sturdy wool overcoats are extremely useful in winter. got surplus one for $35, have been wearing for about a decade.

I've worn the same green M65 since before I joined the Army, all the way through my service and continue wearing it now. It's a very good coat in my opinion.

For daily use, just exchange the brass buttons with black ones and you'll be fine. For larp purposes, keep the buttons and add a Sam Brown belt preferably in black. An ushanka hat with black gloves tops it. Alternately, a white cap and white gloves. They'll think you are fucking Eisenhower.
