The local range provides some reasonably nice wooden gun-rests, went there this weekend and it looked like one was shot point blank with 00 buck.
Heard from another guy at the range that some dumbfuck with a saiga 12gauge lost control and blew a chunk outta the rest and his own guncase and was subsequently banned.

Not range but happened today

My local range is actually very nice. RSOs are very cool, most shooters are bro-tier and will let you try their guns out if you ask. Lots of rich engineers so there's some Gucchi stuff on the bench too.

Generally speaking 1 round per second or slower, but apparently SR&G allows magdumping now as long as you aren't being unsafe. I haven't seen any that do 1 round per minute for sighting in deer rifles or anything shitty like that.

I should do another minimeet, but there's a regular meet coming up Oct 5th-6th (maybe 4th-7th?) on public land which is going to be better anyway. I'm going to SR&G this Saturday with another Kommrade to test out some recent acquisitions if you want to join us.

I've only ever shot on my friend's land but he's sold the property now, and all the out door ranges I'm finding have that one round per second or so rule, and it makes the whole experience a lot less fun.

Weekend of Oct 5th-6th we're doing a meet out at Panoche Hills off I5.
It's public land so you can shoot as fast as you want. Besides which it's basically a campout with others from Jow Forums. I highly recommend trying it if you've never been to a meet. If the 2 1/2 hour drive is too much we carpool too.

Both .243 and 6.5 Cred use .308 Win as a parent case.

either he'd leave it on the bench barrel facing downrange or he'd still have a charge in the thing whereupon he'd be asked to discharge it. whereupon he'd take all eternity to mount it and take careful aim as if he was actually going to shoot anything before discharging it

the thing looked like a fairly contemporary piece of equipment and not like something out of last of the mohicans. it was on this day that I learned that muzzle loaders were still being manufactured and that there was such a thing as hunting permits just for muzzle loaders
