The gun would be hot and steaming and there would be spent cases everywhere. Even if they forgot beforehand they could probably run it in the engagement because that's priority one and oil it during a lull.
All those fucking cartridge oiling MGs can run at least a few rounds at a time with zero oil. The oil just makes it more reliable. And fire, even intermittent due to feed issues, is superior to no fire.

the type11 will rip the rim off the cartridge if there's no oil since it has such a violent extraction. That would shut the gun down for good so the loader should add oil if it's try rather than feed more rounds and rip a rim.... also it's just a Mongolian finger painting

it's basically a french hotchkiss 1914 but smaller and lighter. The Japanese copied a lot of french ww1 era stuff from hotchkiss like the 25mm type 96. They were expecting another russo-japanese war or ww1 but got mobile warfare. in the mid 30's the type 11 lmg and type 92 hmg did great in the static warfare against Chinese forces. I mean... alot of countries had worse lmgs
