Regular life fucking sucks, I don't know how I will ever replace the high of combat. I have been out for too long for any security company to hire me for real shooter work, though I am still in good shape. Fuck this boring life. You should take the exciting job.
Eli Williams
Then when that year is up, I’ll be out of work. Don’t wanna be homeless dude.
The most infuriating shit is most people really don’t care about your service.
Pic related: theoretically bitches should be flocking to a real navy seal
Don’t ever wanna be at Fort Irwin and doing staff duty while the rest of “normal” betas get all the bitches
I have a girlfriend now, too. FML. If she was not around I would go to AFG in a heartbeat.
Brandon Johnson
>can't take care of his own decisions and needs to vent about his feelings on a cantonese boat fishing discussion board >calls successful people around him betas
Jace Lee
>calls successful people around him betas >implying he is one
OP you sound gay as shit. If you really are stressing that other people will be taking all the pussy from you then it's clear you get no vag and are a beta.
Cameron Howard
You forgot about the braying donkeys and how they squat and just stare at you for hours on end.
I'm still almost sure they were fucking that donkey too.

Iraq vet here, putting in my experience >Deployed in 06-07 then again 09-2010 >Had a wife, no kids >Got out in 2012 when the big downsizing began, had 7 concussions on record so they barred me for reenlistment >Got out went to work for a local hospital doing veteran outreach, mostly WW2 guys >Had offers to go to back overseas and work as a contractor. Pass it up because im trying to build a family >Wife becomes an alcoholic, after we buy a house >Cant fix the marriage, let her go and she runs off to texas >She wants half of everything, have to sell the house >Time to rebuild life a 3rd time >Keep hearing people call for a civil war, i dont even care about politics. I'm just ready for the violence

>fucked up boot is wearing flag on wrong side and upside down he deserves to be cucked tbhwy
Noah Perry
Sorry bruh. That blows. Tried government work? Agency? NSA civ or contractor? It's some bullshit office work with retarded manchild coworkers but it pays.
Andrew Hughes
This.
Seriously though, contracting is as soul crushing as a civilian job. The more exciting kind is convoy ops, and even then you’ll still be sitting at a car for hours.
At least you won’t be in the middle of nowhere as a civilian and now you can party with slutty college girls.
It’s not a legit reason to let go of a career because of a female though.
>mfw my then fiancé convinced me to leave the Army and get a lucrative civilian job and be with her and now I just hate her deeply though she is the perfect wife
At least we make a lot of money. That article is too real btw
>wanted to lead an exciting life >left grad school to become a private contractor (was ex military, using GI bill) >got picked up by a big company >mfw they have a uniform >mfw you have to have a haircut >mfw they have formation >mfw they don’t pay as well because Afghan tax >GF left me and ran off with some musician >I was still paying rent when I was in country
It ain’t what it used to be user. The job now has the worst aspects of the military and civilian life.
Aren't both of them or at least CBP plagued with the issue of no one being able to pass their polygraphs?
James Baker
CBP HR is a bunch of trap fucking queers. The hiring process is WAAAAY too long. And the organization is hurting for a reason: they're asking lone officers to sit out innawoods and intercept large groups of illegals with backup up to an hour away. The equipment is worn to shit. Wearing armor all day and sitting hypervigilant CQ next to a fucking cactus gets old very fast. Corruption is another factor. Some of those guys sitting out there do get rolled up on by forces that outnumber them. In the Army you don't engage unless you have a 3:1 advantage. CBP expects a lone officer to engage anyone, doesn't matter if its a group of 10 armed bandits. This is how agents get bought and turned, or shot dead. Go to college, get a normie job doing something with your brain. If you want punishment, go work the oil patch.
Cameron Sullivan
The key (apparently) is to put in your application early as possible. Polygraph, much like Ranger School push-ups, is used to thin out the herd further.
Sebastian Turner
Yeah. This is the result of most of the applicants who are accepted being bilingual and natives to the region. Everyone here has smoked some ditch weed or did stupid shit when they were young or know someone who knows someone connected to criminal activity. Also: HR are queers as before. Federal hiring guidelines are strict, and federal workers don't care how much time and money they waste on throwing away applications.
Luis Bennett
SS uniformed Div sounds great, downside it requires a mandatory move to D.C. Polygraphs are garbage, i had a false negative reading when i stated my name and date of birth. The PD conducting it threw out the results.
Christopher Harris
so it's possible that secret service isn't having the same issues?
Noah Perez
I haven't heard anything about their hiring problems, or their hiring, but it's a much smaller agency. >t. former DC fag, now texasfag
Austin Cruz
Imagine getting this poetic and melancholic because you had a shitty job for a few years where you killed sandniggers for Israel tippity top kek, "veterans" are fucking pathetic
I don’t know. All I know is agents fresh out of schoolhouse have to do a few days in DC for professional developmentjust so the uniform guys can have a day off lmao
Nathaniel Hall
This was my reaction but I didn't post it.
Austin Sullivan
please do not post pictures of my wife on this forum and in fact i would ask you to leave k and never return
Go cope about not being good enough to do a “shitty job” somewhere else. All Israel Jew shit aside it’s a good move in life to be in the military at some point.
Thomas Reed
>not being good enough Kek, this is by far the most pathetic part of the milfag mindset. Nobody gives a shit that you can do some pushups and dip skoal all day long. Most people are actually intelligent enough that they can get a real job after high school and don't have to join a glorified welfare center and piss away 4 years of their life.
Owen Murphy
Not him but I'm coping good. I heard most of you guys have trouble going back to "civvie" life so no thanks, you can keep your brain/ear damage with your inflated self worth. Once you're out you're back in line with everyone else and are worth as much as you can produce in the economy. But don't worry, we'll keep signing the front part of your paychecks and give you discounts for it.
Dominic Taylor
>Nobody gives a shit that you can do some pushups >Nobody gives a shit that you can do some pushups >Nobody gives a shit that you can do some pushups
The veteran hospital needs to put a priority on this one, wait time is 2 years too late.
Kevin Mitchell
Lel, keep believing that you're somehow a genius because you know how to polish boots and make your bed. I got a job so that I could actually make money and do something with my life and still exercise on my own free time. Go take your blogpost to Facebook where some other crayon-eating veterans can sympathize with you.
Jordan Bailey
>I got a job so that I could actually make money and do something with my life and still exercise on my own free time.
Except most dudes that get out of the military (with no problems) get a free ride to college, have experience and preference (that corporate tax stamp to hiring vets)
Please tell me more about your student loans so I can laugh harder. So objectively speaking, we are worth more for the economy than an unskilled basement dweller who cant pay for college
>imagine being so inferior you dont even qualify to do a "shitty job"
you will lose about a third of your pay to taxes, so it's 100k vs 60k. if it's a salaried position it's also highly unlikely you'll only be putting 40 hours a week.
Cameron Martinez
>Be 17 year old me >Come from poor farming family in bumfuck IN >Went to the Army as a 25 series >Did my three years just to see what its like >Got my associates using TA as per a salty NCO's advice >Got out to complete an accelerated bachelor's and master's in the Northeast >Halfway through got offered a full time job making $70k (IT!) from my internship >Not even finished with Bachelor's
Sounds like a good deal to me. I also didnt do dumb shit and saved a shit load of money while I was in. Northeast GI Bill BAH is cash as fuck anons.
OP. Realize that that time is over. Move on, the grass is greener on the other side. You are probably remembering the good times, not the bad times doing dumb shit like police calls, formations, staying until 1900, motorpool days, SHARP classes, etc.
where was the position, because in certain parts of northeast 70k is jack shit.
Josiah Bell
If you don't own your own business you're not a man. You're the lucky few that made it out ok. Congrats. Most don't.
Sebastian Flores
Not anywhere near New York if thats what youre getting to
And you own a business? And of course, thats the goal. But I dont have to do it in a stupid way getting in debt and shit.
I'm also still in the reserves which gives me extra cash (can get on orders during the summer if I want) and free healthcare. Which I also think why my "transition" is somewhat smoother. I want that retirement money so I can do whatever the fuck I want in 24 or so years.
Grayson Carter
>USSS UD Don’t
Luis Parker
y nt
Daniel James
>retirement money Investing is better
Nathan Morales
You’ll have no days off. Trust me
Hunter Roberts
>And you own a business? I do actually. Everyone has different starts in life, shit posting is suddenly boring.
Luis James
Does not have to be one or the other. Do both. Be a real citizen.
It was one CQ shift that changed my life quite honestly
Story time >CQ >Powering through SSD1 >CQ NCO tells me when I finished he is gonna show me something >rogersgt.jpeg >Finished >He shows me this website for this university that does online classes and Tuition Assistance friendly >My certs count for some credits, not a lot >Got my associates 1.5 years later for free virtually >Decided not to re-enlist
And the rest is above.
Which is why I always laugh at people bashing the military in this Cambodian Vase Painting board. It sucks but you get a lot out of it if you are smart.
(Case in point, OP actually has a choice in life unlike most civilians stuck in dead end jobs because bills need to be paid. Though having the blessing of choice is also a curse.)
Go contract, I'm not sure who told you there's no future in it because there's always another contract if you have a good background and you preform well.
>if you don't own a business you aren't a man >owns a business >everyone has different starts in life >shit posting is suddenly boring Don't run away now, user. Your idea of manhood is at odds with the origins of your success. We can't change where we come from. You're angry at yourself, not others. Be kind to others so you can be kind to yourself.
Thomas Baker
new york isn't the only expensive place in the northeast. D.C. is expensive as fuck too and all the surrounding areas are too. throwing 70k at someone with just an associates degree guarantees that you're not in a low cost of living area.
Jason Harris
Samefag as Not always. When you finish that contract your application will be dumped with the rest of the noobs' applications. Those days are over since theyre hiring third worlders, since theyre cheaper.
You can renew 90 days out, but after that they have to cut you loose. So its really 2 years.
Andrew Carter
A car solved all my problems with that.
>live outside of major cities >drive to job
Oliver Allen
>spend 2 hours a day commuting good job.
Hunter Evans
It seems like you already have your mind made up. Why are you even here asking this question?
Bentley Miller
Not really, I am trying to find more input on either options lol
Samuel Parker
This story gives me good and bad feels. I'm much older, and didn't use TA. Young privates: listen to your NCOs/1SG about TA.
I don’t think it’s possible to really go back. Every old prior service guy I saw in the army was miserable, especially taking orders from guys in their early 20s. I rationalize it by reminding myself that my body is too far gone to operate or sleep on the ground. Also, my best buddy is still in and he’s fucking miserable.
this tbhwydesu. if you've done one enlistment, you've earned your way out. i re-enlisted because i was brainwashed and afraid of losing a good job and going out into the real world. the next four years were a total waste of time, downsizing meant no possibility of promotion in my MOS. now i'm going to college and finally starting on a real career.
Colton Ortiz
But still getting paid and also getting free shit after zogbot time is up
