and compensate for various user malfunctions.

This. I’m holding off on building my Nagato set because I don’t have the skill or tools to paint the parts.

do little boys count too?

THIN YOUR PAINTS

I have a king tiger, pak 40, m10, some american gun carriage, yadgtiger, flak 37, 1/72 Karl from hasawaga everything else it 1/35 from tamiya.

My bad I should have said all military modeling.

How does it just stay there like that?

I'm in the middle of an EA-6B and an F-15C. Will post when finished.

Magnets. It’s a pretty neat display trick, I’ll use it sometimes for spaceships.

Made this last month

My cats destroyed a King Tiger, Leopard 2 and a PzHB 2000.
I made them when I was a kid and haven't put anything together since so it's not too bad but still sucks. Only have a Leo 2 A5 left.

Bump

None in particular. The idea was to make a tank with modules that could be quickly any easily interchanged, similar to games like World of Tanks or shit like that. The actual design wasn't great, but it was nice to have the bits to tool around with.

>M16 halftrack with mortar
>M60 MBT
>M113 APC
>M41 MBT
>German tracked vehicle with quad AA
>Kettentrad
>ME109
I poured a lot of time into this one - damaged prop, bullet holes, fire damage
>ME262
All of these and more are lost to the winds of time.

nice tank user

79 models. 90 if you include non-armored vehicles (Dragon Wagon, German staff cars, that stuff.)
Been collecting for a while. I actually bought a few off the guy who used to run the Military Museum of Southern New England.

Were’d you get the M103? Been looking for a decent model of one.

Jep, sometimes

Everything aside from the tank is scratch built from cardboard

Been wanting to get into tank and airplane modeling for awhile. Pretty cool stuff guys.

It's the Dragon Armor version. I used to buy them from Amazon, but I've purchased at least one version of just about every model of tank they offer from Dragon. Now I use Ebay, which is way better and has an amazing selection of stuff.
That being said, the M103 is definitely on the more expensive side just because of scarcity. Shermans and Pz.IIIs and stuff are cheap, usually $20-$40. An M103 is going to be at least in the $55 and up range.

Fuckin sick user, can you show the driving compartment with the front upper glacis on?

No, the entire upper hull is one piece and I glued the hatches shut

REEEE

Yeah I know, fucking TAKOM

I did that same kit. I like it alot

Attached: 20171230_122554.jpg (4032x3024, 3.64M)

I thought it would have been totally possible the crew salvaged stuff from some german tonk or SDkfz and gave itself some more firepower

totally plausible, the americans really liked the MG42 simply due to its reputation, I've heard accounts that some of them even stole Mauser ammo from the brits who were manufacturing it because their tanks also used it

Once or twice

Attached: 03.jpg (2277x1134, 336K)

the worst Panther but still a nice model!

Beautiful aging my friend. I know it's hard to resist the urge to make a tank look like it had been in the shit for 15 years straight but you did it very realistic and tasteful

o shit a model kit thread, I always wanted to make one but I only have light sky blue, red, white, metallic dark grey paint color and a primer. Any good color scheme anons?

Attached: SmartSelect_20180910-180710_Gallery.jpg (884x580, 353K)

No...

I build trains though.

murica camo planes, chile camo M47's

guess I have no choice to buy forest green (or any type of green) eh

Attached: images (50).jpg (200x300, 12K)

Oh boy, you're in for a nasty surprise
>buy forest green
There are literally 10k different shades of camo green on the market for scale modelling stuff

Pro tip: When painting scale models in 1/35, mix your camo color with 10% white. Reason: Dude to the scale, using the original color tends to look too dark because the model is 35 times smaller.

I know its weird but I do it and it works like a charm.

Noy Mate, Aym from ze kountry of Görmoney

Servas pifke, Ösi hier

We almost had that as part of DIVADS (General Electric's entry).

Then Ford sued it's competition and we got the pile of fail called the Sgt. York.

Attached: 1sLO3cn.jpg (600x401, 57K)

Oy vey, ze Schluchtenscheißers are zere too ^^

I really should build some more tonks, but these projects here ( )
both took more than 100 hours each. I did them a few years ago between two jobs where I could build all day long. Now I dont have the patience to do it every night after work... feelsbadman

Do the tracks on model tanks kits work? Are they a time consuming mess to put together but actually articulate and allow the model to roll forward and back? As a kit this shit irritated the fuck out of me and I hated model tanks because they didn't.

I build aircrafts

Attached: Hungarian Stuka.jpg (800x533, 73K)

very nice

>Been looking for a decent model
In 1/35? Keep looking, Dragon's tooling is the only one around, and it has... issues.

He said tanks, not coffins.

A battleship and three destroyers.

It varies. Functionally from "completely" to "not in any way whatsoever", though with many kits the sprocket and idler might not move even if the tracks could. In assembly it goes from just a long strip of soft plastic per side that you wrap around and glue the ends together to having multiple parts for each track link that you need to remove form the sprue, carefully clean off any flash and such, and finally glue together. Either way tracks, wheels and suspension tends to be a pretty major part of the assembly work on a tank kit.

Attached: 20180215_220757.jpg (1409x729, 685K)

>multiple parts for each track link that you need to remove form the sprue, carefully clean off any flash and such
Thats why on each and every of my tanks these tracks hit the trash as soon as I open the box. Friulmodel or bust

friulmodel.hu/en/metal-tracks-m5/metal-tracks-1-35-p5.6/

It's the same shit obviously but at least you can put the whole show together with pliers and some wire and thanks to their weight they look so much more realisitc on the tank

>Them rainmarks

Attached: Lewd.jpg (200x200, 6K)

Friul tracks are one of the things I'm missing now that I've gone and entrenched myself in 1/72.

Attached: 20180315_175621.jpg (1345x684, 221K)

I'm thinking about it, there's an Airfix Tiger going for pretty cheap I'm looking at.

Don't

What's wrong with Airfix?

Sup
