My first AR pistol

Just finished building my first AR15 pistol. I chose to do a 300AAC BLKOUT. Now I'm bored. What should I do next Jow Forums?

Shoot things with .300 blackout

You should spend money to upgrade that thing instead of "starting" another build.

Get an SBA3 brace. Get a better handguard, optic, and trigger. And suppressor.

What's wrong with my Vortex Strikefire?

It's probably a decent midrange red dot. But an aimpoint PRO is objectively better...more durable, longer battery life, etc. SBA3 is hands down the best brace on the market and adjustable for LOP. Any trigger upgrade will be much better than the meh basic bitch milspec trigger. And that handguard is...probably not the best. And you need a light and a suppressor. Lots to do, champ.

Get a license for an SBR because that is not a pistol

Nothing, Vortex are pretty solid and have a good warranty. Decent general purpose dot for normal use

People around here like to shit on them because they are not bomb proof/jumping out of helicopters into water proof like Aimpoints. And the Jow Forums AR crowd is a bunch of ricers.

wrong

>And suppressor
If you're going to get cuck stamps, why not just go all the way and go SBR?

Attached: Retarded Kike.jpg (400x400, 21K)

Is a suppressor really worth it? The ones at my local shop are expensive AF. Like $800+. I could build almost 3 bare bones ARs with that.

nothing. it will serve your purposes just fine. I'd consider
>a different grip
>different trigger guard (unless that middle finger gap doesn't bother you)
>better charging handle

I actually was thinking about those things as upgrades. Probably just get Magpul MOE stuff, and just get an extended charging handle lever, rather than a completely new charging handle.

>Is a suppressor really worth it?
No, if you think they are cool as fuck and want one then they are a cool novelty but their practical value is minimal.

>and just get an extended charging handle lever, rather than a completely new charging handle.
I would recommend you don't do that, the purpose of extended handles is typically for one handed operation and doing so with a USGI charging handle causes overtravel and puts a lot of strain on the rollpin which eventually breaks it.

Some aftermarket charging handles offer a reinforced design that puts almost no stress on the rollpin so you can one hand palm the lever all day with no problems

What's up stupid.

I actually didn't know that. Makes sense those since it applies stress to it horizontally. Thanks for teaching me something new. I'll probably end up switching it out.

BCM, Radian Raptor, or Geissele SCH. They're all excellent options.

That's awesome OP

Thanks user.

Whole thing (not counting optic) cost me $340.

Lurk more.

I just built a 16" rifle. A few weeks after i was looking on PSA and they had pistol AR kits on sale for like $350, i wish i had waited asi dont want to spend money on another gun right now but ive always wanted one

Am I a total retard for buying a trs-25 for a budget build? it seems to work fine for my purposes, which is working on my poor shooting skills at the range every now and then.

Put marks/tape/something at-a-glance visible on all the magazines you plan to use for 300blk so you don't accidentally load them into a .223/5.56.

Are you jumping out of helicopters or coming into close proximity to explosive shockwaves?

trs-25 is fine when you dont want to spend hundreds of dollars. It will hold up to normal usage

I've actually thought about that. Right now I just have the one 40rd mag loaded with 300blk but as I buy more ammo, I will have to do that. Just wondering what the best option would be. I'd rather not scratch or tape my mags if I could. Maybe change out the floor plates?

Buy some mags in a color you don't have already. Or just colored electrical tape. The residue will come off with a mild solvent just fine if you decide to take the tape off.

I want to get an AR pistol but i always worry about legal issues

i just wrap a band of red electrical tape around mine.

>legal issues
They're legal. What legal issues is your retarded mind worried about.

What are you worried about specifically?

basic bitch AR pistol. come back when you actually done something. you couldnt even spurg for a lancer mag, poorfag

The only reason anybody cares about lancer mags is because lancer is a cooler name than magpul.

Optimal pistol barrel length for .223? 300yds and in

10.5

your poorfag is till showing for reusing your 5.56mag from your other shit build instead of buying a dedicated 300blk mag.

Laws changing with regards to things like shouldering them without me knowing. As far as i was aware that issue has gone back and forth a few times

All these fucking summerfags.
is right. ATF opinion is that any brace over 13.5" is considered a stock because it allows a comfortable and normal length of pull. Ergo, having the brace as far back as OP is considered having a stock, making it a short barrel rifle. Hammer that shit down OP.

2010 wants their ballistics back.

7.5

but 7 is so much more badass

sigsauer.com/press-releases/atf-clarifies-ruling-pistol-stabilizing-braces/

he means over all legnth not your cock brace length

Why 7.5 over 10.5?

>Don't put a stock on it, just buy a brace and shoulder it (ATF has confirmed this is OK). If you're really that worried just get a cheek rest like pic related.
>No vertical foregrip, horizontal/angled are OK
>Stay out of cucked AWB states
>Buy a new receiver. Don't use a one from a rifle you purchased, once a receiver is used in a rifle then it has to stay as a rifle. The inverse is OK though, you can buy an AR pistol and convert it into a rifle.
Follow those four rules and you should be fine
Go with 10.5". You lose a lot of velocity when you go shorter than that but any longer and you might as well get a rifle. If you want to put in regular backpack or shoulder bag (which is why I bought mine) go with 7.5." There are plenty of YouTube videos of guys doing just fine at 300yds with that length.

Attached: xl_100020613_3.jpg (1200x1200, 91K)

>what is reading comprehension
You can shoulder braces. But a brace that is 13.5 inches or longer is considered a stock. Check the ATF letter for the first Shockwave blade.

Could I separate the upper and lower and throw it in a pack? I like the general idea of it

yes.
if you plan to shoot 300blk subs only then you can get by with a pistol can in 5-600 range. If you want to shoot supersonic and subs then you want a 30cal can so yes 800+

No one cares but the ATF. If the ATF is asking whether you shouldered a brace, you fucked up something far worse than shouldering your brace.

vfg is ok as long as your OAL is greater than 26". If 26" is achieved with brace, according to the ATF that is ok. (If brace is removed, VFG must be removed first).

Here is some ultra compact build some guy did with a 7.5" and a folding buffer tube

im surprised he didnt use more paracord and looped them all together

I would likely get just one of these braces. I'm not really looking to spend $300-400 on a new gun now but this will probably be the next thing i get

Attached: 403191.jpg (880x660, 21K)

Are those flip ups?

Because I am avin a giggle

nice lego

talk to me when you are carving guns out of 2 inch steel stock with nothing but handfiles

Attached: steel-plate-ss400-q235-steel-6mm-plate.jpg_350x350.jpg (350x349, 47K)

I have that exact same lower. Invest in a beefier trigger guard and a new grip. the edge digs into your middle finger. Shit fucking sucks

Man up or buy a gapper.

>your moms a gapper

Its a shitty milspec trigger guard, a 4 dollar trigger fix.

Looks like shit.
Throw it away and try again.

>bomb has been planted

Attached: Learn.png (500x298, 139K)

>I could have 4 shitty ARs that would be right at home in an amazon review photo
Or
>I could have a nice AR that actually utilizes the purpose behind 300 blackout, and is pleasant to shoot, and also cool as fuck.

Wow tough call

Yeah? Hand file out an inside of a barrel? I want to see that.

Not from a Type 1 FFL.

Attached: 22riiq[1].jpg (1366x573, 30K)

With this route, op is going to have enough parts for a new build. At that point, might as well build a new AR. I think it'll be better to use his first gun as a "beater" and build a second gun with more expensive parts.

Nice gun, op. Enjoy.

looks gay as fuck.
>.300 meme AR pistol
>birdcage flashhider
>a2 grip

I'd get bored and not want to shoot that either. Get one of those breaks that allows you to thread on a supressor, wait on the stamp for said supressor to go on the brake.
get a new grip that isn't dogshit, and a memetastic PDW brace. Then paint it memey colors.

Should I get a pistol as my first AR, or should I go rifle?

Kak is the worst most uncomfortable brace. Shoot a few rounds through it in your shoulder pocket and you'll find out why they named it the blade.

Shut the fuck up bitch.
I bet youve never even built a 1911 before.

>t. pussy

SKS and go inna woods

RIFLE! Pistols/SBR's don't have the utility of a rifle!

...

because he is a retarded newfag 10.3/11.5 is the shortest a 5.56 can go without having pistol ballistics and killing itself from low dwell time

Did I run into you at a gunshop yesterday afternoon?

round files are a thing, and you can make a barrel from flat stock, granted, you need a little blacksmithing, but nothing too complicated

make a flat piece then roll it red hot and then forge it together as a single pieces

then you can use a round files to work the inside and a regular file with hand operated "mill" (anything that turns), and you clean up the outside

how do you thinK they made guns in the 1700's?

youtube.com/watch?v=7Yu1gIVT4hA

>T. Poorfag

Nigga they just bought them in the 1700s

damn tru... never thought of it this way.

time travelling pirates stole them from the future then sold them back in 1700s, obviously

>fitting a gun

lol a pakistani 9 year girl could do that

>Get an SBA3 brace
People who are choosy about their braces are literally the worst kind of people.
The only thing OP needs to do out of your list is better trigger and even then he could just polish the current one.
OP just get a shorter mag and it'll have a nice, simple SBR aesthetic.

>brace that is 13.5 inches or longer
Where do you get that it's over than length? Basically all brace manufacturers specifically make them to not be able to extend that far with a standard buffer tube. You're just assuming and then having an autistic fit over that misinformed assumption.

An AR lower is about 8ish inches in length. In that picture the brace plus buffer tube is approximately twice the length of the lower, which is well over 13 inches. Also theres the fact that I own one of those braces and know that its way too length when left at the end of the buffer tube. The SOB brace in the OP is designed to be fully seated to the castle nut to avoid that length of pull. I'm not assuming, I'm simply trying to help the OP not get a felony. Youre just an idiot

Already have a WASR, I want something different

First of all, thats fucking ugly...

Build a sniper/DMR build

Dang, TIL. Thanks user.

>Get a license for an SBR
No, waste of time and money that could be spent on a can
>SBA3 is master race

Attached: Measured Lengths.jpg (2560x1440, 831K)

>over 26in

Offload the disgusting nottastawk. Shockwave or SBA3, sweet god almighty.

Stop playing with toys and legos and build a real gun.
>>>/akg/

The SBA3 is ATF approved and comes with an included standard mil-spec buffer tube.

Point? There's no maximum OAL for a pistol, you can have a 10ft pistol if you want.

>7.5

5.56/.223 out of a barrel that short literally has 9mm levels of muzzle energy. At that point you should just be using a pistol caliber carbine. Cheaper ammo, far less muzzle blast, and with such low muzzle velocity the 5.56 is going to lose its hydrostatic shock characteristics so you are just poking a smaller hole in the badguy than a pistol caliber.

pic related. Out of a 7.5" barrel you are going to be getting just over 600 ft-lbs of muzzle energy.

Attached: 223ME.png (754x460, 25K)

A CZ scorpion pistol has a 7.75" barrel and with +P ammo you are going to be getting about 550 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. Pretty close to the 7.5" AR pistol muzzle energy, and like 1/4 the muzzle blast.

Attached: 9mmluger.png (1017x526, 118K)

600ft-lbs is not 9mm

it is however handgun tier, kinda in the low tier of the really high power handguns

ahh pistol carbine......excuse my retardness

I literally posted a diagram showing tests where a couple +P loads were measured to hit 600 ft-lbs out of 11 to 12" barrels and you say 600 ft-lbs isn't 9mm tier?

Are you retarded?

>magic OAL of 26” for a pistol
>7.5 inch buffer tube is pistol buffer tube length of most
>7.5 inch stripped upper receiver
15 inches hell yeah...
>10.5 inch barrel + perm attached muzzle attachment adding at least 0.5”
>or 11 inch barrel
Oh fuck what does that mean once hitting the magic 26” ?!

There is no law in the USA dictating the maximum length of a pistol.
