it can run on wood and parts are really easy to machine. there wont be any gasoline or parts for ice machinery if that happens

Yes to steam, but the craft would more likely resemble a paddle-wheeled pontoon boat (either stern- or side-wheeler): there's a reason they were queens of the Mississippi

Ideally, the paddle would be entirely between the hulls and extend no deeper than the keels so that the boat could be beached without damaging the drive: get it big enough, and it could act as a mini-ferry for carts and livestock
If it's small enough, salvage a fancy mountain bike that can't be fixed without replacement shocks to make a one-man fishing setup like pic related
