Could we have a no BS thread about how the situation in Afghanistan will develop should Trump pull through with his plan to bring half the US forces currently overthere home?
Will we see the collapse of parts of the afghan security forces? Will the whole map turn orange and red?

>how the situation in Afghanistan will develop
they'll turn into a country of muslim fanatics, which is exactly what they want. why keep trying to prevent it?

>will the Taliban take over
Yes.

Russian education everyone. The second we pull out, our allies will lose faith in us. This is exactly what the Russians want. We can't maintain economic and military hegemony without upholding our values. We can defeat the taliban. Trump just needs to nut up and fully commit to the effort, we'd be in and out in a couple of weeks. We are so close to winning. Unfortunately cheeto man takes orders from putin and not military and foreign policy experts who's literal job is to handle matters such as these

>fighting war in Afghanistan for 17 years with no end in sight
>objective was to kill Osama bin Laden, which happened 7 years ago
>there are idiots genuinely mad Trump is pulling out

The Forever War will continue, just without the U.S. there.

bump

>le Russian boogeyman
>muh Putin, muh vatniks
>orange man bad

>our allies will lose faith in us
Maybe our "allies" can send in their troops to take over, if it's so important

The Middle East is the holy land and needs to be liberated

No thats the levant

This is peak boomerposting

I think you answered your own question.

The Ottoman Empire was the thing that kept Middle East at peace
The End of the ottoman Empire in the middle east was the same as the end of the Roman Empire for Europe
and also the US was involved in a war against the ottomans
the first Barbary war

it literally doesn't matter. we could stay there 100 years and the moment we pull out it'd turn to shit again. we aren't occupying a country with civilized people. were occupying a country where everyone is brainwashed from birth to believe they need to die for their religion. they have no education, they know nothing of the outside world. we'll never kill all the bad guys there because a new one is born every minute. its an unwinnable situation and im glad we finally have a president with the balls to call it quits (because once it goes to shit again the media is going to blame him for it).

we've been there nearly 20 fucking years... that is outrageous.

>We can't maintain economic and military hegemony without upholding our values
I am not a plutocratic beneficiary of the big brown hegemony and neither are you.

This.
We should just allow Turkey and Saudi Arabia to conquer and civilize the middle east while continuing to sell them small arms and missile systems.
Why the fuck are we doing the work if we're not going to fully colonize the place?

basically this

Yes because Saudi Arabia is a civilized country and isn't puhing Wahhabi fundamentalist Islam around the world. You know the ultraconservative kind that stood at the foundation of peace clubs like Al-Qaeda, Taliban, IS and many others.

guys, we can all agree Afghanistan's demise started with a Pashtun nationalist.
