No question.

neither. the handguard should end just before the gas block seat, as the rifle was designed to have a combined gas block and front sight.

mounting a flip up sight to a handguard is less than optimal and significantly less functional due to accuracy issues resulting from pressure applied to the handguard or damage incurred to it during a drop. stop trying to copy the aesthetic of the scar if you can't pay scar money for a true monolithic upper. barrel nut mounted handguards are not as secure and solid as a single piece of metal.

You know it's true. AR15s are plague by cowadooty zoomers trying to copy the looks of more expensive rifles without knowing they're building inferior systems because 3 gun doesn't quite put them through the rigors of combat.

I wouldn't trust my life to this tactical shit.

I wouldn't go into a non permissive environment running polymer magpul buis, but at the same time, the idea that an FSB is the only good, or even the best, choice on a modern AR platform is fucking retarded. also, gas blocks outside the handguard are pleb tier.

get a nice set of buis and a durable optic. keep the weight of the handguard down and the quality of the barrel and BCG up. that's how you build a good AR.

>14.5 pin and weld confirmed
I have to swap mine for a suppressor mount soon so it's a good thing I did a shit job welding...

>stamping an AR
Guess who's the real brainlet here

You dont need to pin shit. Vs Miller has the supreme court saying that SBRs should be regulated because theyre not common for the military to use.
Well guess what. They are now. Stop stamping like a fucking cuck. Or welding a jank muzzledevice.

You first...

> Tfw stuck with a gucci monolithic 15.7
Honestly, I wish someone would buy it. I’d rather have a classic A2.

A 14.5" barrel is hardly more compact than a 16" and costs velocity at the muzzle for it. If you plan on operating indoors, on rooftops, and/or street to street, then 11.5" is the way to (you're gonna have to run gucci ammunition)

If this is your first AR then the 14.5

>hardly more compact
This is how I know you don't have experience with both...

The point of it over an A4 clone being?

Chungus
Unapologetically I am going to build a 16" AR-10 to mimic a SCAR-H. What makes proprietary so good?

Dropping 3 inches off your barrel isnt "negligible" it is a big deal. Its a whole tenth of an AR15s overall length.
Wanna give me every dime for every dollar you spend since you dont think its a big deal?

Notwithstanding, a 14.5" barrel is the worst of both 11.5" and 16" worlds.

A 20" is no substitute for a DMR in an engagement beyond 300 meters

Excuse my post. My ability to read is fucked. I thought you had said 14.5 to 11.5 difference was negligible. I instead realize you meant 14.5 to 16.

No worries, the important thing is that no one is pin welding a good comp/brake on a POS 14.5" nor wasting a stamp on a POS 14.5"

I agree. Every man should have a 10.3/10.5/11.5 and a 16/18/20. Just one of each. All that 556 can really offer.

>10.3/10.5
What's the point of those if you aren't running a suppressor?

Why aren't you running a suppressor?

11.5 if truly going to be used for up to 200 yards.
If any further go for the 14.5.

>personally biased towards 11.5 myself.
