I've got a Latin and a Kukri, but I'd like a Golok.
Depends on where you are but cane will carve you a path through any swamp land you find yourself in easy enough.
>just get a golock bruh
>*crack*
Now bowie, that was a knife.
>*sip
golok or parang
latin, holmes.
I keep one in my truck for hacking brush when I'm working on fences. It was what the local hardware store had and it was cheap.
Barong
Depends on what foliage you're cutting.
Didn't David Bowie of the alamo invent and write a song about that knife?
I have one from Harbor Freight that I cut stuff down with.
Those are all good and will cut anything, but each is specialized for an individual purpose.
Sure, but the cane knife is great because that little hook can be used to grab stuff that you cut without putting your hand into it. Then you drag the crap out of your way and keep cutting.
Another exciting edition of Knives in my Bedroom.
cane machete is the one i most often reach for, but it depends on what you're choppin
To me the machete is such a crudely made tool that while being thankful to have one when I need it, I don't really need to spend time thinking about the different types of machetes.
panga and kukri look the coolest. Kukri is probably more effective even though most mass produced ones are basically cheap knock offs of a kopis.
I'm partial to a nice long ~24" Latin machete. Keeps my out of reach of thorns and such while having enough mass and advantage to lop through a lot of stuff. What ever you choose op use a fucking lanyard around your hand/wrist though.
I have the heavy kind I use in the kitchen mostly
For general use
>Panga
For kewl
>parang/golek
For laughs
>Bowie/barong
For masochists
>Kukri
For when you should just use an axe
>Bolo/heavy/tapango
For people who like sharpening their tools after every swing
>Cane
For people who like breaking their tools
>Latin
Just get something with a decent length, broad, flat, curved blade. A full tang and solid wood handle would be ideal because plastic shit gets loose and breaks easily, but good luck finding that.
I have the cold steel kukri, and after wrapping the handle in athletic tape, it's quite nice.
But it depends on your flora, here vine maple is a bitch, which can be viney when young. But is still a hardwood, so thinner normal profile machetes just bounce off it since it's a springy hardwood.
is that the spetsnaz shovel?
Cold Steel's clone of it, yeah.

Go away ivan.
Cane.
>Whats the best machete type?
for what job?
Tapanga masterrace
Chanceinhell: meme or solid option?
>did somebody say cut down the tall trees???
I owned of of these for a couple of years. The handle finally broke this summer while clearing paths in an ancient apple orchard/berry patch on state land. Not great, but you get what you pay for.
Kabar kukri still goin strong after 6-7 years
What machete did the hutus use?
A billhook
no, it was Davy Crockett
Hutu powwwwwwaaaaaaa, mah bruddderrr!
not standardized.
i prefer a slingblade. some calls it a kaiser blade but i call it a slingblade
i grew using a Latin and I'll probably keep using it for the rest of my life.
No it was Daniel Boone
You got any biscuits in there?
John Boone, went to the Moon
No fast cars, he went to Mars
Looks like mainly panga types
It is pretty nordic thing I think.
I have a gerber golok but it looks more like Latin, it's pretty solid. Good chopper, has claimed several trees and cleared the road to a fishing hole.
Felt the need to post this autistic man child somewhere and this seems like the right thread.
I like my kukri
I have a cold steel kukri it’s cheap so no worries about abusing it mainly use it too cut through branches when I’m out bush cutting new tracks gets the job done and lasted me years with a sharpen ever now and then
MmmHmm..
*rubs hands and lifts chin*
I agree
Ah yes, the Budk special.
Could you pick me up a Kabar katana while your out?
Does this count as HEMA now?
I love that you are larping about sword fights while pretending a machete can even compete in such a conflict. Machetes are for lopping off heads of refugees and limbs from unwanted trees. A real blade will destroy a machete.
I now want to see a reenactment of Stalingrad were it's just a bunch of dudes beating each other with their rifles.
Dude, it'l literal from an official manual. If you have a problem with it you should start digging.
tramontina and imacasa best
He can be an anus, but he's been supportive of my equally autistic channel so I don't hate him.
Pennato, Tuscan design that predates the Roman civilization.
t. Tuscan mountain hobo.

I've never been in support of eugenics until now.
Parang and Golok are the best for machete fighting.
Never seen a Kim Stanley Robinson reference on here before. Just finished Green Mars, going to start Blue Mars after I finish the Koran.
for me, it's the kukri. the best machete.
on a serious note, for purposes of clearing brshu and shit its pretty good, you can use the curved blade to grab thing and push them out of theway.
>The Bolo is represented by some mallninja bullshit as opposed to the actual fucking thing.
Disgusting, really.
>*crack*
That Daniel Boone was a man. He was a big man.
>*sip
Bolo. Hands down, half axe half knife
i've only owned latins but i really want a kukri so i can throw piss jars at invisible people while sniping fat people with miniguns
Given this is Jow Forums asking I'd say the bowie or the barong as they are the most suitable for use as a weapon. Arguably the kukri as well
If /out/ were asking I'd go with the Latin for as far as clearing shrubby vegetation
My pops has a Bolo, albeit a bit rusty.
Kukri in my opinion
Latin is what I’m used to, but the small handle plus the way the blade vibrates becomes complete hell on your wrists if you smack anything thicker than medium sized tree branches.
too thin
this
Billhook.
based
More like solid meme trash.
>Bolo and Latin
Nice and clean styles.
Kukri is also good but shame I don't even have blood of the Gurks
The kukri is a good all around tool but it’s a mediocre machete
Fuck off you and your dirt common roncola from any farmer shed
Tapanga
It's a good machete if you live in the PNW
Shes not a very good machete you psycho
is the kukri a good weapon ? can you stab with it ?
Yeah, but chopping is where it shines.
With bladed weapons generally length is your greatest factor on choosing a weapon.
I like you
Danny Trejo
i am thinking of using a kukri for home defense so swinging is a little limited in hallways and tight corridors
that is why if it is a good thruster, i will get it, is it viable for thrusting ?
Mr. Potter we must work together to defeat David Bowie
You're a fucking idiot
