Hey lads, do any of you know where I can get a legit dissipator 16 inch heavy profile barrel? Everywhere I look it's all either lightweight profile or a faux dissipator with a carbine length gas system.

Is it easier to just get a rifle length barrel and cut it down and have it threaded?

This but I want a fake dissipator for a longer sight radius on a rifle length gun. Seems like every heavy barrel is slightly smaller past the gas block seat. How the hell do you make one?

I looked, but no dice. It's proving pretty dang difficult to find. I am almost wondering how much it would cost to get an 18 or 20 inch barrel turned down to size.

Because free floated rails aren't consistent sight mounting systems. Minute of a man, yes, maybe even as good as 3 moa, but a thin handguard made of 6061 fashioned to a barrel nut with a handful of screws is going to flex more than the barrel itself.

I like shooting small groups with irons. I also like the look of a real sight at the end of a barrel instead of a flip up dingy on a handguard.

Also, does anyone know when magnifiers became common? I’d like to get an aimpoint mag to throw on the larue riser behind the EOkek, but from all of the pictures I’ve seen, they didn’t see any real use until CAG went to 416s.

I've come to the same conclusion
I leave those first pic slots empty to tuck a magnifier in behind the eotech, but I've yet to see any pics of an assaulter rocking a magnifier on the M4A1.
Most of the magnified optics I've seen in pics are S&B short dots.
Honestly considering going the poorfag route for that and putting a strike eagle 1-6 as a secondary optic on mine.

I have a Steiner and a Razor on my other ARs. I kind of wanted to do something different on this one, and from everything I’ve read, short dots are extremely underwhelming for the money. They were popular in the early 2000s because they were the only real option for an LPVO, but I’ve read that they’re really not very competitive anymore. So that’s why I was thinking about adding a magnifier to this one even though the G33+T2 combo I used to have sucked ass compared to any decent LPVO.

I strongly considered the Razor but I can only seem to find it in a burnt bronze type color. Is the PA better than the Strike Eagle in the 400-500 range?

I think so, both in glass clarity and reticle. It is breddy gud for such a cheapo scope, PA really knocked it out of the park with the raptors.

Razor is only in the burnt bronze color, that's just how it be. Looks real nice on rattle canned rifles.

Is Accupower 55gr 1-4x on LWRC good? I heard their barrels are only good on 62 gr.

I think that is the old regular gen II, 25.2oz. The gen II-e is 21.5oz, they updated it to be a little lighter. Still pretty chunky but hey, it is durable af.
