I ran into an issue with my stream light pressure pad not activiating occasionally when cold. Hard to say what caused it but I switched to Surefire. Could just be a weakness of the pressure pad. Mine had a good beam and they have been shown to be tough.

I used to advocate having some gap between the rail, but on a short gun if you're going to be running things like lights, lasers, grips, back up irons, and pressure pads the more rail the better.
