So I think it's time to pick up an MP5 clone. I've been looking at the POF MP5 pistol, because it's the cheapest acceptable quality build out there.but I need to know if its truly worth it
Anyone own a POF here

Pof seems roughest of the bunch. Turkshit is unironically best value but hard to find lately
Sp5k is the one I picked despite lack of 3lug. but they are no where to be found now.
Just keep in mind, Pof have gotten scarcer over the past few months. As a result, theyve gone up in price- if you can find one in stock.
Sp5ks are all over gb and hkpro.
gross
OP Here
some specific questions
Do the claw mounts hold zero reasonably well? Like if I throw a micro Aimpoint on it, will it be practical?
What are the ballistics of 9mm out of a longer 9" barrel? Is it reasonable to hit torso size targets beyond 100 yds?
Do they generally feed hollow points?
Are POF mags reliable? Or do I have to pony up $60 for genuine HK mags?
Do they generally feed hollow points?
What you don't want to pay almost $4,000 for the finest US built MP5 clones?
I mean, that looks pretty good. That end cap looks easy to swap for a stock. It’s got a push-pin lower. Wonder how they blocked it from accepting F/A carriers, or if the block is hard to remove.
>Hypothetically of course, I would never do that.
>It’s got a push-pin lower.
Its obviously a clipped and pinned trigger housing. It has no block because it is full auto ready.
was this made by Patriot Ordnance Factory
what does it stand for
Well I guess I’m just fucking retarded, then. You can’t just pop on a real SEF pack, then?
POF = Pakistan Ordnance Factory
The gun in the pic is made by Dakota Tactical since A) Its fucking name and logo is in the pic and B) POF doesn't make a 40s&w/10mm MP5.
No, because the shelf required by the ATF prevents a factory F/A trigger pack from fitting by blocking the physical space required for it to seat properly. The upside is there is no F/A bolt carrier block required and therefore you can used F/A carriers with your modified F/A sear pack. The POF/Zenith guns have a smallers shelf that allows the use of the front push pin but as a consequence requires the F/A carrier block welded inside the receiver. To remove this block you would have to weld on a "normal" sized US shelf first which would block the front push pin hole.
I need to do some research on these then. I’m not familiar with clipped and pinned ones. They mainly modify the housing, correct? Would simply dropping the unmodified “trigger pack” into a C&P housing actually work? Or do you HAVE to modify the receiver to do that?
The trigger pack itself needs to be cut to physical fit over the shelf on the receiver. This cut removes the F/A sear pin completely from a semi pack. A clipped trigger housing also allows it to fit over the shelf, the pinning just makes it look like its using the front push pin instead of the blank or featureless look like on PTR style trigger housings.
Forgot to mention the sear pin hole is moved backwards on the semi and not removed completely. This does not allow the use of a F/A sear.
Ach, I see. I appreciate you explaining it without sperging out and calling me ATF.
So something like a Dakota can never accept a full-auto trigger pack? You can’t just modify the receiver somehow?
All US built guns will not accept a factory F/A trigger pack. However there are trigger packs modified, legally and registered with the NFA, that do fit on those shelves. Fleming sear was the popular choice back before 1986. Which is why when you hear people talk about HK machine guns they usually refer to it as their "sear pack". There are HK machine gun receivers (aka the gun itself) registered before 1986 but those are not as desirable since you cannot transfer its legal machine gun status to another gun like you can with an easily removable sear pack.
I see. I figured that you could modify it to accept a proper trigger pack. Pity.
>shave down block with file or mill it down.
>no one EVER knows the difference
stop me Jow Forums
I mean, because it moves the disconnector pin, wouldn’t that negate the point? I can’t think of any way to convert it back to push pin capable.
Might as well just get a Zenith and dremel off the little BCG block.
Can’t you?
>POF = Pakistan Ordnance Factory
are they any good
there G3 variants are nice
bump
>Not using 10mm MP5SDs
It's like you don't even want to operate.
