What's going to kill the Chinese military is maintenance and longevity. I've worked as an expat in China in the manufacturing sector. Chinese mechanical, structural and electrical standards in every sector, including government and military, is so lax it never ceased amazing me. Naval and Air fleets require an enormous amount of maintenance. I would bet the farm that Chinese air frames on the newer gen aircraft will have one quarter of the service life of a comparable air frame from the US, Russia or most of Europe.

looks like it basically does a cobra (or whatever its called when its moving 'backwards' for a moment) at 2:32 then accelerates instantly into the vertical. im sure when its cleared for 9g itd be able to do a real cobra, but that manuever looks a lot more practical as it is still able to hold onto energy. pilots say the power increase compared to the f-16 is immense.

Difference in doctrines. US always liked air superiority via air dominance. Soviets liked their ground troops more. Even planes like Su-35S or Su-57 would not likely patrol an airspace not covered by SAM unless its not so hot like in Syria. In a conventional war, the Su-34 would have more air to ground roles than patrolling the skies like the F-22.
