NYT asks credit card companies to flag gun sales

archive.is/CZMtl
>TL;DR - some mass shooters bought guns on credit, therefore the cc companies need to flag gun purchases.
How many levels of corporate surveillance are you on, famalam?

It's treason then.

Literally why? I can't think of any circumstance where a gun purchased with a CC wouldn't be subject to NICS.

>Literally why?
As a prelude to simply refusing to process any firearms-related purchase.

Because buying a gun obviously means you intend to do something bad. /s

>need to flag gun purchases
If you have children and buy large quantities of alcohol you should be flagged
If you buy weed you should be flagged
If you have kids and don't spend money on doctors appointments, dental care, clothes, etc you should be flagged and have your name and address put on a public list
See how this works? If you start deciding who can buy what you become an arbiter, and that means you take the blame for the things you get wrong. I want to see the CEO of Bank of America hauled out of his fancy tower after a teenage girl dies of sepsis or something due to not having medical care. Not because he did anything, but because his company didn't call CPS.

Do you still not get it? They are going to throw up every kind of roadblock imaginable until the can outright ban firearms to harass gun owners and discourage people from buying guns.

>my lgs encourages cash purchases by offering 10% discount
>or its just charging an addt'l 10% for plastic, depending on your point of view

This.

The problem is that I don't think I can just mail a wad of cash in an envelope to Target Sports USA or other places where I buy ammo online.

I normally do, but I also buy stuff online sometimes :/

Even r/politics is shitting all over this article. All they're doing is further alienating themselves from anyone who doesn't live and work in Manhattan.

Seeing so many people cry to corporations to take their rights away has blackpilled the shit out of me. IDK how to prevent something like this.

It comes with living in a big city; you lose any sense of self-worth and desire to care for yourself. In your mind, all those big names you see on the innumerable advertisers are your parents, your guardians. They are who must takes care of you.

Do not live in a big city. Ever.

> How banks finance mass shootings
> Many of the killers built their stockpiles of high-powered weapons with the convenience of credit
This just in. due to debit/credit cards being so ubiquitous, we're also blaming credit card companies for obesity, paying outrageous health care bills, and funding Republican election campaigns. Not only that, but because the treasury still issues dangerous anonymous, untrackable money, we're holding them personally responsible for the drug trade, child sex trafficing, and all forms of organized crime.

And because this argument is so stupid, I'm forced to link a blood sucking banker as a voice of reason.
> "We do not believe Visa should be in the position of setting restrictions on the sale of lawful goods or services,” said Amanda Pires, a Visa spokeswoman. “Our role in commerce is to efficiently process, protect and settle all legal payments. Asking Visa or other payment networks to arbitrate what legal goods can be purchased sets a dangerous precedent.”

It's not a company's fault people are shitty parents.

COHENCIDENCE

We have fundamentally different values than they do. youtube.com/watch?v=x3ZiLcIItsY
I pity their weak and servile nature.

What kind of an idiot buys weapons with a credit card anyway?

>Start flagging all firearms purchases
>everyone just starts buying funs with cash
>becomes even more impossible to track firearms purchases

Quite a few places will take money orders.

I use my card to buy all kinds of things that I already have the cash for. Turn around and pay the card down as soon as it posts so theres no interest paid and then I've gained a bunch of free points to use for whatever tickles my fancy on their store.

I wonder how many people have been triggered by that collection of stickers

>want to build credit
>guns are considerably large purchases for young folks
>gonna buy myself a new rifle might as well use my card and pay it off before interest
>don't have to feel like I am killing my paycheck

But yeah this is some gay cunt shit. My bank shouldn't be concerned with my purchases if they're legal.

MERELY A (((COINCIDENCE))), GOY!

Every fucking time, damn it.

Based Visa

Makes sense, they know if they restrict purchases, people will just move their money elsewhere and thell end up losing profit.

>capitalism working as intended

I believe that living in big cities causes people to go insane.

Attached: kike.png (1920x1080, 402K)

Its oversocialization, just like Uncle Ted wrote about. Humans are social and empathetic creatures, but there's a limit. No human can empathize with hundreds of thousands of people they will never know, it overloads your brain and drives you crazy. Packing people like sardines in cities surrounded by a million people is unnatural.

>It's treason then.
It's not telling your country this shit isn't okay.
Do your part or don't whine when the louder minorities ruin your rights.

Why did you stop us again 70 years ago, Luftgangster?

>tfw you realize more and more the US fought on the wrong side of the war

i'vr bought all my guns on credit card because its just easier than going to the bank and getting cash.

This is what you get for letting unfettered capitalism run amok instead of proactively splitting up monopolies and thoroughly regulating industries.

I'm honestly surprised they didn't do it sooner.
I imagine that a lot of suicides are done on credit, since there's no consequences or bills to pay if you're dead and you don't need to actually have the cash up front.

Buy a shovel, and use it

>It's not a company's fault people are shitty parents.

It's their fault that they chose to develop that knowledge, and then refused to act on on it. There's liability in that.

There's a reason why people would rather not know.

This

>Operation Choke Point was a 2013 initiative of the United States Department of Justice,[1] which would investigate banks in the United States and the business they do with firearm dealers, payday lenders, and other companies believed to be at higher risk for fraud and money laundering.

It would be funnier if people didnt actually believe those things and want to force people to change and use corps and govt to do that for them.

No. They had a lot of progroms in that time.

Also they are only banned in public schools. I think guns are also banned in schools.

There were until they proved to be too naturally treacherous and dishonest even for the communists, who had to remove them from any positions of power or influence.

What if black market arms dealers take Visa?

>he doesn't buy ammo in bulk online
>he never wants or needs any accessories that aren't found in gun stores or gun shows
>he doesn't want to avoid markup
>he thinks buying gun accessories online will flag his file at the ATF

I support this. We need to be doing everything we can to prevent mass shootings.

Attached: armed goyim 2.jpg (1113x1000, 169K)

This guy gets it. Not all gun banners are retarded. They don't care about the facts they just want weapons banned and will do it in any way they can

Attached: Capture.png (123x243, 36K)

There are actually plenty of ways. They probably would also take a check but it's be slower obviously

I think we need to do more to prevent mass drivings. Vehicular homicide is responsible for nearly 40k deaths a year, and none of them are suicides.

We need to flag every car purchased on the users credit, we need NICS background checks for car purchases, we need to prevent felons, the disabled, and the insane from owning and using cars. We need to do away with state drivers license reciprocity, since some states have less stringent laws, let each state decide for themselves whether or not to let people with less stringent licenses pass through.

We need to make it as hard to kill with a car is it is to kill with a gun.

>Buys guns with cash and leave no trace of evidence.

Can't buy weed with a credit card, as far as I know. Its still federally illegal, I dont know of banks or carda that wanna touch it. I could be wrong, and id like to see some sources otherwise.

Withe the recent legalization of industrial Hemp, it is worth pointing out that there is no genetic difference between industrial hemp and cannabis. The only legal difference is the presence of delta-9 THC above three-ish percent. There are already people selling marijuana products online just saying "we don't make any claims about the presence of psychoactive compounds", and they do take major credit cards.

Still can't. No weed shop will touch anything credit related till the fed goes whole hog. No one wants to risk DOJ snatching that cash

You need a car to get to places user. Only reason you need a gun in places is to kill people. I can’t believe you don’t see how stupid your argument is,

imagine believing this

Imagine thinking you need to carry a gun

imagine falling for bait

>Still can't
I'm telling you that there are already places doing it, You can believe what you want though.

This is actually an incredible point. Every single illegal or questionable gun purchase is with cash. Literally anything paid for with a card would have an FFL hence 4473 attached to it. Literally the "safest" way to transfer firearms.

>You need a car to get to places
>what are legs
>what are bikes
>what is mass transit
You don't need a car user, your cities garbage tier mas transit will get you wherever you need to go in about a half a day, smelling like urine.

Why though? In a city, you can walk or use mass transit, and in the country you can ride a horse or bike. You don't NEED a car user, plus it adds to pollution. Won't you think of the children and ban personal ownership of cars? Or do you not car about the future?

you can use a bike or public transportation? no one actually needs anything besides a home to live in and food and water.

imagine being so naive as to trust your fellow man or god forbid, your local police.

>buying guns with anything other than cash
It's like you want the government to know you have guns.

Name one, trust me they ain't

>You don't NEED a car user, plus it adds to pollution. Won't you think of the children and ban personal ownership of cars? Or do you not car about the future?
This but unironically

>A little more than a month before James E. Holmes killed 12 people and injured 70 others at a Century 16 movie theater in Aurora, Colo., in 2012... Mr. Holmes... used a new Mastercard issued by USAA to help buy more than $11,000 in weapons and military gear. He bought two tear-gas grenades, a gas mask and filter, a .40-caliber Glock handgun, a 12-gauge shotgun, a .223-caliber AR-15, a 100-round drum magazine, two 40-round magazines, a laser sight, a bulletproof vest, 5,000 rounds of ammunition, two sets of handcuffs and “road stars” meant to slice through car tires.

>“This was a civilian making these orders, not the police and not the military,” said Sandy Phillips, whose daughter, Jessica, died in the attack. “Someone should have noticed.”

Sounds like some perfectly normal purchases, to me.

they add to pollution but alone they are less impactful than campfires

ban all cars except 1/2 seat sportscars and watch global warming solve itself. there would be less than a thousand people on the road in each US state.

People got places in 1890 without cars. Civilization still existed then - in fact, there's a good case to be made that things were much more civilized in those days. We could get by without them.

Or how about this? As many young people are killed every two days in texting and driving accidents in this country as were killed in Parkland. So why not ban cell phones to save lives? Don't bother trying to tell me that we couldn't get by without them. I'm 45 years old.I didn't own a cell phone until I was 27, and I didn't own a smartphone until I was 36. I got by fine. A few things are more convenient now, but nothing that I - or you - couldn't live without.

This is a case of "the cops are retarded"

>buy fuel filter and thread adapter on amazon
>*knock knock*
>buy small arsenal
>hey bill...
>not now i'm looking through child porn to make sure it's all there and still as illegal as it was when we got it

What's your plan when tactics inevitably shift to mass stabbings and trucks of peace?

>only reason you need a gun is to kill people
>what are shooting sports
>what is hunting
Should we also ban swords and knives?

Who the fuck even buys a gun with a credit card?

It's an easy way for a young person to build up credit.

That gif makes me so hard

>I get 2.5% back on all purchases
What kind of Fudd still pays cash?

Lots of people use credit cards like debit cards that delay withdrawing funds for a month. It's a somewhat more risky strategy as you're prone to start living on credit if times get tough, but it's not foolish to do if you're responsible.
