Same opinion as last week when this thread was posted.

>Folding stock
>Easier to manufacture
>Same 5.56 performance
>Outgunned the L1A1 in Northern Ireland

It's an improvement.

>Outgunned the L1A1 in Northern Ireland
Based on what? Id be interested in seeing data on just how prevalent it actually was with IRA as well as accounts of it winning engagements.

What we should have gotten instead of the AR-shitstain we got

In terms of recoil, the AR has an estimate of 3 ft/lbs. 7.62 NATO has 15-17 ft/lbs.

I was only saying that to explain combat effectiveness in general. In my opinion, better than a standard M4 because of more soldier-proof qualities.

So you're saying that 5.56 is 5x weaker.

AND ITS DOWN IN THE BOGSIDE IS WHERE I LONG TO BE

LYIN' IN THE DARK WIT A PROVO COMPANY

I wonder how difficult it would be to make a homemade one. Obviously you would need some specialised tooling for the finely machined parts but as I understand it's entirely stamped.

It's a decent rifle with a few flaws (lots of small easily lost parts, easily broken folding stock) that make it a less than ideal soldier's rifle but also a great jumping off design for some exceptional soldier's rifles like the Daewoo, Howa Type 89, and the TAIWAN NUMBA WAN T-91.

AND A CLIP OF AMMUNITION FOR ME LITTLE ARMALITE

It would be an interesting challenge, but you'd be better off basing it on one of the Canadian AR-180 clones, as they are compatible with a lot of AR15 parts and will save you some time in building it. They use milled receivers, too.

Attached: KODWK180CONLINE.jpg (999x749, 23K)

>milled receiver
part of the appeal of the 180 is the stamped receiver, at least for me anyway.

I can figure out how to replicate those milled receivers in a home workshop, but not so much with stamping.

Mediocre but cheap, brainlets on here will swear on their mothers grave that it is better than the ar-15 because they're brainlets and it looks cool

You could probably just cut up a piece of square tube rather than folding metal.

On the contrary. It's easier for a beginner or conscript to control on repeated fire and still has enough kinetic energy per round fired to cut through the target. Thereby increasing the chances of getting hits, compared to a battle rifle that will jump high and to the right within 3-4 rounds.

And in the hands of a professional soldier, a 5.56 rifle is equal to 2-5 adversaries with battle rifles, depending on their level of training. I mean, why was it that Special forces were so eager to buy an Armalite with their own money in pre-1965 Vietnam, instead of using their already issued M14s or WW2 surplus weapons?

Good for shooting bongs.

I have an AR-180 and it’s a great little rifle. The stock hinge doesn’t seem like it would hold up to a lot of abuse, though.

jannie at Jow Forums got hacked a couple nights ago and someone deleted every thread but the generals and spam threads instantly popped up again. point is- 4ch has automated threads.

Brings a smile.

4ch is thoroughly astroturfed.

The IRA are cucks. They were all “muh counties” but ignored the EU taking over everything and importing shitskins until Ireland is now majority black and elected a gay pajeet as their leader. What a bunch of impotent pussies.

What are you, poor?

It's m5 thread btw

AR-12 was direct-impingement, that might interest you.

Agreed, roller delayed blowback is superior.

In theory, a more budget friendly alternative to the AR-15.

Neat, shame they aren't more common.

>go to lowes
>at 3am
>drunk
That is going to end well.

I own one. I have some opinions on it.

Pros:
>Steel always inspires confidence
>best damn trigger I've ever had on a stock rifle
>tack driver, accurate to a fault
>a bit more recoil than the AR-15, makes it a little more fun to shoot
>BHO is stupid simple and makes reloads fun

Cons:
>has to use modified AR-15 mags
>parts are pretty much unobtanium at this point
>cannot change barrels, replace ejector, nothing. If it dies it's dead forever

Meh:
>folding stock is cool but feels kinda vulnerable to abuse
>bayonet lugs
>three-prong flash hider is cool af
>my rifle comes from an original Costa Mesa factory worker, the rifle has a non-functional 3rd position which is still cool but ultimately useless.
>AR-15 mags are easy to modify for this rifle
>PMAGs are almost purpose built for conversions because they have markings right where your cuts will go

All in all pretty cool rifle and definitely the crown jewel of my meager collection.

>roller delayed blowback
Avoid anything by century, PTR make sure to test it before you buy especially the new 5.56 rifles.

No dräger

airshit

I would buy one if I wasn't poor

How much did you get the M72 LAW tube for?

Stop being poor

At most the IRA had a few dozen models, they were well received but you also have to factor in much of the IRA's stock at that point was WW2 era stuff, when a light collapsable intermediary round semi-auto rifle with 30 round capacity came around it was like christmas to them

>cannot change barrels

That's not entirely true. There's one guy in the country that works on them, goes by the name of Pete Fleis. When I got mine my barrel was a sewer pipe, and I got in touch with him and he replaced my barrel for me.

Good to know.

So, the real question is which is easier to make at home?

Because nobody with a job is going to go out and buy one of these third world, stamped parts, pieces of crap.

Attached: Hair Brain.jpg (1247x1006, 383K)

That would depend on your tooling, and skill, with the right tools you can make anything. Stamped requires more initial cost to setup but is cheaper and easier if you make a large volume.

Too expensive. I want one.

Where is this one, I have monies burning a hole in my pocket

pretty sure they sell online if you ask

Vielen dank kammerade

out of curiosity, what are the first three numbers of your serial, if you dont mind sharing?
i ask because its hypothesized that only the late model costa mesa had the "third position".

except for the plastic trunion which gets squishy from sustained fire. other than that, sure, great rifle.

I see you have never handled one.
