A swarm could easily be destroyed by a flamethrower or spray

And so can a bunker any other sort of imaginable fortified position. That doesn't mean we stopped using those.

Nigga are you telling me you can melt a bunker with a flamethrower

No, you just make everyone inside very dead. It's even better. No enemy, and now you have a free bunker once you scrape the burnt bits off it.

>why haven't we weaponized something that can be killed by bug spray?
A better alternative would be a bee sized drone with an explosive payload

bees can't kill you from several hundred yards away like the people in a bunker or any other sort of imaginable fortified position

>how do we control them?
>how do we keep them alive if we ever want to use them in winter
>how much would it cost
>would it be worth the effort

Awnser these questions OP and you will probably deduce your awnser.

so now you have a drone so small and so light it'll be fried by a radar dish.

They don't have to. They're bees, they're expendable.

Not the bees!

>Why haven't we weaponized bees?
They're pretty bro-tier. They don't attack on sight unless they're africanized or so annoyed that they'd rather sting and commit sudoku than bear another moment with you.

>how do we control them?
Selective breeding to control their default state to be a swarm state. Bees do not attack when swarming, you can literally grab handfuls of them without them bothering to sting you. They move along until the queen finds a place to build a nest.

Also breed them to react to an artificial attack pheromone. The work is already 50% done with this one. Artificial banana scent causes bees to attack, as they mistakenly recognize it as an attack pheromone. You'd probably want to change this to something less easily reproduced and used against you, so like I said the work is half done.

>keep them alive in winter
They literally care for themselves. They shouldn't be expected to be combat capable in winter though.

Pssssshhh....

HOLY JESUS FUCK OFF YOU DISGUSTING LITTLE FREAKS OF NATURE IM PRETTY SURE GOD CREATED YOU JUST TO REMIND US WHY WE SHOULDVE NEVER BETRAYED HIM, YOU FUCKING DEMONIC SPAWN OF HELL AND EVIL AND ALL THINGS WRONG IN THE UNIVERSE

.... nothing personal bugger.

I'll put that shit next to every thing else.

you can stop them by spinning your guns

A virus is better in every conceivable way.

I kinda like the idea. Set the bees up 100 to 200 yards around a emplacement. Breed the bees to attack when they smell gun powder. Bad guys attack and the bees counter-attack.

Imagine all the sexual stuff you could do with bees if they could be controlled

lmao you get my (you), happy thanksgiving user

genetically engineered bees that run off of semen instead of honey

I love Jow Forums

Yeah, just do what Nazi Germany couldn't and make a ClF3 flamethrower.

Entomological warfare is not new but has not been widely used with the exception of the Japanese against the Chinese.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entomological_warfare

heh

bees are slowly but surely going extinct, if you believe in global warming it's not the fucking water levels or the sun you need to worry about, it's every plant on the planet not being pollenized by bees because the bees are dead

we'll probably be genetically modifying bees in the near future if we arent already, so we might literally see new species of bees that fight more aggressively for their survival while being hardier

so we should make bees out of asbestos?

If Brian Cranston can make a laser guided bee canon why can't you?

just give it a real good shake before you throw it
>bee jar for minimal collateral damage
>Yellow jackets for a more serious threat where civilian casualties are acceptable
>Asian Hornets for when you have to empty the entire city block

GUYS GUYS GUYS
WE CAN SAVE THE BEES
>bee's are dying off
>massive hive deaths all over the globe
>if bee's become required for weapons the demand would skyrocket
>massive bee producing plants
>seeing as its a weapon its probably going to be used all over the world
>when used some the bees will do their job and the rest will leave to the wild creating more hives
>bee population goes up
>the world and the entire fauna and flora of the world is saved by a bioweapon
sure you get some really aggresive assault bee's becase they've been bred for war, but we can deal with that later

plants existed before bees nigger

>Why haven't we weaponized bees?
The US has weaponized insects just recently.

I think not nigger, you kill my bees and I'll tie you to an fire ant hill and cover you with fucking honey. I'll shove a pvc pipe up your ass and give you a honey enema, give those fire ants a red carpet path up your shitbox. I'll watch as those little shits eat you alive from the inside out.

>just recently.
not today CIA

Nigga that's a Cazador

Doesn't need to. Flamethrowers quickly use up all the oxygen in the bunker, causing the people inside to pass out.

It gets worse if you hold your breath as the ceiling traps the heat in turning the inside into an oven. You'll live long enough for your skin to start peeling off and your ammo to explode.

Von Lettow during ww1 and mediterranean navies during antiquity used bees as weapons with success.

Attached: 1501520348_fc.png (600x375, 354K)

They have been weaponized... just for invasion and eradication and colonization, not combat.

My area is being swarmed by the Asian "Vespa Velutina" Hornet, an inch-long monstrosity of a wasp. They fly up to 40kmh (thats 25mph), nest absolutely everywhere and eat fundamentally every other insect, stopping pollinization because they dont give a fuck.
If bothered, they attack in a swarm and will not stop until they want to stop or you run sufficiently far away. Each mature nest can carry upwards of 2000 fresh hornets, making over a hundred new queens a year. Do the math yourself.

Weaponizing bees is just ineffective when nature herself gifted us the ultimate airborne pest. Its like throwing hamsters instead of plague rats.

Attached: 1516037968782.png (956x737, 764K)

>until the queen finds a place to build a nest
The queen does nothing of the sort. She is an egg laying machine and does not call the shots. Scout bees identify possible new colony sites and communicate this to their fellow scouts who them decide via hivemind magic prior to swarming. Should a suitable site not be found prior to swarming, they will cluster around the queen on a branch or in another location not far from the hive and send out scouts.

I remember a thread on Jow Forums purportedly posted by a new yank 2Lt asking what he should do when one of his fireteam leaders refused to take up a position because there was a bees nest where the he wanted them. Apparently he yelled at them but they refused to do what he said so after about 5 humiliating minutes he let them fuck off to a different place but was considering NJPing the corporal and asked Jow Forums for advice for some reason.

What a shitshow that thread was.

Real question is:
Why haven't the bees weaponized us?
