I’m bidding on my first one, I’ll know tomorrow. It’s a 1941 commercial Mauser with matching mag

Nah that shit's gay as hell.

eww commercials. How much you bidding? Don't overpay. Most people getting in for the first time WAY over pay

1918 DWM

Thats getting to be some rarefied air user, don't think you can touch a decent Luger for under a grand now, not even shooter-grade.

This is my Russian-capture 1937 Mauser. I happened to find a safety that matched otherwise it would be completely dip-blued

Attached: RC Luger (7).jpg (3041x2025, 1.24M)

$1600

So the russian ones were re-blued? Eh, it depends if you know where to go. I'm part of a community that I can get a shooter just shy of 1k, or collector grades for roughly 1300-1800 (normally.

Oh not bad. Pix? Just curios of the condition.

got any more pix bro?

Just have one, 1915 Luger.

Attached: my precious.jpg (2592x1936, 1.74M)

any better pix, user? I need myself a 1915. I only have a 1911 luger, 1916, 1917, 1918

It's an old photo. Also I'm a drunk idiot, it is a 1916.

Okay, quick explanation about Russian-capture.

First off, they didn't care about numbers-matching or anything, they simply disassembled them all, then dipped them into a tank of bluing solution (hence the term "dip-blued" and reassembled. They simply stippled out the WaffemAmts and any mismatched numbers (for example, the takedown lever on mine, my apologies for the blur)

Condition? Basically its had a bad bluing job applied by Soviets in a make-work effort. only real issue was the bore is frostier than a root beer mug and it took a couple boxes of ammo to break the bluing before it functioned reliably.

Oh yeah,. the grips were saturated with oil too.

No idea why my pics were blurry, but even so you can see the stippling on the extractor where the number was

Here is the bore

Here's mine: 1926 Commercial Alphabet in .30 Luger. I love it to death

Attached: Lugerr.jpg (1920x1080, 275K)

Kicking myself for not getting a Finnish-contract commercial DWM that had been re-barreled to 9x19 by Tikka.

I'd like to have even one, but the artificial inflation is killer.

Anything even Luger-shaped commands stupid prices, like the Lahti and Nambu pistol families

Attached: IMG_0024.jpg (1310x1162, 233K)

People who by a retarded amount of the same gun drive up its rarity and price and ruin it for everyone else

I can't say I collect Lugers specifically. I have two DWM's, however.

This is the safe queen - a 1917 DWM.

Attached: Luger_HDR.jpg (4267x2841, 1.34M)

Here's the shooter - a double date DWM 1917/1920. I had never intended on buying a second but the price, two unit stamps, 1920 stamp and artillery rear sight notch sold me on it.

I was able to find a wealth of information based upon the stamps and features and the adoption years of these items. It served in the Imperial German Army, Weimar Police, German Wehrmacht and finally the East German Volkspolizei.

If anyone is interested I can discuss the details.

I'm op from the new gats thread. I'm looking for a holster to go with my luger, what would be correct for a 1942 mauser? Also, is there anywhere to look up serial number production records?

This is the correct type of holster for 1937-1945. Most were made from cowhide, later war examples were made from pigskin which exhibits a much rougher texture.

I have some reference books which cover production numbers but I haven't found a website with similar information. What details are you looking for?

Attached: 1771Mauser42-42-HolFrt4W.jpg (395x530, 60K)

I've seen that Mauser stopped production in '42 in the M block. Mine is 7070 K block, and I was wondering approximately when it was manufactured.

Attached: 20180908_133318.jpg (4160x3120, 3.18M)

Unironically this.

I wish I could collect Lugers, but I just can't justify paying so much for guns that I wouldn't put regular use into. I'm not a poorfag, but I don't have a ton of expendable income either. If I won the lottery or made enough to never have to worry about money again, things would be different.

More power to you if you can do it though. I've seen some old guys at gun shows with $30,000 in Lugers. They're honestly some of the most beautiful guns in existence.

>Cringe Compilation
Das heißt "Fremdschämsammlung"

The early 1942 guns had 655 acceptance stamps, but those ran only to about 1000 (no suffix). The rest of the year had the 135 stamp. German military production ran into the 'm' block with some Portuguese and Bulgarian contracts spanning into the 'n' block.

Which book is this? Also, any recommendations on P38 holsters? This one is a Feb. 1945 Spreewerke.

I don't think this market is artificially inflated, it's pure demand. Colt Pythons, now that's an artificially inflated market

That was from Aaron Davis's 'Standard Catalog of Luger'. I still need to get ahold of Jan Still's books. There's some good info in John Walter's 'The Luger Story' and even Ezell's 'Handguns of the World' covers production numbers.

I do see considerably less Lugers available locally than I did just ten years ago. Prices have more than doubled in that time. However, I have seen a great deal more US gov't M1911's yet the prices have continued to rise on those as well. The collector market is hard to predict.

Yes, just one.
Double stamped 1916-1920 DWM. All matching parts; the grips in the image are aftermarket, just for handling purposes. The strap is stamped for a pioneer division 3./Pi.2.2.24.

Where the fuck do you buy lugers?

> (OP)
>Where the fuck do you buy lugers?

Phase 1: obtain C&R FFL
Phase 2: ???
Phase 3: Luger

I was a t agun show in Kansas City a couple months ago and one of the vendors had a case with like 20 lugers displayed in it and a sign on top that said "NOT FOR SALE".

It's like he was just being a dick about it.

Someone trying to sell me a front sight?

He's just some crusty old fuck that will only let go of one "for the right price"

Ended 30 minutes ago.

It's artificially inflated because garden-variety Lugers aren't rare by any stretch of the imagination. There's always a ton for sale and they aren't even selling particularly fast. Probably because people are constantly asking $1000+ for a mismatched 80% shooter.

This thread

My father has a luger my grandpa captured in WWII. We shoot it every few years. It isn't in amazing shape. The grip was cracked in the war. It's cool because my grandpa actually captured it. But I would never go out and buy one. I don't see why people worship the luger so much.

I got my first and probably last Luger a few months ago for 1000$
It’s a 1918 DWN that’s two Lugers mixed. I think it may be a WW2 bring back as it has a 1941 nazi marked mag but ww1 proofs.

I bought my Luger because I want to trade up to a c96 with it.

Collect? No, just got the one my grandfather got off the beach.

I have a feeling the Luger market will crash hard once the boomers start dying off and their collections start getting recirculating. Every single Luger that sold at my last job was to some boomer or older fuck.

there are literally dozens and dozens posted for sale on GunBroker right now.

Nambu is based of the Luger?

>5
Fuck you nigger your the reason prices are so high

Why would you think that?

It's highly unlikely to affect the market prices of lugers in general. It may help you find deals on them though.

>Anything even Luger-shaped commands stupid prices, like the Lahti and Nambu pistol families
It was a question and I also didn't say the copied them
