If you could only have one revolver what would it be?

If you could only have one revolver what would it be?

Those are pretty sweet

No, I actually want to shoot the guns I own.

I’ve wanted one, but can’t justify getting it

Dan Wesson 715

Colt Walker, it's alt fire is a smokescreen.

colt open top conversion to 45LC

Nagant M1895.

after owning this thing for a while, I would be more than happy to keep it as is. if I had to pick something different, I would go to a 4 inch. I fucking love this 7 shooter

Attached: IMG_20180901_102813346_HDR.jpg (4032x2268, 1.13M)

why on earth would you pick one of the worst revolvers ever made

That is a damn fine choice, and it's seriously tempting, but I'm kinda in love with my Smith and Wesson 586. If/when I get a .44, mmmaybe it will take the top spot.

What year?

I think it's around 2003 ish. it's a -6

Practical? LCR with 38 wadcutters tucked in my pocket year round.
Impractical? Vaquero 45 with handloads on my hip, being a good boy.
Dream? Mateba 2006m

Attached: index.jpg (299x168, 8K)

That is one bad MF
great choice! Is that a 686 plus?

what anime is that pic from?

Ghost in the shell I think

Cuz I'm a GOD DAMMED RED BLOODED AMERICAN. MY FOREFATHERS FOUGHT FOR THE RIGHT TO OWN BAD REVOLVERS, AND EVERY ROUND OUT OF THAT THING IS A WORD OF THANKS TO THE FOUNDING FATHERS.

If I had to choose one revolver.....
I think I would choose the 4 inch S&W model 66-8.

Attached: wm_6356006.jpg (640x480, 46K)

Single Action Army for cowboy LARPing. I have autoloaders for the practical stuff.

If we're talking one revolver and that's the only gun you can have, then S&W 686 with a 4-inch barrel.

Attached: gun collection 3.jpg (1202x1964, 1.5M)

Blackhawk .357 because I like the dark tower series

Colt snake guns > everything else mentioned

Remington 1875 in 45LC.

Attached: 186.jpg (1800x798, 103K)

This. Goes well with my .44 lever gat.

Meatball Unica 6.

3" M66

Attached: S&W 66-2.jpg (640x480, 114K)

Single Action Army, this one an Uberti Cattleman. It's not the most practical but it's fun making holsters for it.

I'd have to say either a Mateba 2006m, or a Schofield style top-break in .357 mag, pic related. I think the reason no one makes them in magnums is probably because of a insufficient strength in the locking mechanism, so it'll probably never happen.

Attached: OhMsEnm.jpg (4272x2848, 738K)

Is that a motherfucking dark tower reference

Not really, I did the oxblood tooled piece a few days earlier because I was bored, but couldn't really think of what to do with it until I got the gun and made the holster for it. It does work pretty well as a Dark Tower reference though.

Attached: 20181215_220645.jpg (1040x776, 136K)

Was on mobile before. This is my 28 its got weird old grips which somehow fit my hand really well. It just beats my 586 which was my first revolver.

I don’t know if I want a gp100 or Blackhawk 357.

Which one is stronger, and which is more accurate?

what do you plain on shooting? nothing but max spec 180 grain loads? if not, get a S&W

Model 29 6.5" barrel, no Hillary Hole, and cylinder that has the back of the chambers counter sunk.

Typically the one with the smaller sight radius (ie a longer distance between rear and front sights) is going to be more accurate. Get the longer barrel. GP100 is stronger.

I plan to put a shitload of rounds through it

Recessed cylinder is so comfy.

What makes the GP100 stronger?

I’d think what is essentially a .44 magnum repurposed for .357 would be more durable considering gp100s can only survive .44 special.

Muh 25-5 in 45 Colt.

Attached: 100_2504.jpg (2048x1536, 1.08M)

fucking look at them, dope. GP100 has a larger frame and a buttressed barrel.

Attached: gp100vsblackhawk.jpg (611x583, 26K)

fucking jealous.

I prefer DA and swing out cylinders for being more convenient, but you can probably be more "accurate" with a single action

19-6

Attached: unica.jpg (1024x577, 154K)

Larger looking frame =/= stronger

I'd give my left nut for a modern replica Griswold that was chambered in .357

Attached: 56856956709.png (600x338, 241K)

gib spess gun

Single actions are generally stronger and like another user said, the Blackhawk can take .44 magnum whereas the gp can only take specials

Replied to the wrong post sry

You already know.

Attached: rsz_img_20181021_201459729.jpg (1512x2016, 683K)

But its weakened by having a swing out cylinder. That single action can handle .45 LC hot loads or .44 magnum where as the gp100 will never be able to hence the Redhawk exists.

GP-100 and full-size Blackhawk are in different size classes.

GP-100= Security Six, Model 19, L-frame, Colt OP.

Ruger Blackhawk = S&W N-Frame, Colt Anaconda, Ruger Redhawk.

The swing out cylinder really doesn't enter into it.

That one, but with an 8 shot .357 cylinder and blued.

The SP101 is stronger than a 686, so the gp100 is somewhere above L frames

I’d have to go with a dan Wesson ppc in 44mag. I’m sorry Jow Forums but it’s not easy bing the only one here with taste.

Attached: A5F83D21-55CE-4D05-9A97-E6B77E1CFBFB.png (1334x750, 1.27M)

believing this fuddlore shit.

Crane locks are SO IMPACTFUL that Smith and Wesson didn't even include one on the X-Frame. The most powerful revolver, the SW500 doesn't have a crane lock.

The whole "Rugers are stronger" thing is just a pure meme spouted by retards who know nothing about revolvers.

Who said shit about crane locks? I’m talking about the frame, forcing cone and cylinder

>implying a swing-out loading gate isn't a weakness
just buy whatever the fuck you want if you aren't going to heed answers to the questions you ask

Probably redhawk in 45 colt/acp

>dan wesson
>taste
pick one

Goddamnit i love ppc revolvers

1851 Navy Richards Mason conversion in .38 special.

Attached: 1851 Navy RM Conversion.jpg (1500x820, 94K)

Anything in 357 cause 38 and 357 are both great.

Maybe 22 cause a 22 range toy sounds fun.

>If you could only have one revolver what would it be?

colt 1851

No Manurhin MR-73 in this thread?
Sure, it's silly and French, but it's also hella overbuilt.

Attached: Manurhin-MR73.jpg (3000x1381, 370K)

Currently saving up for one, then a massive year long wait for it to get here from the moment of purchase.

It's worth it.
I'm jealous. I've had the opportunity to put a few rounds through one, but it will be a long while before I can even think about affording one.

If I'm dropping that much cash on a revolver, I'll get a korth

Kind of want pic related.
Ruger Redhawk (5060) in .357Mag with 8 shot cylinder cut for moon clips.
Pretty expensive though, but I could sell my CZ75 to fund it

Attached: 3.jpg (475x223, 14K)

If you hunt or like full power heavy loads get the Ruger. If you want to go to war or self defense get the Smith. Full power loads are not needed for human. Quality is needed for human. If you get the Smith save money and order one with all the factory custom work.

hawt

I have a .44 super blackhawk but the idea of having a SAO gun for bear defense is kind of spooky to me. Might wanna go in on a Redhawk...

Same except out of pocket. I also have an SP101 I'm not in love with but meh.

my ruger vaquero in .44 magnum

My dad gave me a 28-2 6 inch for my birthday one year, fucking love that thing

revolverbrahs, what is a good price and/or a good source for training .38 spl ammo? I came upon a few new revolvers and I want to shoot them but I’m a penny-pinching poorfag

Fuck you, it's a hypothetical

Stay on Jow Forums and ask questions, user. This is only temporary.
Soon you'll begin to see the light.

My GP100 with a 6 inch barrel.
Sturdy, stylish, and fires .38 special when Im feeling frugal and .357 for everything else.
