>‘Carried 35kg for hours & barely tired’ >Russian media has released fresh photos of an advanced military exoskeleton, designed to help soldiers carry heavy mortars and fire 700 machine gun rounds without reloading. The devices have already been used in Syria. >The images of the device were published earlier this week by RIA Novosti news agency. The equipment is designed for army engineers and sappers but may be used by other troops as well.
>The exoskeleton helps soldiers to carry heavy objects as it protects their joints and spine, effectively absorbing most of the weight, the designers say.
>Made out of light metals and carbon fiber, the exoskeleton itself weighs about 7kg. It enables a wearer to carry up to 70kg (155 lbs) on a special platform attached to their shoulders. The company notes that it will allow a person to transport heavy weapons, like automatic grenade launchers or mortars with 12 shells.
>A modification for special ops is equipped with a backpack and a loading device which can allow a machine gunner to fire 700 rounds without reloading.
>One “can bend over, turn around, walk fast and even run” in it, he told the media.
>“It gets adjusted to the height once, and doesn’t require [any more] maintenance and tweaking… It’s fool-proof.”
So, are they a a meme or is this the future of infantry? This thing is combat-ready and it sounds awesome and they are gonna mass produce them.
This thing is an unpowered passive exoskeleton. Basically, the weight will directed into the ground, while the wearer wont feel any outside the exoskeleton itself.
Problem is, when moving and running, it will still tire out the soldier.
I can imagine that this is good for stationary use.

Neverserved detected. That's a big deal, especially for airborne infantry or frontline support crew like combat engineers.
David Foster
if it's not powered why even care? To do what? Lessen the strain of carrying shit?
Anthony Jackson
>omg it's not like a video game >who cares if it distributes weight directly onto the ground instead of onto the spine and legs who cares about that lol
Leo Green
Looks to be passive exoskeltal. For some reason those have been dismissed for long time even though they were obvious first step in strengthening carry capacity before lower consumption machines and high capacity batteries.
Benjamin Jackson
Everybody is working on stuff like this. Russians don't have the $ to mass field it.
Duct tape + Cardboard + Lego technic parts + Green spray paint does not count as power armor, user
Thomas Johnson
I'm Russian, I can confirm that everything you're being told is propaganda. Russia will never field these because they probably only have the money to make 1/3rd of it
Michael Sanchez
yes, but they rarely walk for 9 minutes
Michael Gomez
I'm calling bullshit, I dont see any solid parts that would connect to the legs, and support the weight, not to mention the solid side goes to the front legs when all the energy required to take a step and haul all that begins at the calf. Not seeing at all how this supports any extra weight.
Landon Gomez
name a non-jew owned US news source that you watch/read.
Jose Anderson
Maybe that khaki colored thing right below his right hand going to behind him has some electric carbon fiber muscles?
>Russians don't have the $ to mass field it. retard, Russia will overtake Germany soon as 5th largest economy.
Carson Morales
...Jow Forums?
Charles Bailey
..Russia is literally in progress of demographic collapse
Christian Brooks
I hope not. I wouldn't trust the safety of my joints to Russian electrical engineering. Not with how bad they're hurting now.
Anthony Mitchell
Alright, chang, let's just ignore the exoskeles the US has made, no biggie. Here, let's make a bet. The day you actually manage to field exoskeles outside of propaganda purposes, I'll give you a dollar. That should cover your living expenses for another year, yes?
Julian Rivera
>..Russia is literally in progress of demographic collapse I think you mean the US... as it's being overrun by illegals and minorities.
Blake Bailey
better than chink or pajeet engineering. and guess who does the US engineering.. kek
Brandon Cook
>Why doesn't user find my carbon fiber body brace cool guys?
Woh look at this cool exo-suit guys. So unique and high tech. Russia number 1.
it's according the a UK bank, Standard Chartered. RT just reprinted it. but I guess you're too retarded to read & comprehend that.
Alexander Davis
>>carrying 77lbs for 9 hours and being barely tired is a joke? Yes.
Levi Cruz
>>twice that pounds 2 x 77 = 154..............
Mason Watson
>get shot >electronics get damaged and joints lock >now a 7kg metal brace is preventing you from moving >fall over and get crushed by the 70kg of weight on your back Truly the future of modern warfare
Ethan Thomas
>electronics Nope.
Blake Martin
What is it then, hydraulic? Just replace electronics with whatever mechanism it uses and the point stands
i bet (((Russian))) all Russians shiting on their home country on social media are almost always jews who are assmad they don't hold as much power there as they used to.
Nathan Campbell
Were you in the chairforce or something? Our kits weighed in at around 20kg + a backpack of 20 more + squad equipment. We used to do like 50km hikes back from maneuvers in that every week + cross country hikes of 5-20km during the maneuvers. It's pretty fucking standard.
Jason Williams
Reminds me of the ONYX exos or Lockheed Fortis . One reason exos are not going to be in combat arms is they squeak and make extra noise.
Gavin Smith
>Never hiked in Siberia detected
Ryan Phillips
It's still a net gain. Part of the energy required to stay upright during walks is used in keeping your legs straight because they want to bend from the weight pulling down. The 7 extra kilos from the exo should be more than offset by the 35 the user doesn't feel.
I also like how it is designed to double as light frontal protection for the legs.

>difference in GDP growth is 0.2% >Russia has 0.4 times the German GDP >Russia will be ahead within 2 years Russian math at it again.
Also you can claim all you want about the GDP PPP, but the real metric is between both. You can't just ignore trade for convenience.
Brandon Young
What the fuck are you talking about you rambling idiot? Deripaska, Abramovich, Rotenberg brothers, who do you think they are? PPP is hardly irrelevant m8, when it comes to these subjects. That's why it's idiotic to compare Russian and American defense budgets. Russians spend way less on R&D, procurement and their troops, because wages there are lower, for start, and their defense industry is state owned. There's also that small thing called US Navy which costs insane amount of money to merely keep afloat. Russians are focused on army and air force.
