The Z rail saved this build, I tried a bunch and nothing looked or fit right.

How long is your barrel? Mine is currently wearing a 4.5" barrel with a Fortis brake. Replaced the barrel in pic related, a 5.5" with a thread protector so I could shoot suppressed.

I'm kind of thinking about putting a 7.5" barrel with a front sight post onto an A2 upper, and cutting some round carbine handguards to fit. Loosely attach an A1 flash hider, so I can easily take it off to shoot suppressed.
How do you think that would look?

Counter-sniping when your primary weapon is a red dot equipped carbine. Barrel length and accuracy are not actually correlated, though velocity, of course, is. In an urban environment that velocity is not as important as having an accurate rifle that is a good optics platform.

On your lower, that would be cool.

Mine has a 4.5" BA barrel, threads are about 0.25" past the z rail so it's perfect for the suppressor mount. gtg with a thread protector. Muzzle to collapsed stock is exactly 18", getting back to the thread theme.

Noice. I had to install my Fortis brake with the handguard off because I couldn't get the wrench on it. Mine is about 21" from the brake to the collapsed stock, but it was 19" before I put the brake on.

Just for keks, here is the A2 upper with the 5.5" barrel. RRA makes a 7.5" with a front sight post that I'm gonna get if I can sell some shit I've got for sale.

There is some people that think the police should use the thread "small weapons", because of lower penetration, less risks to innocents on those favelas and so on. The way i see it, its a war, criminals use weapons that range from old AK-47s to SCAR rifles. sending people there with worse equipment to fight an uphill battle seems to me a bad idea.

The Military and the Police had some operations on this decade that expelled criminals from Favelas, Two problems that surfaced are that, they couldnt kill criminals running away, So they let them run. and no operation was made to arrest those criminals. so eventually things went back to normal. So Tactically speaking we can strangle crime and take those favelas from them pretty easily, its most a question of being allowed to do so. 5.56 is pointless from a 4 inch barrel (if it can be made to work reliably), and 9mm is pointless from anything over a 5" barrel. So there's a gap there right? In other words, you wouldn't want a rifle length 9mm and you wouldn't want a pistol length 5.56, so each of them have a place.

I think 9mm actually stops gaining velocity from 10"+. 5.56 is still at least on par with 9mm at 5+".

Actually 5.56 is far worse than 9mm out of pistol length barrels. It drops to sub 1500 fps.

At pistol length. Just past that, it's putting out 500+ ft/lbs which is garbage for 5.56, but spectacular for pistol calibers. At 8 inches, it's outshining anything short of .44 mag.

It is a PTR and it's very nice. Almost no recoil and no issues with it other than a single ammo related malfunction in about 3k rounds.
