My buddies and I have a tradition of hanging out, drinking, and smoking cigars on new years eve and reloading a single round each near midnight. Then on the 1st we go shooting and the first thing we do is send last year off with a bang symbolically by shooting the round we loaded. We've taken the precaution of pre-measuring the powder in a primed case so all that's left is to seat the bullet, plus nobody seem to want to get hammered anymore, so it's all safe. It's kinda cheesy, but it's been a fun tradition to get all the guys together for a fun night and then go shooting the next day.
