So, I work at an education center, where the risk of being fired/arrested for being found with a gun is high. I would like some ideas for deep carry options. Since my pockets tend to be filled with keys/phone, and it gets hot enough that I need to strip down to a dress shirt often, I think my best option is to ankle carry, as I always wear long dress pants when working.
Anyone have any suggestions for holster and gun? Smallest gun I have is an Ruger LCR .38, which could work but might be a little too bulky. Since tax refund season is coming, I am willing to buy a gun for the purpose of ankle carry. I am also willing to go small caliber (.380, .32, .25, .22 magnum). Small, lightweight and slim is what I want, but otherwise I have no prejudices.
1) thank you for your service. teachers are heroes.
2) get one of the new walther ppk. your LCR is 6.5" long. ppk is only 4" long, and 380acp.
John Harris
Negatory, every time you sit down they'll be staring at your piece. You'll want a thigh holster.
Joseph Hughes
Unironically urban carry.
Eli Howard
Could work. Any holster recommendations? I never sit down, my pants are fairly long. Thigh holster is worth thinking about though.
Jaxson Harris
This, or keep an NAA mini mag in one of those little microfiber bags you put sunglasses in.
Leo Reyes
LCP size gun IWB might be a better choice.
Charles Rogers
That is another option I could take. Mostly, I want an option (however unlikely/shitty, at least its better than nothing) in case of a school shooting, secondary for walking to my car
Colton Barnes
Carry your LCR AIWB at 1 o clock. Start dressing in layers and make sure your outer layer is an inch or two longer than your inner layer. Tuck your undershirt in. You might want to be known as the guy that wears a windbreaker year round. If anybody asks you, tell them you developed hyperhydrosis and you don't want to be made fun of for having pit stains.
t. a guy with hyperhydrosis that has had to dress around not wanting people to notice my sweaty pits as well as carries an LCR appendix in college where it's legal, but I could be expelled if anyone were to notice I'm carrying.
AIWB is the most concealable carry location on your body. You would have to extend your reach as far as you can go over your head to expose anything, and you could negate that by wearing longer shirts. Bending over won't expose anything. Ankle carry is dumb af, when I sit down my ankles are exposed.
I wear a light weight hoodie year round, mostly because I can sweat through it and not worry about someone seeing my pit stains in a t-shirt, but I've learned that it conceals very nicely. I can conceal a Glock 17 in a sidecar holster AIWB and nobody is the wiser. The only reason I carry the LCR in class is because it's hard on your gut to have a full sized handgun in the appendix position all day.

Some holsters can be shitty for AIWB. OP would probably be fine, but it's pretty uncomfortable for me doing construction work. I've moved wrong before and gotten a pretty nasty poke from a leather/kydex hybrid holster for my pa-63. Funny enough though my full sized handgun worked great with a small galco holster AIWB.
Brayden Wright
Appendix won't work for me, as I wear a white tee-shirt, dress shirt (mostly lighter colors), and a dress jacket that gets taken off in heated rooms. Plus, I have a gut (working on losing it) that would make appendix carry uncomfortable. I never sit down when doing my job, so exposure is minimal. Still, I will keep your words in mind, perhaps I can work something out

>urban carry Ah, you mean like those "youths" who frequently cause a ruckus at the mall or public transit.
Consider the PHLster Flex with a J Frame revolver or Glock 42. You can get a holster like a Dark Star Gear, Discreet Carry Concepts behind the belt clips and AIWB with a tucked in shirt. The Flex allows you to have a modular loadout that can allow for a reload, a tourniquet or whatever.
Considering your threat and the people you have a responsibility (to a certain extent), having an emergency medical bag loaded with nitrile gloves, chest seals, TCCC approved tourniquets and wound packing along with the knowledge on how to employ them will pay off if you’re in the event of a mass casualty attack. You can most certainly save lives using a gun but medical goes a long way too.
Carry the tac-sac. Naa revolver. Lost river necklace holster. Tied to your belt loop. Dangling between your dick and your thigh. Been wearing it for months. Barely notice it.
Full sized handguns are more comfortable AIWB when you're mostly standing. If you have to sit you can thumb the grip forward so it doesn't jab you. Construction would suck as you're constantly bending and lifting, but it's still more concealable than a 3 or 4 o clock position. I'd look into a cargo pocket holster. Better than nothing.
The only thing about appendix carry that becomes uncomfortable with a gut is the barrel or slide digging into your pelvic bone. If you're standing all day you won't even notice it, and your gut will blend into the shape of the pistol to further conceal it.
Food for thought.

Listen to this guy. Ankle rigs have a pretty good chance of being spotted when you deviate from standing or walking normally. One awkward movement and you're fucked. It's also very difficult to discreetly adjust if revealed or shifted.
I'd suggest thunderwear so your chance of it being spotted is zero as long as you've got your pants up. If you're willing to make a big change, it wouldn't be too hard to reorganize your pockets to give you space for a gun in a wallet holster. Just describe your work edc and we can help you out (not sure if you'd feel comfortable sharing pictures since evidence of all this could get you fired).

>Been wearing it for months. No you haven't you lying nigger. You just made a thread about this stupid shit a few days ago.
Xavier Smith
place this in anus
Jace Wilson
Thunderwear might be a good option. I am reluctant to pocket carry, as I am worried it might print. I have pocket carried, and while it works ok in jeans due to the stiff fabric, I use dress pants, which are thinner. On the other hand, I pocket carry that LCR, so if I bought a smaller, sleeker gun, pocket carry might work. Re-organizing pocket stuff isn't a big issue-keys in one pocket, cell phone and music player in other, wallet in back pocket. Any of that can move to my overcoat, which has an inner pocket.
Andrew Jenkins
You caught me. But intentionally using hyperbole to validate a great carry method is the extent of my disingenuousness. Everyone should absolutely be carrying a tac sac.
Urban carry is a shitty holster that flings your gun out when you draw, not the method of carry for basketball Americans
Grayson Thomas
I know newfags will say shit like "block 43" and "ruger lcr", but truth is, those guns are just too big unless you're the stupid tactical guy wearing bulky cargo pants.
If you want deep concealment, naa .22lr or .22mag, throw it in your pocket and forget about it, I have one in .22lr which I can honestly put in my socks and forget about.
What I'll recommend to you is either a ruger lcp or a taurus tcp 380, those are cool guns, not what I'd use, but cool guns.
Guns for ankle and pocket carry need to be as comfortable as possible, in my opinion, that translates to cz92/45, beretta jetfire in .25acp,, fn 1906/colt 1908, baby browning or the patrician choice, seecamp in .25acp.
I own a bobcat in .22lr, which is honestly too big for what it is, I'd actually prefer a jet fire or fn 1906, but I have ankle carried it before, and in pants which were pretty much skinny fit, and it performed flawlessly.
Even as my pocket rocket it's just very nice and light, I can have it everywhere, anytime, no problems, and keep in mind I don't wear a holster and have other stuff in my pocket.
Isaac Morales
I think thunderwear would be your best immediate option. It's cheap, won't print much, and works with everything you've got now. At the same time, it sounds like you already have a free back pocket or could free up a front pocket if you wanted. I've recently started carrying a little Ruger LCP in my back pocket for a couple months now and I have to tell you it's fantastic. It doesn't shift or slip no matter how I'm moving around. It's so thin I honestly forget it's there and doesn't even cause problems when I sit. The great thing is that some holsters they make for these auto subcompacts print like wallets instead of guns (put the flat side facing out, so it looks like a square). You'd think it would be uncomfortable that way, but I guess the pressure spreads evenly because the gun itself is flat. I know at this point it seems like I'm really trying to sell you on pocket carry over thunderwear, but the reason for that is because I have experience with both and the former is my winner hands down. With thunderwear, you'll definitely notice your gun throughout the day because it has a tendency to want to dig into your crotch when you sit. It can also print if you don't take the time to properly align it with your pants when you get dressed. If you don't wrap/tape the excess "hooks" side of the velco, they'll chew through your favorite pair of pants. Your draw is going to be slow as fuck and it only gets slower if you wear your belt tight or have a bit of a gut. The reason I still suggest it is because the absolute worst case scenario is that if it does print, you can just say it's a medical device and that will kill any further questioning. All that being said, you get a much faster draw, less printing, and far superior comfort with pocket carry. Think of it like your wallet; it doesn't bother you, draw attention, or randomly decide to leap out of your pocket... all while being perfectly accessible. Pocket carry is the way to go if you've got money to spend.
If you're comfortable with not having your weapon on your person at all times, a briefcase or laptop bag may be a decent option. In an education environment, I doubt anyone would have any reason to ask why you carry it with you, and you can get relatively mundane and casual options to keep discreet. And as a bonus, you could feel like hitman with a "hidden compartment" briefcase

> shitty holster that flings your gun out when you draw
I thought "urban carry" was another term for "mexican carry"; i.e. holsterless.
Can you get away with un-tucked shirts? Put a clipdraw on that LCR and mexican carry that shit.
Grayson Jones
I despise iwb carry so much. I'd honestly take a 380/32/25 acp in an ankle holster just to try it out. Cargo pants and pocket holsters work I usually do that sort of thing so I can put it in any pocket and have other ones for other stuff. One thing you can do is just get a dedicated gun belt you can wear it higher than your other belt for your pants. It seems redundant but I hate IWB carry so much I'd honestly rather just wear a second belt with a holster. Plus you can always get a tailor to put together a pocket looking thing that covers the bottom of the holster so it just looks like fabric or a pouch to go around it. I been going through a holster phase wanting to try out a bunch of stuff I think just a second gun belt and wearing the holster portion on the inside of it would be enough with a thicker width would be enough to obscure it and the grip so it doesn't really print. Although I'm about to say fuck it and just try a shoulder holster.
Owen Torres
I am of the opinion that you should never carry a gun that you don't intend to get in a gun fight with. But... I recognize that there are situations that dictate have ANY gun. I would recommend a Smith & Wesson 642 or 442 in a belt holster with a tucked in shirt. Never have I been made with either of those in scrubs, dress clothes, work clothes, or street clothes. Find a tuckable holster you like and stick with a certain type of style. Sweater and a button down conceals even the largest of handguns on a regular basis for me. Even back when I carried a 1911.
Nolan Lopez
no, there's an actual holster style with that moniker. it drops the firearm down below the waist while keeping something such as a pager or cell phone on the belt. to use, simply yank upwards on the "phone" and grab your gun as it goes flying away from you.
Oliver Watson
keltec p32 (.32) is smaller than any of the .380s I looked at in my research. use fmj only or you will get rim lock issues. Works fine otherwise. Slide right in pocket, looks like a wallet.
>get a ppk for deep concealment Christ, try to carry one of those things before you tell other people to try it. Those things were obsolete for EDC 30 years ago.
If you really want to deep conceal a pocket pistol for an emergency then you can use a belly band. You don't need to be able to speed draw the thing if the school is locked down. Depending on the situation you probably shouldn't.
Do not get a PPK. They are good guns but all steel for ankle carry would be a fucking nightmare. Largest I would go is a LCP, although that would still be difficult. If you must ankle carry, look into NAA revolvers. And carry medical supplies.
Liam Ramirez
MP5 suitcase gun.
Gavin Smith
Get a Ruger LCP and a couple of various holsters for various situations and call it good.
