Don't you worry about people seeing you with that? Or are you in a really remote area ?

Roommate problem user here, the wackest shit just happened. I told my roommate I wanted to talk about guns because I wanted to get to the bottom of whatever her problem is, and she flat out broke down crying. What in the actual fuck, I'm living with a child.

>I'm living with a girl

Move. Find new roommates that respect your rights to own machined peices of wood, steel, and sometimes moulded polymers, with a federal license

just move apartments, man. It would be easier

Is this full auto? Also is there a way to tell if all variants are full auto from photos? (Like you could with an ar on the fire control)

I was hoping not to because the place I've got now is cheap for the area and my roommates are chill besides this issue with one of them. If she continues to not act like an adult though I very well might move out.

Right on buddy! I hope you have fun with it!

3-position safety. up-safe, middle-auto, down-semi and its sitting in the middle there. Also, The Mole^tm is the only one here with a functioning 74 iirc so he'd never settle for less

C'mon we have the nice russian ones here

Skelly has one too but he thought he was clever by stamping valmet on it and registering it and neutering it. As far as I know he neutered it

>3-position safety. up-safe, middle-auto, down-semi
you can do this on any AK. the way to tell is the third axis pin.

>woman
What did you expect

fellas, just got my PAL, looking to get a semi-auto rifle. I've got my eye on one of two choices, and I've deduced the pros and cons of each. Please tell me your suggestions.

SKS
Pros:
>cheap
>cheap ammo
>pretty wooden stock
>Russian (at least in design)
>has a bayo
Cons:
>no gas shutoff
>unimpressive effective range
>uses intermediary rifle cartridges (I prefer full-powered cartridges)

Norinco M305
Pros:
>gas shutoff (satisfies my fetish for straight-pullback)
>uses full-powered cartridges
>sexy black poly stock
>removable magazine
Cons:
>expensive
>American (at least in design)
>awkward to close the action when empty

em, perhaps she had some sort of traumatic experience with guns? Be that the case or not, I would probably avoid the topic so long as you can carry on with yourself. Do you own or plan on owning any guns?

My GF is 100% fine with me owning guns and wants me to take her target shooting though ;)
I doubt it, I've asked before and she just said they give her the heebie jeebies, same as being afraid of the dark. I plan on owning a vz. 58 in the near future, but unsure of how I'll proceed if she continues having a problem. Seriously just considering owning it in secret until I can afford my own apartment, it's not like I'll be going out often because there's no ranges around where I live.

Why is an African trying to deprive Canadians of firearms?

M305 could be a fine hunting rifle for any game in Canada. If you're just target shooting, get the SKS and a can of surplus ammo.

Hm, alright then, sounds like she's just being a wamyn. Yeah, I wouldn't let her stop you. Not like she could anyhow.

Last time I ask before pulling the proverbial trigger in case more anons in the know showed up.
Any reason why I shouldn't get a Savage 10BA Stealth or is it breddy gud in general?

Can someone link me to the original post?

Use the archive faggot

Thank you for the suggestion, fren. I will not be hunting, only target shooting.

Beautiful view, where may you be?

I'd get the SKS and save up for a different .308 later on.

Absolutely beautiful. Onterrible slave here, you have my respect.

I've got both rifles.
(disclaimer, I'm also a newbie)

SKS:
you pretty much nailed all the pros. Aside from those its pretty reliable. Ive never had a malfunction with mine and ammo is still readily available, be it surplus or commercial.
There are sks' with gas shutoffs, yugo ones, but they cost more.
frontierfirearms.ca/yugoslav-era-m59-66-sks-rifles-7-62x39-w-grenade-launcher-compatible-barrel/
What do you mean, unimpressive effective range? Accuracy, power at range? What distances?

M305:
Long barrel ones are cheaper, and if you think $650 is expensive, don't look at other NRs.
Who cares if it is american. What country of origin do you want ?
>awkward to close the action when empty
Not any more awkward than the sks. Or just remove the mag and drop the bolt

The biggest issue I have with the m305 right now is ammo. All the gun stores around me have run out of 7.62 NATO or cheap 308.
>inb4 buy online
I know
>inb4 poorfag
I dont need $2/round ammo for blasting pop cans

Your concerns are pretty trivial 2bh. I would suggest getting both.

Just don't tell her about it. Stop trying to reason with women. Learn about rhetoric vs dialectic.

98% of women are rhetorical thinkers. You literally cannot reason with a rhetorical thinker, because reason is dialectic.

Look at me
I am da Canadian now

Thank you for your information, it was very insightful. I was told by the gentleman at the store that the SKS is only really good for shooting at 100 m. The M305 is can do ranges father than this. I was simply attracted to the more statistically impressive rifle, but, I suppose I shouldn't worry about something as trivial as that. As much of a turn-on straight pull-back action is, I think I may just forget it. What can you say about the reliability of either rifle under dirty conditions?

Because crying gets her what she wants much easier than burning all those calories in her brain trying to make logically sound arguments.
Leave. Not because of guns, but because she is a walking pile of red flags and the last thing you want is to be near her when she eventually goes nuclear over something stupid and petty. Start browsing padmapper/kijiji/etc.

we live in a [mutliethnic] society

Attached: theres people in the world.jpg (300x300, 13K)

just get a firearm anyways and don't tell her (as you have no obligation to). Keep it in a case and if she ask, tell her "dont worry about it". If she starts with some bs like 'I don't want guns in the apartment', say "lol, ok" and walk away. You are letting someone else dictate YOUR life. Stand up for yourself

Attached: 1539729832556.jpg (399x296, 47K)

If you're hunting with an SKS, then yeah. You don't want to stretch much past 150 yards for a clean kill.
The M305 has a lot more power, but is about as accurate (arguably worse), so your groups will get too large to reliably harvest game much further than the SKS (though, obviously, I'd rather take the M305 than the SKS for Moose at any range)
>dirty conditions
Both have actions that are wide-open and will clog up with gunk and stop functioning, so keep them clean.

Neat. I'll have to drop by sometime.

>SKS is only really good for shooting at 100 m.
Don't take his word as truth

>under dirty conditions?
lol, do you mean like not cleaning it? or getting dirt and shit in the action?
I can speak for the former, they will both preform well. No difference compaired to fully cleaned for me.
As for the latter,, go watch a YT vid on it.

Not to be condescending, but do you think you are going to be trudging through the western front or something? They arent' rifles that need to be meticulous cleaned to work properly. Its not gonna be a big deal

My best advice for you is to watch YT vids on the guns if you can't get your hands on them.

The M14 will take a bayonet
M14 is uncomfortably heavy compared to sks.
Sks is. 35c/round, M14 is $1-2 per round but just blasting from the hip gets boring AND the greater recoil of the 308 just fills your desire faster.
Get a used m305, 450-550 shipped. The plastic stock sucks, go usgi walnut or fiberglass.

I didn't know if that was fully down or in the middle, thanks for the clarification regarding

Just bought a Carl Gustaf. Did I do good k?

>heavy

Attached: laughing_girls.png (563x503, 847K)

Sexy. What's the damage?

$600 for matching

Get the gun, get a black box hard case, if she ever asks it's expensive fishing rods.

Attached: pablo the lizard about to slap you.png (785x757, 123K)

hey mole man what's the longest you've left your vehicle parked unattended in the woods?

>tfw 5.45 is cheaper than 308

i assume since you plan on buying one gun budget is an issue, definitely go sks for cheaper ammo

Almost a week but I usually try not to leave it on the side of a road or a parking area I always try driving in a bit so its obscured by trees at least

>I always try driving in a bit so its obscured by trees at least
gotcha, that probably helps, do you see many abandoned/burned out vehicles out there?

i see them all the time and that what makes doing this worrisome for me

So anybody else have feeding issues with their ASC 10/30 mags? Just about every time I take mine out, a few rounds in, at least one round will end up getting pushed into the inside of the gun, usually just below the feed ramps. Never had that with my old IMI 10 rounders.

Attached: 20181219_134924.jpg (4032x1960, 3.23M)

Type97 Gen 1?

Nope, sorry forgot to mention what rifle. M&P 15 Sport 2.

Do the ASC 10/30 mags have anti-tilt followers? Does the spring pressure feel significantly weaker than the other mags?

have you tried loading and unloading by hand to see if they act weird? just got mine and havent taken them out yet so interested to see whats up

They have anti tilt followers yeah

Do you mean chamber and ejecting manually one by one from my AR?

Does it cycle when you manually pull back the CH and then let it return under spring pressure?
If it functions properly in the rifle (use snap caps if at home), then my instinct is that it's how quickly/far the bolt cycles. If the bolt closes before the next round is all the way in position, then that could slam it under the feed lip.

yes, you could also just load the mag and strip rounds with a spare round if you dont want to chamber a live round in your house, but that would be less useful.

Attached: 1526599631778.png (368x425, 249K)

Tried one mag, had no issues, second mag jams up consistently when trying to chamber the second round

Attached: 20181219_163231.jpg (4032x1960, 2.27M)

Way to go based leafs

6' actually, just don't want any faggot burgers in my cangen. They can all fuck themselves for being born dirty yankees.

6'1.5" here. Pipe down short stack

Attached: 1541206929278.jpg (525x505, 68K)

Tried each mag multiple times, it was really inconsistent when it would happen, but three of the four mags had issues multiple times, all failing to feed in the same way, usually on the second round, though I did have one fail to feed on the first round one, and one fail to feed on I think the fifth round once. Then sometimes it would feed all 10 rounds no issue, with me doing nothing different as far as I can tell, it's bizarre.

Are there any compact .22lr rifles? Norinco made/makes that 13" JW15a but it's impossible to find anywhere, even used.

Ruger 10/22 takedown ?
Chiappa little badger folder?
Or do you mean barrel length ?

Why?

Henry makes a Mare's Leg, and several other companies do:
tradeexcanada.com/content/henry-lever-action-mares-leg-22-lr

You could put a youth-length stock on it and that would be pretty compact.
