I’ve found that most 3/4in sch40 pipe doesn’t actually fit into most available 1in pipe because of the massive fucking weld seam inside the 1” piece. You’re not going to find sch40 seamless at your local hardware store

SAAMI allows 11,500psi max for shotgun pressure, unless you are shooting 3.50" 12 gauge. Schedule 40 iron pipe has a burst pressure of 8,500psi (though a constant working pressure that is mucb lower). Unless you are fire hot shit rounds, a pipe shotgun will easily last a dozen rounds.

I had a buddy who made one. The shotgun shell kept blowing apart in the “barrel”. sch40 is easy to find, but the welded seam on the inside needs to be filed down.
