Basically if you're a coach or a teacher or a drill sergeant, what you do on the first day is designate a token "stooge". This causes your people to focus all the animosity that they should be feeling toward you onto him. This is evidenced by the blanket party scene. Pyle unintentionally ends up making his entire unit more cohesive by having one major thing in common; they're all fucking pissed off at him because they view it as HIS fault that they have to endure more sadistic punishment.
Stooging is a very evil thing to do, kind of known as the "dark side" of education, and while it tends to yield results, it is morally despicable and could easily end up in your stooge snapping one day and going batshit insane from all the torture.

Recoveries are weird. You can get back to being healthy very quickly or not at all. I knew a combat engineer who was blown up three times and still was able to recover back to full health.
Fuck those kids. The kids would be given free shit like candy and they would STILL throw rocks at us, mounted or not. They even managed to fuck up those IED jamming systems on the front of the Humvee by throwing rocks at them.
