What are the most great and powerful rifle rounds?

300winmag is pretty okay

This really comes down to where you draw the line of something being a rifle round or it being artillery...

Would you consider 6.5 Creedmoor to be an alternative to .300 WinMag?

I have read that you can reach similar ballistics and .300 WinMag is pretty expensive.

.300 blackout is probably what you want. Sounds cool and gets hyped up but really isn’t as good as it thinks it is.

>.223 0-400y
>6.5 Meemoor 200-1000+y
>.300 WinMag 200-1000+y dangerous game/big barriers

All are probably the best for most people in most situations.

.357 mag

7.62x51 real fuckin NATO

outdated, grandpa

Not a rifle round, no matter how much you try to defend it.

Raufoss rounds and barrets are like crackers and peanut butter

HH op

still better than your shitty 30-30.

lol no. .22 is the most deadly round.

30-06

For punching paper, 6.5 Creedmoor is a bit better than .300 Win Mag, because the reduction in recoil and acoustic blast means you can eecover between shots muc faster.

For killing large game, no question that the .300 Win Mag dominates.

577/450 master race here.

Yep, it will bounce all over the battlefield and turn everyone to mush.

Why are the popular belted magnums so powder inefficient?

Literally more deadly than a nuke but no radiation so you can just lob a couple of these into a city and take it over, infrastructure and all.

IT could destroy a entire city in under a minute!
Also, that thing looks fucking amazing,

6.5 can not hit something like a .300 WM. Not in any way. I don’t know why people think that hornady was able to defy Newtonian physics by making a heavy for weight 6.5 mm cartridge in a short action cartridge.

.308 is the most practical North American right, it can take most any game

Just go ahead and get a .300 win mag to make sure

round*

There are so many types of fucking rifle rounds and I want to pick just a couple so I can stockpile ammo easier. I have an AR-15 (.223), an AR-10 (.308) and my Gramp's old elk gun (7mm Rem Mag). For the time being, those three rounds should cover me when it comes to varmint, deer, and larger game. But in the future what is a good caliber to get?

.338 win mag .50 bmg

Have you heard of the most great and powerful OZ? I'm sure you could ask for a wonderful rifle round there if you don't have one!

I'd get something in 7.62x39 to round things out.
