You really shouldn't do that often, the wedge will get beaten to shit in short order. It also isn't that accurate. 50gr. is okay, but my experience and others shows the spread to be notable. 40gr. is the perfect load, groups stay tight and it's usually not enough to make the infamous charging lever flop come around and it's still a good deal more powerful than other contemporary BP revolvers from that era.

This year I said fuck it and picked up a police trade in Glock 17 for a good price, wrapped it up, and stuffed it under his tree. Last night when he opened it there was an audible gasp from his wife and my parents. He and I were just laughing. The kids thought it was great as well. By the end of the night my sister in law and my father were both really curious about it, held it a bunch, and let me give them some instruction on it. We’re all going shooting on Friday.

Rotate the cylinder so the spot between chambers under the loading lever, then use the lever itself to push off the barrel. You just push it down as if you were loading the gun. Then, take a fine file and have a go at widening that cylinder gap. The tolerances are waaaaay too tight on the new walkers, and it ends up jamming your gun after 3 shots if you don't widen it.
