Project Ideas

I have a class on CNC manufacturing and am looking at project ideas.
We are explicitly forbidden from building guns/NFA items.
We have access to aluminum, brass, leather, and wood.
Ya'll have any good ideas for a project?

A barrel?

Not sure I trust our capability to make a barrel with the CNC equipment.
I know people have with 3d printers, but the ones we have are smaller than my crappy ender3

Make an ambidextrous upper receiver. Then sperg out on the teacher because its not a gun.

>We are explicitly forbidden from building guns
What about firearm components; firing pins, hammers, gas pistons and the like?

Aeolipile or Segner Wheel
>God mode:
Antikythera mechanism Replica

I already sperg enough.
Upper gives me an idea, though...
Bullet thrower/yeeter
If we build an upper/BCG to hit the bullet out of the front without discharging it...

kek I got my hands on one of those backpacks last year

This. make iron sites, mag catches, mussle breaks, grips. Just tell them it is for airsoft

>Antikythera mechanism Replica
Honestly, that seems pretty good
I'll run it by my team
thanks Jow Forums

Weapon related? Trigger assembly all milled out.
Non weapon related? Oval drawing machine using linkages and sliding tracks

how about you just focus on a project that will test your ability to use the machines, so that you have the skills to pursue your own interests later. You have plenty of time and don't want to fuck around and have someone REEEEEE at you for doing something firearm related.

Make a giant aluminum knotty dog dick

Make non-firearm stuff for M1 Garands.
>Large community
>Well known rifle
>well known specs for different parts
>not much of it currently being made

Replacement Op rods, trigger mechanisms, stocks, and slings would be bretty neat. Dont worry about Gas plugs, we already have several makers for that.

But seriously, airguns seem to be okay? Make a bandolier full of single-shot .45- or .50-caliber one-shot pistols with ballistics in the .380 range.

you could probably do all kinds of weird tools, I'm sure there's shit that the surplus has dried up for that people want

I was going to suggest a BCG. If you do the work thoroughly you youll get a good grade

>brass
How about casings then?

no threads up right now, so I guess I'll ask here. Does manufacturer matter for an 80% lower, or will any chunk of mostly milled aluminum work?

He willingly put that in a clear backpack though

Aspergers Spotted

a few ideas:
testbed muzzleloader cannon
puckle gun (optionally electric/ caplock ignition system)
improved puckle gun (crank driven reloading mechanism, belt/gravity fed system for continiuosly delivering new "chambers"
airguns (2000 rpm hopper-fed blowdart sprayer)
flamethrowers
electrically driven full auto crossbows (look up joergsprave's video on youtube)
tooling for ramming your own pyrotechnic solid fuel rockets (boltshells)
casting molds (for cast lead apdsfs)
nylon sabots
the possibilities are endless
