You should commit suicide

I was reading a post about someone keeping an AR pistol in their backpack a minute ago.

Is there any reason for that? If you have time to break out your pack and withdraw a gun, you've probably gone beyond the bounds of a self defense situation.

The only situation I can see it being viable is keeping it with you at your desk or something, so if the guy who got fired comes in to shoot up the place you can withdraw it and have a more effective weapon.

Putting an Aimpoint Pro on this, want to keep the rear sight , 1/3 vs cowitness what do

Russia could invade us at any time user.

You never know when the main battle will take place.

put a CV scope and use it as a DMR.

1/3 puts the dot on top of the irons

Was worried about it I put one on cowitness and I didn’t think it was 2 cluttered 1/3 will be worse then huh

I'll let you be the judge of your rifle needs.

Colors are too mismatched

Mismatched you say

Attached: 20180815_151918_HDR-1.jpg (3835x1304, 1.15M)

Fixed.
Lower 1/3.

Needs more mismatched colors like purple and white

Can't really tell when I'm shooting it.

Trips. Mismatch. Perfection.

We can tell, sport. We can definitely tell.

>Putting red dot on rifle
>Wants to keep the rear sight
You stubborn luddites sicken me.

KAC. If you're not super concerned about it just get KAC flip front and rear.

Shot like 100-150 rounds of it through the ARX. No malfunctions other than a few dead primers. The ARX is growing on me.

Nice man, good to hear. How long until your F1 gets back on it? Also did you have suppressor plans?

>Shotguns do still have their uses
Elaborate. I'm honestly curious.
>I'll still never understood your autism about fix front sights and hating on lower 1/3 cowitness hieght optics as the same time.
>at the same time
>Implying that it would make more sense if I just hated fixed front sights or lower 1/3rd co-witness irons exclusively
I'm not sure exactly what you're getting at, but the bottom line is that fixed front irons whether lower 1/3rd or absolute occlude the sight picture to some degree, and lower 1/3rd be design results in increased height over bore which comes with its own peculiarities regarding holds at close range.

>youre like 5'7-5'8
Yeah sure dude, whatever.

Huh?

Fingers crossed they will come out eventually. I hope the same for the ARX.

Except that is wrong.

What do gas tube lengths actually effect? Is it just a preference/look thing?

That's a fat optic

youre half chink, its no surprise youre short. no point in lying or hiding it, its common knowledge, even A2 and matey have said youre a manlet.

Oh boy, the jelly brain mutt is here to set us straight.

lmao that rear sight
what rail?

Attached: totallynotedited5.jpg (1960x2004, 1.25M)

Is there a more gucci front sight available?

Attached: kac.jpg (544x544, 13K)

Why are the half breed slanteyes around here so fucking short?

troy buis

Is it normal to need to adjust your sights 12 MOA from the center stadia to achieve a horizontal zero?

Get that KAC quality

Define short? Because im 5 9 and have never hit my head in any cavern, tunnel, ship, sub, or tank.

what exactly is the problem?

>not posting the followup reply to that

what can I do with a bayonet lug? pls recommend a wide variety of attachments and such.

Attached: bestlug.jpg (2000x1125, 380K)

Eotech a beefy optic. Reticle is nice, though.

DD RIS II. It's a factory mk18 upper.

Determines how much gas is being directed to the BCG. Can affect recoil, reliability, parts wear, and etc.

Yeah. Still waiting on F1. There was some snafu that set it back. A lost form or something.

Rear iron is a KAC USMC 600m Micro

>Lost form
Ah that is a bummer. You ever find out more info on modern profile barrels for it?
I'm interested to see how the ARX is suppressed when chopped.

Attached: ARXstronk.jpg (3036x4048, 2.88M)

Arx vs aug

Which wins?

What the fuck is going on in that picture?

Attached: 1536889746007-1.jpg (1210x782, 232K)

aug, even though both are tupperware guns.

Haven't looked into it much. I could always send off an AR barrel in whatever profile I want, it I've already got a 10.5 barrel I'm going to use

Attached: 20180826_170718.jpg (4032x3024, 2.92M)

>wugwuzz wallposting

IT'S TIME TO STOP

Closer to the barrel: hotter gas, higher pressure
This is compensated by changing the size of the hole drilled in the barrel to tap gas: i.e., the hole for a rifle length gas system is larger than a carbine length gas system.

Tapping lower pressure gas is better for reliability of the rifle

Under 5'11"

That's like a retard fight.

I honestly haven't shot the AUG much. IMO the ARX is superior though for a couple of reasons. First they're like half the price if not even less. Second that have traditional carbine ergos which IMO is a pretty big plus in terms of weapons manipulations and stuff like that. ARX is lighter, ARX has more ambi features and better controls. ARX has the swap-able ejection port side and swap-able charging handle side, not to mention the ARX safety selector is more akin to an AR selector than the AUG selector. In addition the trigger, even stock, is far superior to the AUG. Oh did I mention it is $800 vs $1600?

Shooting with friends. You should try it sometime. Take some pictures of your AR while you're at it.

Don't you have the factory 10.5"?

It is time for you to start posting ARs.

Attached: dirtyammo.jpg (4048x3036, 2.18M)

It determines how much gas goes back into the receiver. The closer to the muzzle the gas port is, the less gas will go back into the receiver.

So if you have a 20" barrel your gas port will have to be further down on the barrel than a 14.5" barrel would have it, because if you have a carbine length gas system on a 20" barrel you're going to have high pressure gas going back into the receiver for too long a period of time since the bullet will take longer to leave the barrel.

Or if you have a mid length gas tube on a 14.5" barrel you might not be getting enough gas for reliable cycling because the tube is too close to the muzzle.

Too much gas = more recoil, more carbon fouling, and more parts wear

Too little gas = may not cycle reliably

Yeah. Its factory

I just asked about what looked like mismatched shoes. And thats how you react? Whats wrong wuggy? You feeling okay? Your not acting okay, you should have a snickers.

>wgws is so stupid he mixes 3 shoes together

you're a cup of fucking baby carrots

Attached: 1536804170505.jpg (528x805, 121K)

Just admit that FA is a little faggot and that's why you don't like the Aug.

And the mags

these answers are unacceptable. retry.

do any of you reload .308?

Yes

Use an angle grinder to smooth out the surface

could you give me an example of one of your loads? Do you have experience with 3031?

I want to tighten this up

Attached: PSA_3.jpg (2403x1142, 576K)

Try varget

They still have them in squad cars, as well as still have them for various sports, like 3 gun or clays. I'm not going to say they're better than an AR for like self/home defense, but they can be utilized in that role. Thus familiarity with their unique manual of arms is worth practicing.
>lower 1/3rd be design results in increased height over bore which comes with its own peculiarities regarding holds at close range.
Not in any meaningful way greater that you don't already have to account for. You can get a 7 yard holdover using the front sight instead of the dot this way as well.

Attached: IMG_20180314_085847_processed.jpg (1080x1440, 193K)

Wuggy would be proud of those groups

Try varget or IMR 4895.

>what can I do with a bayonet lug?

chaaaaaaaaaaaarge

Attached: charge.jpg (400x269, 46K)

Real talk: if you can't point shoot minute of bad dude at 20yards, that's no bueno.

You can do that without sights

True enough, you can honestly use most optics as a ghost ring at that distance. But if you need to make a hostage saving shot, knowing your holdovers is nice.

Attached: 1534563148764.jpg (748x468, 29K)

Just get an offset dot you poorfag

Anyone want to buy a ta01?

What's a muzzle break that has a 1/2-28 ID and a tapered down OD to have 1/2-28 threading outside

Attached: Lightweight20AR1.jpg (800x600, 47K)

Yes. That's the point.

Agreed. Hostages on courses are fun and provide a nice moment of pause. Unless you're a floridian

What?

What about an offset See-All?
Russian Rules of Engagement

Attached: 5184Rifle07.jpg (674x450, 36K)

Buy my ta01 to trigger wuggy

>offset see all
The correct answer

Actually yes. Those are neat

Ash, what would you use for taking out sentries, and what would you use for the main battle?

Post it

I like your style

Attached: IMG_20180913_130333.jpg (4160x2497, 2.76M)

I hate all of you

There ain't no muzzle brake like that
But you can port the barrel

yes I have varget and 3031...was looking at 4064 too. I have starline brass with 3 different primers and three different bullets to try. Im a noob and was hoping to get some load data for 3031 and am not finding much for .308

sidenote...holy shit after i posted that pic i went out on my back porch to have a smoke and look at the stars. just down the edge of the hill in my backyard I heard and i shit you not it sounded like a fucking mountain lion. it was growling and snarling fucking loudly. and the motherfucker was closing distance with me. holy shit i grabbed a 9mm and a flashlight and saw eyes circling me to my left and getting closer...every few yards it would fucking snarl. and this motherfucker had bass. holy shit it puckered my butthole. welp...looks like I need to load my 12 gauge now. fuck my adrenaline is pumping how far apart are a mountain lions eyes? just glowing and staring right at me as it got closer....fuck man it was surreal

is that scope legit?

hell yeah

Hodgdon website has load data

hodgdonreloading.com/data/rifle

Lay in varget by the 8lb jug

Not selling to you.

Will aimpoint ever commit a circle dot?

Just wanted to see how beat up it was.

Need help deciding on furniture for 300blk build. Likely and Aimpoint PRO or Aimpoint T2 optic. 8" MCMR rail. 9.5" BA 300blk barrel. LMT MARS L lower. Aero upper. VFG is either going to be an OD or a black stubby Magpul Mlok VFG. Pistol grip is between an A2, MIAD, or K2 in either black or OD. Stock is either a Magpul SL-K, SL-S, or a SOPMOD Enhanced, in either black or OD. Open to suggestions of course, but nothing rubberized. Thanks!

>but they can be utilized in that role. Thus familiarity with their unique manual of arms is worth practicing.
This is such fucking awful logic. A god damn rock can be used for self/home defense. Does that by itself make it worthwhile to train with? Obviously not because a rock is so far from optimal. Shotguns, especially pump guns, are a vestige from the past that are more of a legitimate door breaking tool or hunting implement then they are a weapon.

Forgot that. Good point.

The moment that they make a PRO or T2 style dot with an ACSS I'll be all fucking over that.

Attached: 20180909_145129.jpg (2127x1349, 2.2M)

And just checked, they have 3031 308 loads from 110 to 208 Amax

yeah i have been there but didnt find a whole lot of info i was hoping to talk with someone who has used 3031 for .308 in this projectile grain weight...seems most go imr4064 or varget although i have found a bit of info. seems in my reloading manual the 3031 tends to be used in lighter weight projectiles. I am going to try hornady 165 ssts and 168hpbt along with some 150sp's with either a br-2 primer or more likely cci 200 primers but i also have some winchester primers to try...already have varget too but think i should pick up 4064.

Just pick the furniture that'll win the main battle faster.

really? if so im buying it right now. need a long boi scope.
