When are companies going to start mass producing replica Garands and other milsurp rifles?

When they can get the cost below 6,000,000 dollars and get more than 3 people to be interested in them

>replica Garands

Its been done with cast receivers and original parts kits. They were expensive and shit. As long as a good original Garand can be bought for less than a thousand, replica Garands will not make any sense.

This. Once milsurp Garands get more expensive than a new reproduction would, enough so that you could easily cover the costs of your machine tools and such, we will see them come out with some. But that time is far away, especially now that many boomers with M1s in their collections will finally pass, with their descendants (hopefully) putting them back out on the market.

>black powder
Makes sense, everything about it is perfect for the replica market. Inexpensive to make, doesn’t require any special permits or loicenses to own, and still enough interest to make a good profit.
>lever actions
Still the most popular huntin’ guns there are in the US, and the cowboy/wild west mythos is still popular today, not to mention they’re extremely iconic weapons in general.
>revolvers
See above.
>1911
You’d be hard pressed to find a gun company that didn’t make their own 1911 at some point.
Basically until OG M1’s go for thousands a piece and actual interest is shown there won’t be replica Garands for some time.

The Garand may have won the war, but it isn't an enjoyable rifle to shoot. It's too heavy, and .30-06 is more of a hunting cartridge than an all day plinking cartridge.

>too heavy
It's fine, and I say that as a 5'5" manlet. Just get an adjustable plug and some light loads for the days you just want to shoot paper or a few bottles.

is it a replica if they never stopped making them? there is a modern demand for things to look older, but the demand for these guns has never really lifted since they were invented.

they all fit in a niche that hasn't been fully made obsolete by technology. WW2 surplus has a niche, but its the historical collectible factor, something a replica can never truly get. they aren't 'rare', millions were made, they are just kinda expensive.

t. someone who has never shot a Garand

The reason is right in your own post. The heavy weight greatly mutes the effect of .30-06 on your shoulder and it's comfy AF to plink with. The only downside is ammo cost, but as far as surp goes M2 ball is some of the cheapest food there is.

Why could companies make reproductions of readily available surplus dipshit?
No one wants a $2500 Garand when they can buy one for $650.

Inland is already making M1 carbines, they're just expensive.

and dogshit

That's a pretty on point post. But did 1911s and lever action 92s bring up to thousands of dollars before other companies were making them en masse?

>replica Garands

>wanting to buy a gun that can't shoot modern ammo

They can shoot modern ammunition just fine with a modified gas plug. The Garand is purposely overgassed to contend with dirt, carbon and what have you.

I'd also argue that very few companies are making winchester 92s compared to 1911s. I wish more would.

1911's have always been popular

>isnt enjoyable to shoot
lol
>too heavy
Not
>.30-06 is a hunting round
You can buy 500 rounds of m2 ball for ~60cpr
>the heavy weight greatly mutes the effect of .30-06 on your shoulder
Does semi-auto make it smoother too since the gas isnt all blowing straight out of the barrel?

I genuinely hope they don't.
I want a new production Garand, not some beat to shit surplus.
