If it's on his hip, it is likely to be a big iron.

Didn't marty robins get the idea from the song when he was in a gun store and he saw an SAA with a massive barrel?

Minimum barrel length of over 6 inches (preferably 8-10)

Minimum caliber of .357 (preferably .45-50)

See: 45-70 bfr, colt walker revolvers, smith and Wesson x frames, ruger super blackhawks

>The Ranger's "Big Iron" actually existed. It was a one-off custom handgun chambered in .45 Colt and featured a Great Western copy of the Colt Single Action Army frame, Colt 1860 Army backstrap, grip frame and grips, and a cut down 9 1/2" Marlin rifle barrel. Marty Robbins saw it in Andy Anderson's famed North Hollywood gun shop in the late 1950s and wrote the song around it. Its current whereabouts are unknown.[5]

god I wish that was me

Damn good album, shame Mr.Shorty is not on it or the ballad of the Alamo. Regardless a great album and doubly so when tending to your own firearms.

>is iron
>is big
>has big bullets too, rip and tear
The quintessential Big Iron is a Dragoon, a .44 black powder ball revolver. This predates even the .45 Colt by over 20 years and the .38 Special by over 40 years. If it's a big ass revolver it qualifies. ".357 minimum" is an arbitrary definition.

A navy colt isn’t, a walker colt is. Any buffalo model is.

Y’know, call me what you will, but I prefer the Remington cap and ball guns to the Colts.

Big Iron refers to a number of similar revolvers though

Can big iron meet cyberpunk?
Can a BRADE RUNNA carry an appropriate big iron that straddles both lines.

I guess it's just the killing of another sacred cow, it's our specialty after all

Am I supposed to kek here?

I still remember the series of torture tests by IV8888. Even though the guns may not be that great in some areas, they are tough as hell.

Bump

>Its current whereabouts are unknown.[5]

>Hopeful fate
The gun is languishing in some 90 year old fudd's collection; waiting to be discovered by someone who recognizes it for what it is.

>Realistic fate
The original owner probably died and the gun was turned in at a police buyback by clueless Liberal family members.

>Epic fate
The gun ended up as part of the Jow Forumsube.
