Chengdu J-10

In reality, is the J-10B the best Chinese jet at the moment? It's seems a pretty solid jet for the money, could it be a competitor for the F-16 and Gripen markets?

China sucks militarily

If china can't even make good quality knockoffs then why ask this stupid question

I'm talking about the jet itself, not the whole Chinese military.

Well since China sucks at designing military hardware I’d venture to guess that the jet also sucks

What do you expect from a nation that stole ideas from the Russians up until recently

Not much to be honest

It's just a reverse engineered Israeli Lavi

Yea OP, The army of manlets that cant even open their eyes have a good military. They even have enough food to feed their citizens too.

When you glue a Jewish F-16 knockoff to a Mig-21

Pretty good plane with awesome maneuverbility.

But it is no marketed for export.

Literally a mig21 with a nose job

>My plane can stall faster than your plane
Every one of these maneuvers is pointless in real combat, leaves you as a sitting duck. If the pilot trying to kill you is engaging with guns close enough for these maneuvers to work he's an idiot and should be flying transports.

Lavi isn't an F-16

also stop being a deranged incel

Why can't chinks design anything of their own?

Attached: 6vXpbGd.jpg (506x208, 22K)

The question is why they aren't putting these out like crazy to replace the J-7s, when they are so outnumbered by the USAF/USN and US allies in the region. A few hundred J-10s vs 1000s of F-16s/F-15s/F-18s, not counting fifth gens.

Their naval industrial capacity seems to be more implessive, but even then, they have only a few cruisers/destroyers vs the 100 that the USN has. Given their qualitatively inferiority, they should have aimed to outbuild the US and gone nuts by now.

Are they being held back by some production bottleneck like fanblades?

They berieve in letting the more intelligent nations build stuff so they can copy it and post about it's quantum implessive performance that ten times better than American pigdogs.

Not pointless when you can maintain turn faster with less altitude loss during BVR.

A J-10B/C performing a tight and fast turn during BVR can shoot and scoot far better than one that has to bleed a lot of altitude to do that.

Except they do not even look alike at all.

J-10 "copied" more from the Rafale than from the Lavi.
Pic related.

Your numbers are wrong and you’re really dumb

Post stall maneuvering doesn’t do that.

Post stall maneuvering isnt all there is to TVC.

If so, the US wouldnt have bothered with TVC for the F-22, a plane that was built with BVR combat in mind.

The J-10A/B/C numbers are already pretty good considering that China only spends 1,5% of their GDP on military procurement. And China has been building them in numbers only since 2004, alongside other planes like those Sino-Flankers.

its a mig 21 ffs
its made so shitholes can have the illusion of a functional military

>every plane that I dont like because an adversary is using it is a mig21

the face of americunt denial.

no just me being retareded and thinking its a j-7

Even a Gripen C would shit all over a J-10.

Attached: gripen_ms20_2.jpg (640x427, 21K)

it is literally a migraine 21 in a body kit...
Doesn't make it a shit plane (still is tho)

>When you glue a Jewish F-16 knockoff to a Mig-21
That would be the JF-17 (essentially an F-16 planform, F-18 LERX): pretty damn cheap, and it gives up Mach 2 capability for a respectable ordnance capacity

Attached: greyjf17tg8.jpg (1024x768, 129K)

>best Chinese jet
Best made Chinese jet? Yeah probably. Best jet in the PLAAF inventory? Not even close, that'd be the Su-35.

>pajeet still thinks quantum science is some sort of witchcraft and his "le quantum am i right" "jokes" are funny

It's cool.

The Su-35's weapons and radars arent all that impressive by PLAAF standards. Literally what the PLAAF admitted by themselves.

PL-15 and Type 1473 or KLJ-7A AESA are vastly more modern and capable compared to the RVV-AE and Irbis-E.

Su-35 is more maneuverable and has greater range than Chinese Flankers, but its weapons and radars are not that great.

The most capable Chinese fighter is the J-16.
It has the biggest selection of weapons and the longest range AESA in Chinese arsenal.

Attached: long range missile 1.jpg (1706x976, 112K)

China spends a lot more on its military than they publicize. IISS estimates they're spending about $220 billion a year now.

Seeing as the most complex quantum systems are still years away from being useful yeah, to the Chinese they are. If China had quantum processors powerful enough for even a 1000th of the capability they claim they could whipe out Western financial systems in an hour, simultaneously making them the most powerful economic superpower,As well as being able to hack/disable any weapon system in existence. None of which has happened. Given the ccps style of doing whatever they can to stick it to the west there's no way they wouldn't do this if they had the capability. Hence why it's a joke at this point. chinas most powerful quantum processor is barely 100 qubits rn, which is sad compared to whatever mics hiding away in those massive NSA data centers.

America is literally shaking in its boots of China's quantum science.

Which is why they suicided that one Chinese quantum scientist on the same day when they arrested the daughter of Huawei's founder who was scheduled to meet up with him in Mexico.

Including "coincidential" fire at the factory that would supply China with advanced lithography machines to produce such new quantum chips.

Amerikike plz

thats their new engine from this year, they barely got the tech to make the planes asshole brap in the direction they wanted it to go

the 3 bearing swivel nozzle was developed by the US independently and before the Soviet union.

Attached: Convair Model 200 VTOL.jpg (800x549, 95K)

Except that the Convair is a myth and there isn't a single recorded example of it's existence.

TVC on the F-22 is only used post-stall you fucking retard. It’s automated to not kick in before then because it’s actually counter productive.

Wow. So you admit that the F-22 is using useless post stall maneuverings! What a waste of time and money!

Post stall maneuvers aren’t useful for BVR you mongoloid, which is what you claimed.

Wow, so the F-22 attempts to use useless post stall maneuverings in dogfights and make itself a target after bleeding out its energy?

Sasuga shittiest 5th gen ever! This is what you have to do if you dont have HOBS missile cued by an actual HMD like a civilized nation has.

(China's J-20 has HOBS missiles with HMD)

Attached: Dcw0dERUwAAlJoy.jpg (1200x675, 69K)

Did the Popular Science cover art make it as far as the plastic toy model phase?

Attached: 1632482342347.jpg (600x599, 53K)

Nose pointing can be valuable at certain times regardless of the fact that HOBS short range AAMs are a thing. It’s a tool that’s good for a very specific job, that job is not supersonic maneuvers.

Shenyang seems to think the same thing since they’re allegedly working on giving the J-20 TVC. They haven’t yet because it isn’t a priority and it’s benefits have been drastically reduced by the proliferation of HOBS missiles that you’ve kindly pointed out.

I don’t really know what you’re even arguing now. TVC is good for ACM in very specific situations but if used too liberally it can actually become a detractor, which is why the F-22 doesn’t have a TVC button like Sukhois do and the TVC activation is automated.

It allows for a slight reduction in drag at higher speeds but that’s it, it certainly doesn’t improve high speed maneuvering.

*chengdu
All those chink names sound the same to me, sorry

The J-20 would use its future TVC for minimizing canard deflection during maneuvering to improve stealth at BVR.

Sure, but I doubt they’re only adding TVC for that reason alone especially when they can just use elevon deflection and get similar, though worse, RCS reduction.

1. Quantum computing doesn't break prime factoring - it just makes it easier, slightly. Increasing key length by several digits is enough to prevent quantum computing from doing shit.

2. China BSes a lot about quantum capabilities - like "quantum communication" with satellites. Entanglement cannot transmit information.

3. The closest application of quantum anything is quantum radar, which no one can entangle nearly enough atoms for.

Lockheed literally bought Yak-141 designs and lied about partnering. Shame on Yakolev for buying the lies, shame on Lockheed for lying.

Wrong.
codeonemagazine.com/article.html?item_id=137
>A great deal of misinformation has appeared on the Internet regarding the relationship of the Soviet Yak-41 (later Yak-141), NATO reporting name Freestyle, to the X-35 and the rest of the JSF program. The Pratt & Whitney 3BSD nozzle design predates the Russian work. In fact the 3BSD was tested with a real engine almost twenty years before the first flight of the Yak.
>Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the Soviet Navy wanted a supersonic STOVL fighter to operate from its ski jump equipped carriers. At what point the Yakovlev Design Bureau became aware of the multi-swivel nozzle design is not known, but the Soyuz engine company created its own variant of it. The Yak-41 version of the nozzle, from published pictures, appears to be a three-bearing swivel duct with a significant offset “kink.” The Yak-141 also used two RKBM RD-41 lift engines – an almost identical arrangement to the Convair Model 200 design. The aircraft was also re-labeled as a Yak-141 to imply a production version, but no order for follow-on series came from the Russian Navy.
>Yakovlev was looking for money to keep its VTOL program alive, not having received any orders for a production version of the Yak-141. Lockheed provided a small amount of funding in return for obtaining performance data and limited design data on the Yak-141. US government personnel were allowed to examine the aircraft. However, the 3BSN design was already in place on the X-35 before these visits.

>Kevin Renshaw served as the ASTOVL Chief Engineer for General Dynamics and was later the deputy to Lockheed ASTOVL Chief Engineer Rick Rezabek in 1994 when the 3BSD concept was incorporated into the X-35B design. Renshaw continues to work in the Advanced System Development branch of Skunk Works where he is currently working on flight demonstration of the DARPA ARES VTOL UAV program.

>Model 200 3BSD
>This figure from the 1972 Convair Model 200 proposal shows the installation and actuation of the 3BSN. On the Convair design, the rudder actuator would have been mechanically coupled to the yaw control bearing on the engine. On the X-35 and F-35, the engine swivel motors are controlled by the digital flight control system. The basic actuation scheme of the nozzle is identical to the X-35, including the loop in the fueldraulic line to accommodate the swivel motion.

Forgot picture.

220BN out of 12.24 Trillion GDP is still only 1.8%

>Lockheed literally bought Yak-141 designs and lied about partnering. Shame on Yakolev for buying the lies, shame on Lockheed for lying.
Shame on you for lying.

What makes it even more funny how some russian tank prototypes only present in some few crude drawings have been used as proof for certain tank technologies for years by the vatniks.

You’re literally retarded.
