In criminal history it seems like only crimes done in couple of years affect weapon ownership and it is possible for you to keep firearms even after minor battery.
I have read that after manslaughter cooldown is around 20years assuming there is no other crimes during that time.
As for someone telling that theyre "afraid of you" no proof needed cooldown is 3-5 years.

I have no idea about current laws, but my family is from Denmark and a family friend (Grandparent's neighbor) is a huge gun and military nut. Last I visited him was in the late 90's and he had, at the time, around 300 guns ranging from muzzleloaders to modern mag-fed semiautos. The guy even owned a cannon which he'd take out and shoot on holidays, new year's eve, etc.

I know this thread is retorical anyway, but most of these countries does not allow foreigners to simply immigrate. Half of Africa and the entire Middle East is already trying. Worry less about the guns and more about what skills you have that might get you in. Monkey trainer, sheep herdsman and banana picking will not grant you even a work visa.

If they are an EU citizen moving and working here is easy as shit, die to the freedom of movement. If you are a non-Euro then it's harder, but again if you have a semi-decent education or some kind of skill it should not be too hard to get in
