user with glasses here
Is there a way I can use my own glasses in basic training and avoid those awful looking Birth Control Glasses?

Attached: fullmetaljacket3.jpg (600x337, 158K)

Not going to happen

Yes you can use your own clothes too to avoid those stupid looking uniforms!

can I join the military if I hold communist views? I don't see any rule that says you need to be a c*pitalist to serve.

Attached: 1545526167317.jpg (968x681, 103K)

I have pretty bad motor tics. Could I be medically discharged if I join with this? I know I can hide it past MEPS but it's basic and beyond I'd be worried about. Or would people just think I'm a tweaker and I'd get shit for it?

does anyone know if Sere specialist is a good job to look into. Originally wanted to go army but air force seems more cushy and overall just a better branch

>no anti American extremists
Communism by nature is anti American

They just look like a bitch to wear and I want to know if there’s any civilian pairs that go within the military standards

Question for any anons in the know. I'm looking into going in the Army as a 37A Psyops officer. Does anyone know if the officer MOS requires language training? Also does it require a secret or top secret clearance? I already have a secret clearance from my current job so that shouldn't be an issue.

Attached: 1544238934315.jpg (824x1024, 98K)

I think Berkeley would be a better fit for you. But why don't you go off yourself instead you worthless uneducated piece of shit?

supressing somone for their political views is anti American

Once you get to your unit most units will allow contact lenses

You have to understand that we nearly destroyed the entire world with a communist country

Once you're out of basic you can wear your own glasses. At AIT I was allowed my old civilian glasses as long as they're shatter resistant

It’s a cool job.

The training pipeline is difficult and has a high washout rate.

Do TACP instead if you want to do combat-related things.

yes and communism does that the most.

>uneducated piece of shit?

I have a bachelor's degree in philosophy. I want to join the military to serve my country even though I hate the fascist rulers that lead it, I come from a long line of military men and women.

>Suppressing someone for their political views
Calling communism out as bullshit isn't suppressing views. Also the only way communist countries survive is through censorship and suppressing people with different political views

whats the redpill on infantry. i have my heart set on infantry but i know it will likely suck are there any other mos that might be appealing if you want to play with guns and larp about operating

Attached: xY2xDxo.jpg (811x1082, 180K)

>Philosophy
>Is a communist
Figures. If they let McCarthy do his thing universities wouldn't be brainwashing people like they do today

If you want to serve the nation while opposing it's "fascist" leadership I think Antifa might be more your speed. There's nothing wrong with opposing tyranny and joining the military will just make you a pawn for the government you despise

Don't confuse the "national interest" aka the interest of a nation's current rulers with what's good for the people.

You will experience cognitive dissonance and saltiness when you realize what's going on. The sane thing to do is go in knowing it's about keeping you and your local team alive, without any higher cause.

Ultimate goys. Literally known as grunts and they pride themselves on being the dumbest most expendable members of our military. You get treated like retards by your commanding officers and treated like shit by your sadistic NCOs. Coupled with the fact that there are no major combat operations going on, and the ones after WW2 have all essentially pointless. So you'd probably die for nothing if you did get deployed.

Can someone explain some benefits of commissioning over enlisting?

Double the base pay, which means double the retirement pay and (after accounting for BAS etc) about 50% higher wages.

I can't say officers are smarter, or that being smart will help you as an officer, but there will be fewer complete idiots.

>You automatically outrank most of the people in your branch
>coming in as a fresh new officer, you are getting paid just as much as that enlisted guy with 16 years in service
>more respect handed to you with half the time in service compared to most of the senior enlisted
>you'll learn more marketable skills that civilian employers value, also looks better on a resume that you were an officer vs an enlisted
>your peers are generally less retarded and more mature than the dudebros and wanna be GI joes in the enlisted corps

Officers also have hotter wives, you'll likely be pulling hot ass compared to the land whales enlisted fuck

It's peacetime. Infantry is the best job in COIN, one of the best in near-peer, and the absolute worst in peace.

It's not worth doing unless you go SOCOM, which, let's be honest, if you are "just asking about things" you have no place there.

>bachelors in philosophy
buddy, youre less educated than a manager of jiffy lube

Not but u can in the fleet. Also in basic, turn glasses upside down to see thru acog

>Be me
>go to field to execute sweet patrolling skills week, gonna end that shit with a live fire range.
>CO tells me that the division overspent the ammo allocation, no blanks, no live fire.
>still have to occupy the range at the end of the week.

Taught field skills and comm classes, but reduced training to grown ass men going “Budda budda jam” for a week in full kit.

The infantry is pure larping these days.

>16 years
Try 5 at best
Still a solid starting place and it scales quicker

Wtf I'm a marine who wore glasses and this is some retarded bullshit that I've never seen anyone do or be told to do. If your eyes are different prescriptions which is likely then this can truly do no good for range Qual.

As a leaf, what"s my best option to get paid to kill?

Obviously baiting, (((Big Brother))), calm your tits. Everyone knows a military is in fact a pacifistic organization that exists to facilitate the import of muds and (((protect))) the populace.

leave it to a crayon eater to spoil the joke

Who says that? It's not funny to make someone look like an idiot and possibly hurt them on something that affects their promotion.
An actual funny joke is better and builds camaraderie

I'm an ex-Navy E5 considering trying to get an Army commission after I finish college because one my bros in the Army thinks I'd be good for it. I hadn't thought much about it before, but after talking to my buddy the last couple days, I'm kinda curious about being a helicopter pilot.

What can you Jow Forumsommandos tell me about it? Good or bad, I'd like to hear any info you can give me.

Anyone have experience with this or should I not be worried?

How does MEPS/the military look into your medical records? Like, if I were diagnosed with depression or something, how do they know which doctor to contact to find out about that? Or can they at all? Is depression even a dealbreaker anymore?

They don't without you telling them and even then they tell you to go get the documents they'd need. Hence shut up and it didn't happen

I figured. Thanks.

I bought a Nintendo Switch and a controller during the holiday period. Will they accept an opened controller for returns? I called and they said they would accept the Switch. Also have until the end of January to return it.

Ooops I meant to include that it's from the Exchange/AAFES

11B with a few deployments under his belt here.

If you want to join for combat, you are shit out of luck right now. Be a fucking POG anons, the day of the grunt is kill.

It has already been signed and is taking effect.

Lol why don't you just bring it to them with receipt and try? I doubt they would unless it's broken but even then skeptical.
don't ask this stuff when you can just go try and see. Now since you asked let us know

but i dont know what pog jobs id be good at

Guess I'll hope for the best then

>Does anyone know if the officer MOS requires language training?
Only Active requires training, if you're a Reserve Officer then no

First for being a god damn crew chief fucking blows.
I wish I went for security forces

Any 15Q or other air traffic controllers here?

Attached: 3701538_orig.jpg (952x485, 190K)

Is combat medic shit too?

>I wish I went for security forces
why

Attached: AFDAGRE.jpg (1000x569, 642K)

Trust me, it ain't going to happen

Crew Chief (F-15s):
>Dirty
>Uncomfortable
>Surrounded by people who only make dick and butt jokes.
>treated like a third rate human being among other third rate human beings
>long hours
>blamed for everything and anything first and foremost
>everybody thinks you're mentally retarded
>everyone in your field makes you look bad because they're always doing stupid shit
>competing for positions with people that have shorter hours and thus more time on their hands to fill out their EPRs

At least as SecFo I'm likely not dying slowly of cancer or drinking straight hydraulic fluid.
Plus, guns.

user, no matter how low-status you think you are, it can always get worse. Don't do it.

I mean, yeah, no shit, I could be a janitor.
I don't plan on quitting now, I might as well ride it out. But fuck me for not doing my research first and instead choosing this terrible career field. I'd much rather be at a desk hating life or standing at a gate bored as shit hating life than dirty, stinky, mentally numb, and pissed off, hating life.

>canandians
>killing anybody in 2018/9

hitman for organized crime

Does anyone know if drug possession charges will be disqualifying if the charges ended up being dropped?

they let drug dealers in
you'll be fine

You literally described secfo in your post. At least your certs are actually meaningful in civi world.

t. Security Forces

Too bad there's no slots left.

Is it true that if you are denied commission on moral grounds but can still enlist you can commission later if you demonstrate good character while serving?

Don't forget the glorious bonus pays based upon position, pilots obviously get a shitload more for their flights and per diem.

Just don’t, kids.

There's no way you're constantly covered in hydraulic fluid and breathing pure exhaust fumes.

no its not faggot, the country wasnt founded on holding hands with the British, they were fought and killed because fuck monarchism

can i be an army ranger when im a green card holder? and when i sign up in the army do i get instant USA citizenship? need professional and mature replies pls.

Makes quality of life less shitty if you are dumb enough to consider the military as a lifelong career.

There was an O-3 on Ft Hood some years back who was active in MS-13

I don't want to be surrounded by pic related for longer than I need.

And I sure as fuck don't want them in charge of myself and anything I need taken care of.

Attached: enlisted - low iq blacks.png (800x476, 710K)

Prior enlisted?

I don't think so, you can't hold the required security clearance

imagine being triggered

sounds like you want the coast guard

Is there a way for me to be a marine while staying within the borders of the US? (this question also applies with all branches)
Basically I only want to fight within my own country's borders (unless shit's so bad we need a draft)

Attached: marine pepe.jpg (1200x600, 143K)

Marine Reserves

You're not going to be fighting anyway. The US military doesn't fight within its own borders though that's the whole point

So I never made friends in high school or college. I hear all of these stories about guys in the military making lifelong friends, and I'm a pretty lonely dude. Would joining to make friends be a terrible idea?

State Defense Force

Coast Guard Reserves.

What this guy said, why fight here when you can fight there?

Become an officer.

Enlisted are and always have been the dregs. Even if you manage to avoid blacks, you'll have to deal with hispanics and other minorities, and once you've gotten away from them, you're still surrounded by poors.

That's about the time you realize that you walked into a mechanism that periodically clears large clumps of undesirables out of society.

Why?

>Become an officer.
That's what I was thinking but I think they have to "fight" too (just not in as much shit as enlisted men)
I just want to stay within the borders of the US unless shit hits the fan and we need people overseas

Any SOF job, being a pilot, normal infantryman, anything that involves swimming (navy diver, Rescue swimmer, PJ, SEAL).

I took my ASVAB and MEPS was pretty weird.
>Security forces guy tells me I'm pretty far from the place and points me in the right direction
>After driving around for a while I found it just across the street from where I asked him
>Front desk lady told me wrong door to knock on (she was really nice tho), encountered a grumpy Sailor instead of a testing room
>Paperwork guy spent a few minutes talking to his coworker about Christmas shopping while I was standing right in front of him waiting to turn in my papers
>Airman asks to see my ASVAB ticket, seems to get annoyed when I present him with the correct one
>I have never heard anyone say "Good luck" as angrily as he did
>Front desk lady says I'm free to go
>Come back a few minutes later because I forgot something
>Paperwork guy tells me he was just about to call military police on me because I left with my nametag still on
>Front desk lady says I was supposed to check out with her before leaving
>Bruh
I heard MEPS was supposed to be hope crushing, not mind breaking. Is this normal?

Then why join the military? Don't join the marines period as there's a chance you could go on a meu aka ride a boat for a bit.
There's no way to guarantee that wouldn't happen.
join the army as cyber or a useless linguist.

Why did you drive yourself to meps?

I have a CAC and my recruiter told me it would be more convenient that way (I live closer to the base than to his recruiting station). Made me curious on how he handled transportation for the other guys though. Does someone from MEPS pick them up in a bus or something?

same guy here, what should i do now?

Attached: 1543823953727.jpg (1000x800, 68K)

Why do you have a cac. Wat
They typically get taken to a hotel and get in a meps shuttle to spend the day at meps then all get picked up by their recruiters

>Is this normal

Yes, you're simply reasonable and.or weak-willed and perceive bad bureaucracy as mind-breakingly bad bureaucracy. Don't worry, you'll learn to accept it!
